All GH5 users know these features, so not exactly hidden. And if you don't know them as a GH5 owner, you're not using your camera enough. But it could be interesting to a non-GH5 user

it is true! the G9 is a monster, my choice is the g9 because of the v2 update. It does 4k 10bits, vlog L, video 6k "5K '' while being better in photo. The GH5 has anamorphic but hey I can also take a 7.5mm laowa and add black bands on my film: D and higher video rates ... but is it really useful for amateur use or even semi pro? not on ...

    Hi Nate
How can you adjust the contrast in the GH5before filming if the light is too contrast and you want to bring down the highlights and boost the shadows?

    • @NatesFilmTutorials
      @NatesFilmTutorials  2 месяца назад

Yes you can in the picture profile settings, but it's better to fix it with lighting first. Dialing in exposure and possibly add some fill light. Then, make any necessary tweaks in-camera. This will give you a better result overall!
Do you have an example of what issues you are facing?

The IS lock is very cool and none of the other camera has this feature. But sometimes if you forget to turn it off while doing some panning. The motion looks weird. And the footage is very hard to correct in post by use wrap. So it might ruin your shot. So use it only when you need a super still shot.

As another proud owner and RUclipsr as well, I do agree that the GH5 is the best camera for what we do. There are things that they can do on the software side to make it better.
For one get rud of that mountain and flower focus distance ranger. It's better to have what the S1H has with the actual measurement.
Two, give us more paid upgrades. I can't just think that the only paid upgrade was VLOGL. Which tells me the camera can do more. I bet a higher dynamic range in the shadows and more.
They are holding it back. Here why say this.
The G9; better processor same sensor, but it won't work with the audio adapter. Panasonic is just stopping it.
Isn't true the BMPCC4K is the same sensor as the GH5s?

Unfortunately, there are many "RUclipsrs" who hate the GH5 because of the AF. They are basically just vloggers, and I honestly don't understand why they don't just use a damned GoPro for those crappy videos they make. This camera was made for indie filmmakers and other artistic video endeavours...

New to the Gh5, some RUclipsr recommended setting the function button by the lens for ex tele convert , I accidentally bumped it months later and all my selfie vlogging was cropped. Very frustrating. Started shopping for 8-18mm. Watched your video that said to turn it on, and I turned it off and voila!! more of me when I vlog. Now I can see my chest instead of my giant head. Ha Ha Ha LOL! 🤣🤣🤣🤣. sorry I'm not advanced enough to have it on. But for me and maybe some new vloggers, it's better in off position. Maybe make a video for new gh5 vloggers?

Try it! But remember to hold STILL - or indeed do try to move the camera (for practice) :-) I accidentally engaged that while filming from a moving boat - and the image jumped up and down, left and right - twitching and behaved badly - until I saw the icon...

I have some tutorials on my channel for lighting this was pretty simple actually. I had a small 1x1 above right above the camera and a piece of foam core to bring up the brightness of the buttons.
Since it was so close I could dim it down that way my RGB light in the background can be visible.

"hidden" ... every function is accessable throught the standard menu system. It might be complex to use, but there is nothing about it to be called "hidden". Care for a little de-click-baiting? Otherwise regarding the standard functions: good video and funny examples (featuring you, not the lens lineup ^^)
