- Today is a beautiful day and I am going fishing!! I use light gear and enjoy some amazing sport on an inshore reef with fish after fish after fish. I talk about the method and show you how to catch these fish too. I keep one healthy fish to feed my family.

Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone. I hope you have a great week. 😊☘️🎣
Same to you! Thanks for another great video!⚓
Same to you, from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪 😁
SAME to yourself and have a safe one
Great video John. Looked like a great session
Looks like St Patrick has turned u the warm side of the stone! Happy St Patrick's day from Northern Ireland. Tight lines.
This is the life John.
The scenic view and birds with the dolphins, what more could you ask for.
Watching you all rugged up and we as an Aussie, sitting here sweating up a storm makes me feel more comfortable with the heat. Have fun.🤣
I hear you guys have had an unusually warm winter?
As a novice learning I appreciate you showing how the line is tied. Even more detail including the knots and where to tie would be even better for me personally
Watch the Fishlocker workshop video. 👍🏻
As a beach lifeguard we were taught about the rule of 12ths to explain the speed at which tide floods and ebbs. It’s worth explaining it on your wonderful channel.
I have explained it in detail before and many people cannot get their head around it. People cannot work in fractions any more it seems.
Thanks for the dolphins! This video made my day better!
Thank you very much.
You're a real life living legend you know, thanks again for these videos
We just share what we know and love doing mate. Nothing special, just simple and honest. 😊🎣
Hello John been watching you for at least 4 years, always look forward to your new vids, keep up the good work, keep pulling then in, hello to the misses and James
Thank you Glen, have a good one. 👍🏻🎣
Nice one John.. great viewing.. educational as always... you've got some Pollack's mate 😂.. that first bite was a beauty...all the best to you and your family ❤
Thanks John and take care bud. 😊👍🏻
Nice to get you back fishing John.
👍🏻
Thanks my Sunday just got so much better❤ Greetings from Denmark 😊
You are most welcome 😊
What a delight being out on the water surrounded by those amazing dolphins, you are a lucky guy having these, but there are a lot more appearing in the Tees and Redcar area, well done on another great video😊
It’s a great sign isn’t it.
Just so knowledgeable John. And you explain everything so well. Thank you. And I loved the dolphins
They are always a pleasure to see.
One of your best streams .I love catching big fish like this .Great fun . Many thanks Great stream 👍👍👍
Thank you very much.
Finally my weekend's share of quality seafishing content😊
Have a good start in the week and tight lines
I hope you have a good week my friend. The weather here is horrible.
like you said and I for one would have to agree, after weeks of strong wind and rain what a pleasant surprise to be able to get out and wet a line.
It has been a long wet windy winter.
Great start to my Monday John thank you, today Cyprus celebrates Green Monday, the start of Lent, so no meat, licking my lips for the fish!! Greetings and regards to the family. 🐟🐟🐟🐟👍👍
Have a wonderful week Jacqui. 😊
Sunday night compleat John, thanks. Very informative video , you managed to fine a window in this terrible patch of weather at last.
I hear you’re selling the boat Keith, what you upgrading too?
A very nice first fish John and a brilliant explanation of 'why the locked-in lead?' - it does confuse many, I know.
Haha. Even after explaining things there will still be folks who ask the question.
@@TheFishLocker John, I would like to write you a short piece of music to add to your channel as you introduce yourself each time - would you be up for that? Chris
Another good video of a cracking session😀🎣 So nice to see the ☀️ after all the wind and rain we’ve had!!
It wasn’t out for long. 🌧️
Thanks once again ! Love LRF , both deep, rigged like you, for the ' big eyes ' and in the shallows with raps for the surface feeders !. 😊
Oh yes!!
Happy st Patrick’s to you John and your family, you caught some lovely pollock today.the weather was very good as well happy days, thanks for sharing the video 🇮🇪
Glad you enjoyed joining me mate. 👍🏻🎣
You can tell by the smile on your face that you love being at sea. You really are the best youtuber. I look forward to your videos every week. My Mrs actually quoted you yesterday whilst we were fishing the pier. She said just like the fishlocker said "pointless both of us getting our hands dirty" whilst I was baiting up. Haha
Cheers buddy
Kev
Haha. Shes a smart lady. 😉👍🏻
Hi John well done what lovely Pollocks, what a great days fishing isn't the sea lovely and blue, and a bonus dolphins swimming round the boat. Take care.😊
Doesn’t get much better for a winter days fishing does it.

