When I was about 6 or 7 my mum and dad were sooo excited about our next holiday. But I was gutted cos we had to leave for the airport just as Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea was starting! Awh!
Yep, I get goosebumps too, the feel of those orchastraic themes definitely give an emotional feel and it was perfect for those times. Love it to this very day.
OMG! Listening to this, I'm suddenly transported back to Sunday evenings in 1967. A wide-eyed 12 year old who was fascinated by this series. 6PM CDT on ABC!
OMG yes! The only insentive to get me in the bath ready for school Monday morning. What a time to be a kid. This, Thunderbirds and many others. Happy days. Oh why did we have to grow up! :(
So pleased you included the end theme that has the section of music included (that is often shortened or edited out) 1:06-1:15, a lovely theme of a great TV series. Thank you for uploading this.
Awww... seaQuest wasn't all that bad. The latter half of the second season and third season sucked overall, but had a good two parter episode. The sub itself is a fabulous design along with the Stinger mini-sub.
Admiral Nelson went through so many different things that even if I never had experience on a submarine before I have a pretty good idea on what to do if something happened
I did also! I remember it was yellow. It was for the bathtub or a backyard swimming pool. Later on I tried to play with it in a pond, where it sank it is probably laying there still, lol
Irwin Allen created many wonderful series during my childhood of which Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea was one. Others include Lost in Space, the Munsters and Addams Family etc PS this is the first time ( October 2017 ) that I have seen the introduction and closing credits to Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea since the late 60's and it brings back happy memories. My favourite childhood characters were Kowalski and Mr Morton, if I remember correct!
it was a great time to be a kid,so many great shows,Irwin Allen was a genius, and the crap they have now dosent even come close compare to the shows then.my favorite was lost in space it was on every Wednesday night at 730
Dr. Smith from Lost in Space was a unique actor Shakespearean from experience and no other comedian could have been as funny as him he picked a unique image the coward which was really funny
I wish I could time travel back to the 1960s, to be my young self watching voyage to the bottom of the sea & other exciting TV adventures of the time. I love you 1960s.
We had really good active actors that really consistent I'm not saying that we're not having them now I mean you know but I just don't have time to watch everything anymore
This really got me interested in some Marines and we had the nuclear the first nuclear powered submarine and we had Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea with Richard basehart there was a couple of the actors I can't recall them right now but they did excellent when they did this movie and it made you think about really what you what could be under the Seas they did a good job Admiral Nelson was my hero still is to this day I seen him riding with a motivated to motorcycles down the winding road he was in a Chrysler Imperial that's the one with the square I can't remember what year it was but I think it was a 1964 Chrysler Imperial and those are pretty cars and the guy in the helicopter came across the road and the guy climb down on the rope with a rifle and shot at Admiral Nelson hitting his motorcycle guys and then hitting his driver then the car turned over in the ditch Admiral Nelson got out with a 1918 45 caliber and shot the guy he must have been at least 500 me the way they made the picture look and he got him and I think he got the helicopter to I can't remember that far cuz it was a long time ago when I was a kid when I saw that this is the man Admiral Nelson is the man
I loved this show! It was on TV when I was in high school. I learned how to play guitar (after seeing The Beatles) and missed some episodes (we couldn't record them back then) because of band rehearsals and dating. Great memories, 1964-66.
I used to watch it as a 1970s kid. And they sure don't make these wonderful TV shows like they used to. I still love to watch the 50s, 60s, 70s, and very little 80s TV 📺 shows compare so called nowadays. These 📺 TV episodes made children believe in something, identified with, and be somebody? Nowadays sure don't have anything to offer to children but hate, destruction, violence, and terrorism.
After the end credits, surprisingly enough, the 1965-1981 20th Century-Fox Television logo is intact, usually it is plastered with the 1992 or 1995 20th Television logos.
My sisters were 4, 6 and 9 back then and when the music for the intro came on they would all race downstairs to the living room (the ONLY room with a TV) and when the announcer said "David Hedison" they would shout his name and kiss at the TV screen! lol
Sadly we recently lost another star of the show, David Headison 1927-2019 who play Lee Grane, and his friend co star Richard Basehart 1914-1984 who played Admiral Nelson.
@@hardcorehouse Allan Hunt was Crewman Stuart Riley from season 2 of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. Wikipedia reports that he was still alive, born in 1945 (age 76).
Is any of the theme music published for band? I always loved the end credits especially "that chord" right around where it says Theme--Paul Sawtell. You know the one!
You know, I am not usually a fan of remakes or reimagining of old films or TV series, but Allen’s productions like the Roddenberry Star Trek franchise has so much potential. An new VTTBOTS, Land Of The Giants, Time Tunnel. Indeed, Lost In Space was a farce but so was the first Star Trek film, just sayin...
Got to be honest, this was my least favorite show growing up, it was so boring, the stories just dragged on. But I love the set designs and the sub was really cool. But the one thing that kept me coming back every week was the flying sub. It made the whole show worthwhile
I wonder how many future 'bubbleheads' the U.S. Navy got who grew up watching "Voyage To The Bottom of The Sea". I wonder how many 'Bubbleads', who sit at their stations in the 'conn', hum the theme from 'VTTBOTS', while they're manning their stations.
The all new 2023 Chrysler Andrea Doria electric jet propulsion car. First of it's kind to go to a depth of 309 ft, electric jet propulsion, stabilized wing control, neutralized underwater controlled. 1957 Italian interior of designing. Wrap around windshield, 1957 fast back replica of the Norseman Chrysler Gia, a concept desIgn that went down with the Andrea Doria in 1956, off the coast of My Nantucket.
They should reboot it on Netflix like they did with Lost in Space. With sensitive treatment, good writing and a few Easter eggs thrown in, I'm sure it would be a massive hit for a whole new generation.
The Flying Sub was genius, though it was first thought of for the Japanese animation 'Marine Boy'. With all of the recent (2000-20) sci fi type of actual inventions, why has this not been tried? Or has it? Interestingly, though, a flying sub wasn't included in 'SeaQuest DSV'.
If you listen to music you could feel the quality that we had anyone I'm not saying the stuff to y'all doing today is not better but I'm saying listen to the stuff
Should colorize the first season. That way, it can be like all the next seasons. On for instance the DVDs, have both. It's the same with 'Lost in space'.
This takes me back 50 years to when I was a young boy. I remember the feeling of excitement when this came on the tv.
Matt Foley me too, I remember when I was a kid, watching these programs after school

