dil's eyebrow I get it, but people need to realize YT is a public platform. You won't die seeing a few comments joking about them here and there. Exo-ls do it more than us but nobody complains about them. (I'd know, since I am one lol)
Thank you for your question, Emma. If properly canned and stored in a cool, dark place, the jam should keep for up to a year. Once you open it, be sure to store in the refrigerator. Enjoy!
Made this today cause I had some leftover strawberries. I cut back on the sugar though cause 4 cups seemed like alot. I used 3 cups instead. I found it was more then enough...in fact next time I think I will cut it down to 4 cups strawberries and 2 cups sugar...I also added some vanilla bean paste. It was yummy!
For jam making, you always want to use granulated sugar, sushya bondala. Here's a link to the original recipe if you want to review the ingredients: allrecipes.com/recipe/strawberry-jam/detail.aspx
Of your going to do a water bath to seal the jars, they need to be covered with at least 1-2 inches of water. Those jars aren’t going to seal properly.
I'm sorry for some army's that causes people to feel disrespected and annoyed. It's just new army's that doesn't know how they should behave after they heard a joke. I'm kinda disgusted over some army's when I read their disrespectful comments to others, it makes us seem like bad people. Grow up please, we're not like this.
Thank you for your question! Will you please let us know how you have been making this strawberry jam so we can answer your question more accurately? You would want to cook the jam just until it reaches 220 degrees F.
Thanks for your question, jhona talana. For 2 kilos of strawberries, you will need 1.8 kg of white sugar (equal to 9 cups), and 135 ml of lemon juice. A tip for the future: To convert recipes to metric or Celsius measurements and temperatures, follow these steps: 1 - Click on the link to the original recipe. You'll find this at the top of the page just under the "Published on" date. (If it's not there, click on "Show More" and a box will open with the link.) 2 - Once the original recipe opens, find the Ingredients line, and then look for the small gray divided circle on the right. Click on this and a box will open showing servings, and US and Metric with a gray "Adjust" box. 3 - Click on Metric and this circle with turn orange, and then click "Adjust" and the ingredient amounts will automatically adjust. You're ready to start cooking!
Cant wait to try this, and I have a question, can you make ANY type of jam with this method? Say, just use cherries or blueberries instead of strawberries?
Hi there, yes - you can make any type of jam with this method, but you'll need to adjust the lemon juice & sugar measurements depending on what you substitute the strawberries with. However, blueberries and/or cherries don't have as much natural pectin in them (as strawberries do), so you may need to use pectin to thicken up the jam with those fruits. Check out this article at Allrecipes.com for more information - allrecipes.com/howto/jams-jellies-and-marmalades/detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e11=pectin&e8=Article%20Search&event10=1&e7=Search%20Results, Happy Cooking!
Allrecipes Ok thanks, sorry I asked this question again in the other response, I'm just now reading this. I made this jam and it turned out great !! :)
You may use other glass jars, Erica Mciver, if you plan to store the jam in the fridge. Otherwise, the canning jars with sealable lids are a better choice to prevent the jam from spoiling.
Use no cook freezer pectin and you do not need to cook the jam until almost all the moisture is cooked out, just add the pectin and sugar to the berries stir for three minutes and let set for thirty minutes, if the mixture is setting up well you are ready to put it in jars. It you think the jam is not as well set as you would like add another tablespoon of pectin and stir again for three minutes and it should set up well. I use Mrs Wages freezer jam pectin and it has worked well for me for several years.
please stop mentioning bts in places that have nothing to do with them it's annoying and disrespectful, it's one of the main reasons as to why so many fandoms think we're awful
Thank you for your question. If you process the jam at the end, prior to storing, it will keep in the cool, dark place for up to a year. Without processing, it will keep in the refrigerator for about a week.
Did you search online, medinalba? This is as close as Allrecipes comes to a recipe, but you could substitute more oranges for the kumquats: allrecipes.com/recipe/46310/kumquat-marmalade/
Looks like that was neglected in this video, Cynthia Wilder. But it's something that's always a good thing to do, to ensure the lid seal is secure. Thanks for noting it!
I used 1/2 cup splenda to make the 4 cups jam. Making this for my dad as part of his Father`s Day Gift. Then I think I will make some for my husband for Father`s Day, but only use 2 cups of regular white sugar. I used the spoon method to make sure it was at the right temperature. Hoping it comes out good.
