MCR has two guitarists, Ray Toro and Frank Iero. That’s how they’re able to double up all the solos and rhythms. Ray is an absolute genius, Frank has great energy. Guitar is definitely one of the major highlights of their music for me
Helena (aside from its meaning in the concept of the album) was written by Gerard as an angry letter to himself because the band was away on tour for about a year, and right after they got back his and Mikey’s grandma died. She had supported the band more than anyone getting started (even buying them a van so they could go on that tour) and he hated himself for not being there for her before she died. The video is amazing and you should check it out, it’s basically the band saying goodbye to her.
Wow! That is a heart-braking story. I can’t imagine the sadness their hearts must have felt when they went through this. However, I’m thankful that they unloaded those feelings into such a beautiful song like this one. I guess that’s why it brings an ominous tone at the beginning and then such peace later on. Amazing soundtrack. Thank you for your support and comments dude! I appreciate them so much😁❤️
The person screaming in the background of prison is actually Bert McCracken, the lead singer of a band called The Used (they’re great too, I definitely recommend listening to them if you get the chance!) Also yeah, that guitar solo is insane. I’m still trying to learn it lol, someday…
For anyone wondering the 2 on the cover are the “demolition lovers” the story goes that a woman and man die together, the man goes to hell and the woman to heaven. The man misses his wife and wants to be reunited with his wife. So he asks the devil for a favor and he has to kill 1000 souls to get with his wife. The last soul ends up being him. Also Helena is about Gerard and Mikey’s grandmother who passed away, she was a big inspiration for Gerard. Her name was actually Elena but I think Helena was a nickname if I’m not wrong
The Ghost of You is one of my favorite songs ever made, there is so many little things going on during the song. Simultaneously the music video for it is top notch. Highly recommend watching it if you haven't already.
- Helena is about Gerard and Mikey's grandma - You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison has guest vocals by Bert from The Used (The higher vocals, reverse laugh, the laugh at the end, the hotel line, the screaming)
- Both Helena and Ghost of You hit harder if you watch the mv with it Helena is in a funeral scene and Ghost of You is in a war scene (I'm pretty sure its the storming of Normandy beach specifically) *Also I recommend that you do the bullets album next since you've done the 3rd and 2nd album you might as well do the 1st! It's also my favorite album!!
Thank you so much for all the insight and references! I’m gonna make sure to check it out! And it’s interesting to see all the little details come together throughout the album and make one meaning out of it, later on to find out that there’s sooooo much background story behind every song. Extremely interesting. Once again, thank you for your support😁🫶
Three cheers is a concept album!!! The 2 people on the cover are the demolition lovers, who got killed in a shootout at the end of mcr's first album. The demolition man goes to hell but the demolition woman goes to heaven, and the man makes a deal with the devil that if he kills 1000 evil men, he can be reunited with his lover. So the album is about him killing these people, and his shifting mental state as he loses and doubts himself but keeps going for the sake of his lover. In the last song, he realizes that the devil tricked him and the last evil man he has to kill is himself, but he figures its better off that way because killing all these people has changed him so much that hes no longer the man the demoliton woman fell in love with
Also, im still watching the video, but i need to add that you know what they do to guys like us in prison is literally about gay prison sex. Like im not even joking
Also, on im not okay (i promise): from what i can tell, it isnt really part of the wider story of the album. To me it kind of has a similar vibe to in bloom by nirvana, in that the girl the speaker is talking about totes herself as not okay and totally in the scene whereas the speaker is actually not okay but yet has to be the one to take care of her
Black Parade is a really good album from a storytelling aspect, and artistically, but this album is always going to be my favorite from MCR. Regarding the "I don't want to be an English teacher" when it comes to vocalizing your interpretations; You shouldn't feel like that's a negative thing. Allow yourself to intake the music and voice any thoughts you may have. It's your channel, and even if you think they're dumb thoughts, you can always cut them in the editing process. Much love dude. ^^
Dude you’re freaking amazing. I love my subscribers because of this reason. Y’all are all super laidback and cool in every possible way. Thank you so much dude for supporting the channel and giving some good feedback. You rock💪🫶
One of my favorite things (of many because i obsess over them) about MCR is the layering of tracks they do. A huge part of the Black Parade album is the thickness of vocals there are and how it adds to the whole “Parade in the city” kinda thing. In “You Know What They Do to Guys Like Is in Prison” Ray actually recorded both parts of the solo and when layered together they put one part on side coming together to make a fire ass solo. The layering is even more pronounced in the solo for “I’m Not Okay” as I think and it sounds like there’s 3 different parts being played and maybe another repeated part for fullness making 4. But I swear these guys are musical geniuses
SPOILER - Meaning of the album: According to Wikipedia these are Gerard Way's words - "the story of a man and a woman who are separated by death in a gunfight and he goes to hell only to realize by the devil telling him that she's still alive. The devil says he can be with her again if he brings the devil the souls of a thousand evil men and the man agrees to do it, and so the devil hands him a gun. That was the idea behind the concept, the record ended up being much more about loss and real life than anything, so I would say it's a good split.". Also, from what I am aware (I think Gerard also mentioned this but I don't remember when and I keep finding similar stuff online), at the last song the devil reveals that the last soul is the protagonist's soul, which means he will never get to see his lover again.