Sadly mate bills always need paying. 🤷🏻♂️
@@TheFishLocker tell me about it

Cheers Karl. All the best bud.
Fantastic mate, love your videos, you know your stuff, en so does James. Keep em coming. ❤
Thanks Martin.
Perfect Sunday night watch it’s like watching David Attenborough 😂
Mate I would love to see David Attenborough fishing!!!
Great session, you are very lucky to have so many good areas to fish within easy reach. Always enjoy your videos, very informative and brilliantly presented. 👏
Thank you David.
I lived in Cornwall for a summer in 2010. I've traveled quite a bit of the world, and there is NO place like Cornwall.
My favorite place on the planet.
Wonderful part of the world isn’t it.
@@TheFishLocker I was actually building stonewalls (hedges). Did some flyfishing there too... best streams I've ever fished.
You were the first and most informative and the best.the others don't compare. Keep on keeping on ❤
Thank you for the positive feedback 😊🎣
A good day's fishing John. Excellent explanation of how to catch and release pollack. It's so easy to try to bring a large one up as quick as you can from deeper water with the resulting fish that can't go back.
Shame you didn't find that bass. Well done, mate.
I hope the information in the video helps people to be more sustainable with their fishing.
Wow, some lovely pollock there John. The wrasse were very nice too. Some great tips on the float set up. Take care mate. Graham
My pleasure Graham, I hope folks find the videos helpful.
Absolutely love the videos mate. Very similar style of fishing yet I live at the bottom of the world in Tasmania. Similar climate, similar coastline.
Your videos have kept me sane whilst recovering from surgery.
I hope you are back to 100% now.
@@TheFishLocker Thanks for the kind words mate. Had a complete Achilles tendon insertion reconstruction, which meant taking the Achilles off the bone. Slow recovery. Back on the boat for Easter which will be nice.
Fantastic to be back out on the boat John , what a stunning start with the dolphins surrounding you ,amazing sight ! I hope James footie match went well. Appreciate your efforts as always mate 👍🏼 👍🏼🎣
Thanks bud. Aye let’s hope the weather starts to improve.
Thank again John for another great vid.... if you are ever up Lincolnshire way there is some great beach fishing when the weed is not messing with you, or some excellent course fishing at the local fisheries. I've not done any sea fishing for the past year due to illness, but i have managed to get out and land some nice carp and lots of silvers over the winter months.
Well done for getting out and wetting a line regardless mate. I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos.
Stunning fish mate real good condition circle hooks are fab always spot on 👍
Used properly that are brilliant aren’t they.
Brilliant. I was guilty of taking my eyes off the float. Thanks for putting the arrow in 😂.
Haha. I’m guilty of it once or twice and I always miss it. 🤣
Thank you again for the video look forward to next one stay safe and take care.
Thanks Keith.
It has been a ridiculously windy winter.
Change is afoot.
Nice fishing (like I'd know 😆). Clean filleting.
Hope James enjoyed his footie.
I’d like to hope the weather is changing. It’s been horrible!!
Great session and a lovely pollock too. Glad you weren’t greedy and only took the one. Loving the dolphins.
Take only what you need and treat the natural world with respect and appreciation 😊👍🏻
Delightful video John. Can't wait until I can get out on the water! The dolphins made my day!
They are always such a pleasure to see.

Thanks Matt. Hope you had a good weekend mate and best wishes to the family.
What a load of pollacks John nice to see you back on the water.. the fact that you do this during school time and get yourself sorted so quickly shows you expertise. nice one crack on
We did the video of an entire trip during the school hours. Did you see it?
Yes @@TheFishLocker
Ah John, I'd just finished an enjoyable Church service on line and was 2 seconds after your posting, so the happy evening continued with Dolphins, a smiling face, wagging finger and load of Pollacks - thank you Sir, have a brilliant week.
Perfect timing.