Hi there, you can store the jam in your freezer for up to one year, or in your refrigerator for up to three weeks. Check out this article at Allrecipes.com for more information - allrecipes.com/howto/freezer-jam/detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e11=pectin&e8=Article%20Search&event10=1&e7=Search%20Results, Happy Cooking!
Allrecipes Ok thanks so much, In late Spring? early Summer is when I like to can. Also my other question can you make any flavor of jam with this method? I'm kinda new at it.
What size jars do you have, AllThisStuff? This recipe makes 5 cups (1 cup is 8 ounces) of jam. If it doesn't all fit into the jars, spoon it into a bowl, cover and refrigerate. It will also keep this way--and you'll be able to eat it first!
Thanks for asking, Jan King. The answer is "no," the jars won't explode. Everything is hot at the same time, and the processing ("cooking" the filled and covered jars in a hot water) is for just 10 minutes.
Allrecipes Ok, thanks, what I did was, I just lightly sat the lids on the jars for the processing, then when I got them out of the boiling water I sealed them, I put them to freeze, and plan to keep them frozen until Christmas ~for about 5 months~ Do you think that will be ok?
***** freezing your jam for that length of time should be fine for immediate consumption upon thawing, but processing in a water bath with the lids sealed forces out excess air and forms a vacuum seal that allows for long term storage. They would have to be thawed in the refrigerator and kept refrigerated at all times. When you press firmly in the center of your jars, the middle should be solid. If there is any flex at all, you should treat it as if it were an opened jar of jam.
Amy Vanlandingham After I got the jars out of the water bath, I sealed the lids and within 5 mins they "popped". So I guess that means they are sealed right?
Amy Vanlandingham One more question, about how long will it take the jam to thaw out? I want to give it in normal condition on Christmas, but also know it will need to be consumed in about 2 weeks after thawing... So would you say set it out in the fridge around Dec 21? Like maybe on the Winter Solstice?
You may substitute fresh pineapple in place of the strawberries, Javeria Naseer. Pineapple is similar to strawberries because it doesn't have natural pectin, which means you may need to add more lemon juice to help the jam set.
Delicious idea, Aman Bokolia! Peel and roughly chop the kiwi fruit, and stir the chunks into the berries. Then prepare the jam just as you would normally. You're in for a treat! You may never make "plain" strawberry jam again!
Allrecipes I did it yesterday...It was wonderful..and the black kiwi seeds added beautifully to the texture...Can I know how long a jar of this jam can last? (although it won't last a week cz it's yum)
Smart question, Aman Bokolia. If you packed your jam into sealable canning jars, it can last a year. Best tasting quality is within six months. If it's in jars with no seal, refrigerate it and it can keep three or four months. (We also bet it will be eaten sooner!)
Hey, Pedro Miranda - You can change the recipe amount. It's easy! Here's how: 1) Find the recipe link at the top of this page under the "published on" date (or click "Show More" to open the box to find the link). We'll save you a step. For this recipe, it's allrecipes.com/recipe/strawberry-jam/detail.aspx 2) Click on this link to open the recipe page, and then under “Ingredients,” find the line "Original recipe makes 5 cups" (or 6 servings or whatever the finished amount is for each recipe). 3) To the right of this line, click on "Change Servings." A box will open where you can type in a number to change the number of servings (the original recipe's amount will first automatically show in the box). 4) Type the number of servings you want, and then click the box to the right that says “Adjust recipe.” All the ingredient amounts will immediately change to amounts needed-more or less-for the new number of servings. Hope this helps, and you try the recipe. It's definitely strawberry jam season. Yum!
Using less sugar will prevent the jam from thickening, s m. It will be more like strawberry syrup. To get the jam to set with less sugar, you will need to add pectin. You can buy a version of pectin that's low-sugar and use less sugar that way. Hope this helps.
Yay now i can have some strawberry jam! I wont waste any money anymore! Wellllll, strawberry's are not expensive for me so i would buy many... I keep asking myself why are there so many ARMYs in the comment section. Can someone be NORMAL?!
Thanks for your question, Floriana Osmani. Making blueberry jam is about the same as strawberry jam, but it looks like it's a video we need to add. Simply simple!!
Thank u for this site,i can cooked my strawberry here.In two kilos of strawberry many caps of white sugar?

