In the comic he’s a mirror to all of Scott’s toxicity so he can become a better person. In the movie it would’ve interrupted the pacing and at the end of the movie he’s already a good guy, so his reflection should mirror that too
For me, the most hilarious thing isn't just Scott having a nice conversation with his alter ego, is Nega Scott getting out of the scene like your average dude on the street 😂😂😂
the way i see nega scott is its scotts past, its who he used to be. and instead of destroying his past, he chose to accept it and befriend it. resulting in a peacful ending.
It’s just wild how out there and insane everything in this movie is, but they do it so consistently and the actors all commit to it 100% and that makes it work. One of my favorite movies of all time.

I remember being in college and seeing Jason Schwartzman the first time in the theater in Rushmore. He was so awesome that we couldn't wait to see his next movie. Then he made us wait like 5 freaking years, lol.
Knives deserved better than Scott. A part of the story is showing that neither Scott nor Ramona were particularly great people and that they left a trail of people that were hurt along the way.