Excellent video John! I love seeing you fish in our waters. It’s beautiful and exciting at the same time. We need to see you doing COD fishing 🎣 ❤️❤️.
We had several cod fishing trips cancelled this winter. The weather has just been horrendous.
@@TheFishLocker aww! Thanks John, I really hope the weather improves and we see some of your magic :-)
Wow . Those Dolphins 🥰🐬🐬
Wonderful aren’t they.
Great video John, didnt realise how quickly time went watching this one today. Thoroughly enjoyable 👌
Great to hear the video was a good watch. 😊🎣👍🏻
magical watching the dolphins. Informative as ever. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed the video.
Wonderfull those dolphins. Thx for showing. Quick Question, how do you stop your float and keep the bait on the required depth??
I explain that in detail in the video. 😉👍🏻
I am dutch, sorry, 😂Sometimes it's difficult to follow exactly what you are saying in the accent you are using... But you are mentioning a float stop. Did I hear that corectly...? Does that goes trough your guides?
Wow you catch some of the nicest Pollack I’ve seen!
We do get some stunners at this time of year, we just need to encourage folks not to take too many when they’re spawning.
Brilliant stuff John, and I hope James and the boys won
They played their best but were outmatched.
Superb fishing John hope the family are well bud.All the very best ❤️🤍💙
Thank you James. Have a great week. 😊🎣
oh my god i can’t believe i’m actually watching john locker, the man that invented fishing. Fantastic
Haha. You soft sod. 🤣
Great fishing really great to watch a pod of dolphins around the boat.i remember a good few years ago I went out with a mate down to torquay & weymouth up to about 60 mile in the channel & we had a pod of dolphins so the fishing stopped play for a short while as we were watching them had some cracking too really enjoyed the wrecking trips. Tight lines happy fishing bud 👍🙂🎣🐟🐟🐟🦈
They are always wonderful to see aren’t they. 😊🎣
anoth great watch mate some cracking fish mate and good luck for your boy in is match
Thanks Andrew.
Great to see you back on the boat John 🎣🎣
Good to be back afloat. 👍🏻🎣
crackin' day out John, some great looking fish, glad to see your out on the boat again, mine will be ready this week, so looking at having some session akin to yours👍🎣
Best of luck to you mate. 🎣👍🏻
This must be one of my favorit video's John. Enjoy fishing for bass with a float in Holland. Watching you catching these humongus pollack, makes me green of envey, lol. Cannot wait to see you again on the boat fishing with a float. Greetz from Stipo from Holland
Do you not get the Pollack in your waters? Too shallow and sandy? Livebaiting for Bass is great fun too.
Awesome video as always John, not only are you RUclipss top angler but your filliting skills are on another level.
Time Sky,BBC /ITV gave you a prime spot on mainstream TV ...Yes you are that good .
Given the quality of content on those TV stations, they would benefit more than we would. 🤣
John - 1st, you are really getting close to 350K subscribers, so please keep up your quality videos. 2d, I keep looking at your stern workstation and wonder when you'll throw out your lobster pot strings again in 2024, as I love the variety in your video offerings from fishing, lobstering, foraging and cooking. Thanks so much for taking me along.
The pots will go out as soon as the bad weather starts to subside. It’s been hellish this winter.
As you delivered your opening natter I spotted the dophin in the background, it is odd how they brighten the day and lift the spirit. Pity the little man wasn't with you to witness the pod.Got to ask the obvious question, do dolphins ever take a line, or are they too smart? Fish roe, I've eaten pickled cod roe and it is awesome, almost as good as raw minky whale but I do think that ALL laden fish should be returned when ever possible. I commend you for returning a good catch John. Thanks for another interesting vid.
Dolphins are too smart for that mate.
I really enjoyed this video mate every thing about it was spot on proper brilliant session mate well in!!! Look forward to the next 1! Take care and tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
Thanks mate. Cracking Thornback you had. 👍🏻🎣
@TheFishLocker haha thanks mate it was a beauty. I coudnt bleve my eys when I saw it for the first time I was In a state of shock. Imagine what I would off been like if I will catch 1 of your beasts you have caught. I would probably faint 😅😅🤣🤣🤣 thanks again bro 🎣🎣🎣
In New Zealand snapper and kingfish often accompany birds and dolphin's. Cast lures into that and catch all the fish you want, nature at its best. Thanks for filming
Glad you enjoyed the video.