How to blow someone’s mind in a simple paragraph? Read this comment right here😂 DUDE… THATS A CRAZY MEANING. I cant believe that it all unfolds like that and that it is connected in those ways. Now that I look back, I can see where he’s coming from on different parts of the story and it’s super cool! I wouldn’t have known this unless you shared it with us. Thank you so much dude!💪
she isn't still alive, they both die at the end of bullets (demolition lovers). she goes to heaven, he goes to hell, the devil tells him that he can be with her if he kills 1000 evil men. but he has to be brought back to life to do that, so it doesn't make any sense that she's still alive otherwise he would just go back to her. also she doesn't know any of this is happening (I never told you what I do for a living). and yes he is the final soul.
@@introvertedartemis Yeah the part of she still being alive didn't make much sense to me either, but since I found that on wikipedia as what looked like a quote from Gerard I thought that was it
@@introvertedartemis she is alive...or at least, the Devil tells him that she is. The offer is that they would be reunited on earth after he kills the 1,000 evil men and keeps his side of the bargain. Until then, the Devil still controls his soul, so, he can't just go find her on earth. For her, there are various interpretations. She either commits suicide in Cemetery Drive, he's separated from her again by being the 1,000th soul in I Never Told You What I Do For A Living or the Devil lied and she is already in hell and eternally separated from him. Here's the audio that all of the Gerard quotes are referencing (Take out the spaces): https: // www. youtube. com /watch? v=pUSczXcxe9Q#t = 106
man if you like dueling guitars you are gonna love what the post-hardcore genre has to offer. great reaction, i love this album and it's cool to see how excited you are about the music! ray toro (MCR's lead guitarist) plays all the solos on these records and absolutely kills live, he's a crazy good musician. you can tell how his style and the rhythm guitarist Frank Iero's style really complement each other and make this something special. If you don't know them already, my rec is to check out rage against the machine. tom morello does things to a guitar that sound impossible. anyways thanks for the vid again and hope to see more!
They are both such underrated guitarist. The way they play and it goes PERFECTLY along with the songs is insane. Thank you so much dude for all of the insight and support! 😁💪
This album made me fell in love with this band. This band saved myself. I'm 31 now, I've been a hard-core fan since I was 13. I went to their The Black Parade tour when they came to Brazil back in 2008 and also had the privilege of getting to meet Gerard Way ( the vocalist )here in Brazil back in 2015 ( such a nice dude).
NO WAY. YOU MET GERARD WAY?! Bro you are one of the luckiest people I’ve interacted with😃😂 nah on a serious note, this album and all of the ones I’ve heard so far are absolutely out of this world. INSANE MASTERPIECE. Thank you for your support and all your insight!😊❤️
Amazing, I didn't really like what I saw from their live performances online but meeting Gerard Way wow, he really seems like an amazing guy, you are lucky indeed xp.
idk if anyone’s said this already, but the intro of “Give ‘Em Hell, Kid” usually doesn’t have the spoken vocals over the bass guitar. It’s pretty much ONLY on Apple Music, so I got sooooo excited when I realized that’s what you were listening on 🔥🔥🔥
As far as music videos go, I always recommend I'm Not Okay (directed by the guy who'd eventually do The Amazing Spiderman, so it almost feels like a fake movie trailer) and Na Na Na which is just so darn fun to watch (mad max vibes if you're into that). I really love hearing your perspective on these albums! I'm a longtime fan of them so I'm vicariously living through people like you who are hearing it for the first time. Looking forward to part 2!
Hi Nacho! Have been waiting for this reaction since I finished The Black Parade videos. I previously commented that this is my favorite album from MCR and I’m absolutely thrilled that you are enjoying it so far! I love the way you get so excited about the guitar work, it’s amazing. I don’t know if you knew this but MCR has two guitarists Ray Toro (lead) and Frank Iero (rhythmic) they are absolutely amazing at what they do. This album has such amazing guitar solos and I am so happy you’re enjoying them. This album is a loose concept album. I’d encourage you to look it up, even though it’s not really necessary to know the story to enjoy it on its own. I have to comment that I’m glad you’re reacting to the Apple Music version of this album. There are some details I can hear on Apple Music that I cant on Spotify, two examples are: In the song “Give ‘em hell kid” you can hear Gerard talking In the intro, that’s exclusive to Apple Music. Also in “To the end” that pounding you hear, you can’t hear it on spotify. It’s pretty neat. I have such a hard time picking favorites on this album because I love all the songs so much. I think they’re all my faves. Can’t wait for part two! I love seeing new people discover and fall in love with their music! They have been with me since I was 12 and I’m now 30. Their music has been my companion through the toughest times. They’re really special to me. I’m so happy I got to see them live in Venezuela in 2008. Last year I got to see them for the second time in Chicago and it was absolutely amazing. Hope you react to the rest of their albums. Also, as others have said, check out the music videos! Thanks so much for the reaction!
