Here's a basic pattern for the Granny Square Candy Edition:

Instructions:
1st round:

4th round
Start from the middle with 2 half double crochets, then with 2 crochets, 2 double crochets, 1 triple crochet, 2 chains and vice versa until half double crochets and then all this is repeated but in reverse. Continue until you close the circle.
5th round
Start from the middle with crochet and continue to the corner, 2 chain, puff knot, 2 chain, continue again with crochet and repeat everything until you close the circle.
6th round
Full circle crochet
Finishing:
Once your granny square reaches the desired size, fasten off the yarn and weave in any loose ends using a yarn needle.