Brilliant looking Pollock John, ive got some in my freezer but mine came from lidl lol i wished i lived by the coast ,so envious m8 ,tight lines 👍
Great eating fish isn’t it.
@@TheFishLocker two to three times a week just started the carnivore diet feel 10 x better 👍🐟
Awesome again John my granddaughter & I had a session Saturday morn using lures fishing 4 herring (Tommy rough) we both bag out put one out as live bait got smashed by big sting ray got it into shallow water it was about 8 ft wing tip to wing tip . Got home and fired smoker up to smoke herring so very tasty. Happy catching from Australia Nick
Blimey that’s a big stinger!!!
Excellent again glad to be back up and about
How you feeling mate?
Master class in how to play fish to the boat with a tide running. Also on how to handle fish without damaging the gills. Thanks John hopefully a lot more fish will be returned in good condition with your tuition.
Slainte ☘️
Good tip using the net also.
I hope that all of the information we share in the videos helps people out. 😊🎣
Better produced and far more informative than the BBC......keep up this great content!
We haven’t watched terrestrial TV in years. Nothing but drama and B/S
Wonderful life John, respect 🫡
Take care John. 🎣😊
@@TheFishLocker cheers pal 🙏🏻
Haven't seen some blue sky for a while.
Cheers from rainy Wales.
Haha. I’ve not known a winter like it here in over a decade. 🤷🏻♂️
What an excellent video! Those dolphins are so fun to watch, and as you said, 'brighten one's day' to be sure. Thank You for providing that to us. I personally think that it's easy to take for granted the amount of effort it takes to put together these videos. You make it seem easy. So many times I see a thumbnail of something that intrigues me only to be met with either zero narration, OR a robotic version that is just as bad. Your personality, plus the very interesting and informative content, make a winning combination. The words 'Thank You' inevitably recur in my thoughts when writing a comment for one of your videos. Best wishes for you and your family.
Near the end of the video you are bringing in a fish (the one where you mention 'planing' ) and the fish fights it some. I assume the reel has an adjustable tensioner, but even that I'm not sure. Can you go into that a little bit sometime in a future video? I like the new sonar too!
The fact that you can keep the presence of mind to turn the camera so we can get a better view of you torpedoing that Pollock back to the depths is commendable. :)
I really appreciate the positive feedback Benny. I truly hope the videos help folks out and bring some enjoyment to people. Best wishes bud and take care. 😊🎣
Smashing video again John those dolphins seem too like you as much as you like them or just like being on your channel 😂
I like to think it’s because they can sense positivity and intent. 💙
Cracking pollocks John. I too love to catch them. I look forward to this summer going back to Newfoundland and catching them!
Good luck when you get fishing. 😊🎣
Hey John always enjoy the videos. I live in new England and wet and windy has been happening aince last summer. Cheers mate
It’s been windy and wet for the last 12 weeks mate. 😫
I always enjoy watching your videos John, every time I watch I learn something new, I am taking on a bit of a project, a Fairline Vixen, 120Hp and just needs a bit of love, so I am going to video it for you tube on my channel, it should be a bit of a laugh as I am 63 disabled, and looking forward to getting out on the water, you gave me the confidence to try this, once I cant do any fishing it will pass to my eldest son who will be doing most of the hard work but he loves fishing as well, I did listen to what you said about buying a boat, the Fairline being a cruiser will give him a chance to take his wife and boys out on weekend cruises and him and my other son can get on with fishing, sorted.
Sounds like a wonderful family project. Good luck to you all 😊🎣
Very nice video! Not pots, but still very good. Thank you... When does pot season start? Thanks again. Hope all is well with you and the family.
When the poor weather dies off.
watched for 2nd time, couldn't type with the 2 operations on my right elbow & thumb. Great video John drawing us into the boat with you 'to fish with you'. Could say a lot more if I could type. Cheers to you & all of your family, Don from South Aust.
I hope you’re on the mend mate.
