I have a fairly new GH5. All of a sudden, the mic input is only working on left channel. I've double checked all cables, lav mic...even on another camera. It literally worked correctly...left/right, the last time I used camera, now it's not. Help!
I had this issue before. I was playing around w/settings and somehow disabled. In the end, I quickly reset the camera by hitting menu/set to get to the menu screen, next selected the 2nd wrench, and scroll to page 4/5. here you will find Reset (4th option down). Select Reset > then choose Yes. This will reset the camera and audio. This is what worked for me.
Thanks bro. Some say the natural GH5 ISO setting is 800, so you prob don't want to go lower. I know you were just giving an example though. I notice grain at 1600, so I keep it at 800 and adjust aperture or shutter.
Idk what happened with my GH5s but yesterday I turned it on and is soooo dark... I can't see anything on the screen with 100ISO... I have setup ISO at least to 1600 to see anything, and if aperture goes to 9 my ISO has to be at 6400 or so... Any idea what happened???
Get a wireless follow focus if you can. Otherwise, be very precise in you shots. Plan them out and practice the movements at least 4 or five times before rolling.
Also, if filming outdoors, open up your aperture to something around f/8 or higher and more things will stay in focus longer. Less precision is needed, but you do lose depth of field. I wouldn't advise that, but it'll work. Honestly, get a wireless follow focus with thumbwheel focus knobs or a 1st AC to help you out. Good luck.

Depending on the setting of your GH5, your computer might have a hard time decoding your footage. The GH5 can record at extremely high bitrates compared to higher-end consumer videocameras but this also means it will take it's load out on your PC, especially at 4K setting.
Question: I currently have a Canon 7D (first model) and I have a Canon 28-135 MM and a Tamron 17-50 MM lens. Can those lenses be used on a Panasonic GH5 with an adapter? If so, do I need a speed booster or is there a cheaper adapter?
they can be adapted. Metabones makes non-speed boosting adapters. What a speed booster does is keep the lens looking as it would on a full frame body. other companies make other adapters but you want to make sure its a "smart" adapter (meaning there are electric prong connections for the lens, that way you can have aperture and focus peaking controls, etc.
hello I don't have all of the option you have in selecting my fps all I have is 24fps and use variable Fram creates to slow it down but I don't have normal 60 fps or even 30 fps without using vfr
How about vlogging on shooting scenes with faster movements ? Do you use auto focus or do you have to continually adjust the focus manually? Ps great video x
I've seen recently that 179 gives faster auto-focus. I haven't tested it myself, as I primarily shoot with manual primes. I'd stay with 180 if going manual, but I could be wrong. I'll research further into it.
In the past, 179d was found to be the best shutter angle for better continuous auto-focus; however, Panasonic has since issued a firmware update that increases the auto-focus performance at 180d. So going with 180d (ideal) will set the shutter to be twice the frame rate which is what you what for natural looking motion.
If you cant record 180 fps, its probably your Rec Quality settings. Try setting it to 1920x1080 24p 420.8-bit/LongGOP. If you do need to get off pal is int he menu with the wrench icon (not c+wrench icon) then page 3/5"system frequency"

Because of the Micro 4/3 sensor, your GH5 doesn't let in much light. That's why it's so dark
