@@ahairyhooligan I mean before that. Yes, the subboss theme is there but it’s not the whole song. When Ramona and Scott fight even older Scott first, before the evil exes
I feel like "Even Older Scott" makes the "comic" timeline worse off. If it'd just been 2 or 3 years, that'd have still gotten the point across about Scott's obsessive and self-destructive nature still being present without it wasting a CHUNK of his life. That and it's sad to see that despite all the growth comic Scott had, he STILL was just an evil ex waiting to happen and wasted so much. And Ramona who only had one good date with Scott sees this toxoc as hell future and STILL chooses to go with him? Trust he can change and be better? I think if it was just "Older Scott", I could buy that but EOS just makes it... seem like she's overcorrecting. That all being said, I still loved the series as a whole. Watching Ramona get the development and dealing with her past was genuinely interesting to see.
That's a fair critique. Maybe a year apart would've been more appropriate thematically. This is Scott Pilgrim however, and there's a lot of overdramatic characters and excessive flair. I agree though, with an integral plot point like this, a shorter timeframe would have made more sense - as 10 years pushed it into absurdity. Perhaps it was done as a reflection of the age between the original story and this show for the writer. Which may not be narratively smart for the context of the show but a writer's choice regarding the franchise as a whole.
What I think the series is trying to say is that for their relationship to work BOTH of them needed to grow as a person. Even older Scott ended up like that because Ramona never resolved her avoidant attachment trauma. Doesnt matter how much development Scott gets if he still has to carry Ramona's baggage himself.

Or in the movie, where Scott befriends this Nega Scott, symbolizing him coming to terms with his past. I think Even Older Scott is their take on it. It's different from being a symbol of Scott's sins, but instead is a physical warning of their consequences...
I wanna play THIS as a game now! Really hoping they make a refined version of the video game tie in, perhaps unlock members of the league as they are beaten, and of course cap it off with Even Older Scott as a final boss.
He who beat negascott but lost everything
Oh yeah, I can see it.@@apolo_olympus
older scotts a almost unkillable raid boss oh nice
Also it's so cool to hear the video game music in this
Does anyone else hear this song as a remake to The Dark One from the game?
It's the Subboss Theme my guy
@@ahairyhooligan I mean before that. Yes, the subboss theme is there but it’s not the whole song. When Ramona and Scott fight even older Scott first, before the evil exes
1:58 has no one noticed his ass hanging out lmao
I love that all the exes agreed to fight for Scott without any hesitation
1:13 He punched the highlights out of her hair.
1:13 he punched the
highlights out of her hair!
I love the movie reference when he throws his shirt off and says “what if I have a beef with you” which is a refrence to the movie
I like the fact that NegaScott theme from the game plays on the background. Very sweet detail

I love how she asks if Ramona is okay and not Scott. It shows that she’s grown from her obsession of him, plus it’s just funny to me
It feels so weird hearing abe's voice into a serious intimidating character lol
Oh shit even older Scott does punch Knives highlight out I thought that was blood
2:13 Scott just punched her in the boob! 😰
Love freacking Older Scott, Akuma Vibes.
I like how you can just see Wallace confused on where they went and seeing the spawn back in
Who would've thought Scott would become Sheng Long.
1:41 The madlads actually did it...they used the subboss theme!
2:05 KAKARO--- i mean.. RAMONAAAAAAA!!!!
Bro I loved how we got the boss fight music from the game😁
2:13 😮THE MORE DAMAGE HE TAKES THE STRONGER HE GETS
I was on episode 7 when I realized this is kinda like Final Fantasy 7 remake.
Kinda FF7R still follows most of the main story beats
But they have said this isnt scott from the comics... Thats why he still refers to neil as "Young neil"
I'd like to think this is Scott from the video game.
It's scott from the movie. That version of Scott never learned his lesson and instead double downed on his toxic traits
This is Scott at his full strength if he trained seriously and what looks like mastering his chi
I honestly thing what’s also sick is that they used the song from the video game Scott pilgrim vs the world too which I looooooooove
Like how in the VS scene everyone was ready to fight except for Stills, bro had that look like “yeah I think we’re dead”
Pretty cool they used the boss fight music from the game.
1 : 40 sub boss theme OF SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD THE GAME YAAAY!! ANAMANAGUCHI I LOVE YOU WOOORK!!!!!
It's funny. Even Older Scott had to fight all of Ramona's evil exs in order to date her and he eventually ended up becoming an evil ex himself.
He punched the highlights out of her hair! 😱
It was a nice twist for the exes teaming up with scott and ramona not gonna lie
Am I not the only one who thought this was a Broly reference at 2:09
