Michael obviously brought a ton of entertainment value to the show, but I'm always amazed at how many people are convinced he's a good person. He's wildly inconsiderate and offensive; his scattered good moments don't make up for the dozen times in every episode that he makes someone uncomfortable.
that's not at all a redeeming quality. You can say that for the nicest most altruistic person and also for the most evil hateful person you've met. Michael is awful, selfish, egotistical, stupid and spiteful person. The times he's been a genuinely good person in the show I can count on one hand.
Man, I love how savage Michael is when it comes to Toby. Like Michael Scott or not, he helped put Scranton on the map, and promoted the legit Cugino's for their tasty bread (sadly it closed in 2022). For Scott's Tots, I just love how Stanley already knew ten years before that it would turn out this way, and he found it very humorous. I like how when he said "laptop", the students are like "Huh at least I get a neat laptop-" and go into a rage when he says battery. At least Michael motivated them and kept them off the streets, so there's that!
I love the bit when he’s showing David Jim’s performance report and basically choking on his words when he’s trying to talk up Toby to make it more credible
Dude the amount of cringe when Micheal told the students who he promise 10 years ago to pay their college tutoring, that he can not pay was like urghh.
Michael is literally my fav character in The Office. Of course his personality sucks and he's hateful and childish 90% of the time but he's also the most hilarious character ever lol. He's so pathetic and honest that he may be the funniest character ever created in my opinion (also, Steve Carell's acting is top notch)
He can be obnoxious and inappropriate - but he is definitely not ''hateful''... Nor he is so ''pathethic'' when he made all those awesome sales or negotiated with David and Charles etcetera
Funny how people remember Michael's handful of kind moments and ignore his episodic nastiness. It's clear over the course of the show that his staff tend to hate him. A few nice words at his characters end doesn't change how horrifying he is.

At least they learned enough from him to keep the show going. There are so many shows that just die after the 'main character' leaves.
Michael was the glue that held the whole show together. People equally loved and hated him. Everyone’s reaction in ‘The Lover’ was my favorite ❤️