You had me like "Yes!!!!!! Oh my god. It looked so easy" .... then those 4 cups of sugar came in .........
Just put less simple as that.
Sugar is important to ensure the jam jells, Alx Plm. If you change the proportions to the amount of fruit and lemon juice it's not guaranteed.
Alx Plm yep 4 cups of Suga

I am blessed that every jam video's comments are armies
Is it 180 degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius?
Didn't the jar edges get wiped off with a damp cloth or paper towel before lids were added ?
Looks like that was neglected in this video, Cynthia Wilder. But it's something that's always a good thing to do, to ensure the lid seal is secure. Thanks for noting it!
I am looking to make this into a diabetic recipe. How much Splenda would I use?
I used 1/2 cup splenda to make the 4 cups jam. Making this for my dad as part of his Father`s Day Gift. Then I think I will make some for my husband for Father`s Day, but only use 2 cups of regular white sugar. I used the spoon method to make sure it was at the right temperature. Hoping it comes out good.
think it came out too runny. Will make for a good topping for ice cream. Now maybe try it with pectic. :(
If I make this in June, will it keep till Christmas?
Hi there, you can store the jam in your freezer for up to one year, or in your refrigerator for up to three weeks. Check out this article at Allrecipes.com for more information - allrecipes.com/howto/freezer-jam/detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e11=pectin&e8=Article%20Search&event10=1&e7=Search%20Results, Happy Cooking!
Allrecipes Ok thanks so much, In late Spring? early Summer is when I like to can. Also my other question can you make any flavor of jam with this method? I'm kinda new at it.
Can the sugar be reduced?
How did I manage to mess this up. I thought this would be easy to make 😭I'm just gonna buy some instead. It probably won't taste as good but I'm lazy.
would this still work if I try it with a different fruit?
Yes, If you're not sure then watch another tutorial with another fruit. :)
can we use citric acid instead of lemon juice or is it necessary to add the lemon juice?
Are you using powdered citric acid, shifaligautam? If yes, use 1 teaspoon powdered citric acid to equal 1/4 cup lemon juice.
+Allrecipes Thank you :)
okay, please clarify. did you say 4 cups of white suga because i don’t think i have enough??
I'm an army here to look for another lol
How many jars does it make?, I only have one or two spare ones.
What size jars do you have, AllThisStuff? This recipe makes 5 cups (1 cup is 8 ounces) of jam. If it doesn't all fit into the jars, spoon it into a bowl, cover and refrigerate. It will also keep this way--and you'll be able to eat it first!
can I skip lemon? or can I substitude it with orange juice?
Lemon has pectin to help it set up
Will processing like that with sealed jars not cause the jars to explode?
Thanks for asking, Jan King. The answer is "no," the jars won't explode. Everything is hot at the same time, and the processing ("cooking" the filled and covered jars in a hot water) is for just 10 minutes.
Allrecipes Ok, thanks, what I did was, I just lightly sat the lids on the jars for the processing, then when I got them out of the boiling water I sealed them, I put them to freeze, and plan to keep them frozen until Christmas ~for about 5 months~ Do you think that will be ok?

Amy Vanlandingham One more question, about how long will it take the jam to thaw out? I want to give it in normal condition on Christmas, but also know it will need to be consumed in about 2 weeks after thawing... So would you say set it out in the fridge around Dec 21? Like maybe on the Winter Solstice?
we’ve found jimin’s jams
Got one question though, can i use pineapple instead of stawberry?
You may substitute fresh pineapple in place of the strawberries, Javeria Naseer. Pineapple is similar to strawberries because it doesn't have natural pectin, which means you may need to add more lemon juice to help the jam set.
I’m here to make strawberry 🍓 cake
Can we add kiwis to it?
*praying that no comments would be about Jimin* Why is our fandom so immature.
Uhhhhh is it possible to get this recipe for something alot smaller, because that is alot of strawberries to get
Hey, Pedro Miranda - You can change the recipe amount. It's easy! Here's how:
1) Find the recipe link at the top of this page under the "published on" date (or
click "Show More" to open the box to find the link). We'll save you a step. For this recipe, it's allrecipes.com/recipe/strawberry-jam/detail.aspx
2) Click on this link to open the recipe page, and then under “Ingredients,” find the line "Original recipe makes 5 cups" (or 6 servings or whatever the finished amount is for each recipe).
Yum!
Ok, it's great that y'all are tryna help our boi Chim Chim out, but make sure you remember not to use too much Suga.
how long can a jam be preserved?
Up to 2 years if you do it right
LITERALLY EVERYONE IS COMMENTING THINGS ABOUT JIMIN WHY ARE ARMYS LIKE THIS
I got yes jamzzz
Could you `add some grapes, cause they are on sale?
can i use less sugar? like half even?
Using less sugar will prevent the jam from thickening, s m. It will be more like strawberry syrup. To get the jam to set with less sugar, you will need to add pectin. You can buy a version of pectin that's low-sugar and use less sugar that way. Hope this helps.

Can you show as how to make blueberry jam
Thanks for your question, Floriana Osmani. Making blueberry jam is about the same as strawberry jam, but it looks like it's a video we need to add. Until we do, here are two blueberry jam recipes:

What is the point of jam without pectin ?
can i not add sugar and have it all natural since im bodybuilding and only looking for clean food
Sorry, Mohammed Abusalem, but the berries need sugar to jell and become a firmer mixture. You could skip 1 cup of sugar if you want to.
JIMIN I WILL SAVE YOU AND YOUR JAMS DONT WORRY BBY❤
I have to watch a bunch of jam videos to make sure that I get Jimin the right one
