    Hello! I'm Romina. This channel exists to help you make money from anywhere, be an entrepreneur, and location independent. Productivity, remote work lifestyle, creativity, and business strategy are some of the topics we cover. If you're a fellow Trekkie, don't worry - I'll sprinkle in some Star Trek references too!

    Another great video! It took me almost 5 decades to figure out that working for myself and being creative was what I really wanted. No matter how much money the “day job” paid, I was always miserable working for someone else and just trading my time for a paycheck. p.s. Will we ever see “Bat Romina” again :)

    For the first 10 years or so of my adult life, I was a chemist (or I was in grad school), so remote work -- even if it had existed -- was not an option. I did work in an academic research lab, which is kind of a 9 to 5, except that it is not really. I got to play with all kinds of lab instruments, and learned to program, which was a feat in the days before personal computers. However, I spent the latter part of my work life at a large corporation, so I entirely get what you are saying. I did manage to propose and work on my own (very large software) project, which involved working from home since the early 1990s, so I set my own schedule and pace. The worst part of my experience was that my work ended up in a drawer, rather than reaching the audience it deserved. I was given a package to retire, but in any case, I would *never* work for an organization like that again. I miss the opportunity to contribute, though, and even though I am in my late 70s, I am still on the lookout for something to do.

    Hi Romina: I think this is 'a Whatever floats your boat' question. You have often spoken about rejecting the traditional 9-5 job. When I was a junior in high school my after school job was manufacturing silicon wafers. Today, 50 years later I arrived home after another day of doing the exact same thing although now I'm manager of engineering. I obviously don't hate what I do. I hope you're doing things that make you happy. I'm fairly happy. What do you think about this?

    • @rominaespinosa
      @rominaespinosa  Месяц назад +1

      i think that's awesome! i know you love what you do because you've mentioned it before. i think it comes down to having purpose and feeling like you are fulfilling that purpose, even if someone doesn't love their job, they should feel like they are providing value to their own lives and/or to society.

      I watched the video and I’m thinking you are ahead of your time. As more people today are working remotely from home and avoiding the hassles of traveling to work. I’m happy that you are happy 😊😊

    I don't want to work with for anyone because I'm tired of being treated badly for shit pay, basically. I'd rather struggle and make a small amount of money than sacrifice my dignity.