@@menendezgilbert Remember Speed Racer, Ultraman, Land of the Giants?
Me too Matt! . I was a four year old in 1964
TV shows from the 60s had some of the best orchestrations.
Yes!!! @0:49 I get goosebumps!!
They could spent big on the orchestra, not in special effects. Lol
Great music and sound effects were part of what made the 60s sci-fi shows the best I ever saw. The Invaders same thing
Yep, I get goosebumps too, the feel of those orchastraic themes definitely give an emotional feel and it was perfect for those times. Love it to this very day.
And the announcers drama like voice also gives to the mood and feel, also the FBI intro and closing theme of those days gave that same feeling.
Star Trek but underwater. Great show.
Nop, this series has its own spirit.
Spot-on
I always thought of Seaquest DSV as Seaview TNG.

I was thinking that about while I Listening to credits.Suddenly I was a kid again in my living room
Same time as Ed Sullivan you need 2 TVs or reruns
What can beat The Flying Sub
Genius by Allen !
Flying sub was the stingray form as the Sea View
Pity we can only see the top half of the screen.
Should make a new TV series, "voyage To The Bottom Of The Screen"
Haha!
My distant childhood... good, very good times! Some tears now. Sorry my friends...
What great beautiful themes they had for these shows....
So pleased you included the end theme that has the section of music included (that is often shortened or edited out) 1:06-1:15, a lovely theme of a great TV series. Thank you for uploading this.
Does anyone remember when the Admiral turned into a werewolf? That was my favorite one.
i remember that one. that show has a sequel to it
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea remains far better than Seaquest DSV.
Dino Monzon you're right about that.
Anything from Irwin Allen from the 60s is still better than SeaQuest dsv
@@vanar6011 At least Irwin didn't include a cute 'talking' dolphin to draw in the kiddies..

The Flying Sub!!!