YOURE SO LUCKY YOU GOT TO SEE THEM LIVE. I’ve been really wanting to lately not going to lie😂 I love your comment because it’s so detailed with so much positive feedback. I realized the Apple Music version was much better after I uploaded it and someone else said the same thing😂 btw, I figured they had two guitarists after I reacted to the video of the black parade (ps coming soon) and honestly it was badass. They’re amazing guitarists. I appreciate you sticking around so frickennnnn much. You rock dude. Your support and comments mean the world to me thank you!❤️😁
I was lucky enough to see them in May last year, honestly the atmosphere was unmatched it was crazy. MCR will always be iconic and i hope with them reuniting they produce a new album in the coming years
and also to add the meaning behind the album is this; It was to be a tale of how two murdered lovers, one in heaven and one in hell, could be reunited should the male partner harvest a thousand souls.
I WANT TO GO SEE THEM SO BADLY. You are crazy lucky. That energy is unmatched from the live videos I’ve seen. Anyways, thank you for your support on the channel, means a bunch to me🫶😁
Helena is the song I want played at my funeral. Every time I hear it, during the slow “can you hear me, are you near me? Can we pretend to leave and then, we’ll meet again when both our cars collide” I don’t know where we go when we die, but I will be with my brother again, whether it be in some afterlife or in a black nothingness void of absolutely nothing. We all will be there one day. My brother passed away in a car accident in 2017 and I think about him every day and MCR’s music helps a lot with how much I miss him.
Im so sorry for your loss. You seem like an amazing person so I’m sure your brother was extremely thankful to have you in his life. I’m extremely glad that you’ve stayed strong and still keep going to this day. Much respect to you and thank you for your support on this channel!🫶
@@nachobusinezzreacts I love MCR, they have impacted my life a lot. I’ve been reliving listening to them the first time again by videos like yours. Love your input on the albums. You should check out their first album!! “I brought you my bullets, you brought me your love.”
I absolutely love how much you appreciate the instrumentals on all the albums you react to! You've given me a whole new perspective on these songs and I've started to pay more attention to what's going on behind the vocals every time I listen the songs. I also just find it funny how you tend to talk more about the guitars than anything else. I also have to say that you are amazing when it comes to analyzing the songs. It's very interesting to see what other people think the story behind this album is. If you're interested, I'd recommend watching the cozy representative's video analyzing the story behind this album, it's a really good watch!
omg bro you made me smile throughout this whole comment😂 that’s so nice of you bro, thank you so much for all the support and I’m hella glad that you enjoy the videos and that you can get another perspective of it. I’ll for sure be watching that video to get a better understanding😁💪
I've actually made a mistake in this comment lol. I said the analysis video was by the cozy representative, when it's actually by theo's ghost. I just got them mixed up because the cozy representative has a video exploring the era, not the album. But I'd still recommend checking both videos out! They're pretty great. Also, I'm glad you had a nice time reading my comment :)
Your analysis are very good. Your interpretation of the songs are nice to listen, even though I already know all the background of those songs but it's really cool to listen from another perspective.
you’re so close on the meaning of the album… this elder emo is quite proud of you 😃 Gerard started out as a comic book writer before the band, so some of his ideas are going to be a bit… out there.
finally 👏🏻👏🏻 thank you so much! i would also say that this album made me fell in love with this band. i've heard it only this summer (for some reason 🤔) and since then it's one of my favorite bands. i've started listening to music again and found many great artists and bands thanks to mcr. so glad you liked «to the end», imo this song is extremely underrated and it's one of my favorites!
OMG HI ANNAAAAAA! I reacted to this one just because you mentioned it! Everyone, thank Anna for this amazing video honestly😂 I loved the song to the end, it’s one of my favorites. Glad to see you tap in back with the channel! Hopefully you’re here for part 2 next week😁🫶
hell yeah! my favorite mcr album glad you like it as much as i do. cant wait for part 2, thank you for the venom is probably my favorite track off the whole album
@@enygma7725 interlude is a great setup to thank you for the venom as well as being just a cool track in general, but i mean every song on this album is great imo
duuuude you made me feel so old! haha but you have a great critical ear! you hear stuff immediately that it took me numerous listens to catch. it's been great watching you discover my favorite artist and experience them for the first time
Dudeeeeeeeee thank you so much😄 it makes me happy that people enjoy my videos and have fun watching them. If this is your favorite band, then your musical taste is through the roof📈once again, thank you for your support 😄❤️
hell yeah! Can’t wait for part two! If you ever consider watching music videos I think you would love checking out MCR’s music videos, especially The Ghost of You, I’m Not Okay (I promise), and Welcome to the Black Parade (I list all those cause I simply could not exclude any of them, they’re all so insane). Another thing to consider is their last album Danger Days, is much different but a great listen in my opinion. The music videos for two of the songs in that album is a must!
Hell yeah dude I got you on that reaction! I’ll be recording and posting it soon😁 thank you so much for your support and for watching the video dude it means a ton💪
Three Cheers is still my fav album to this day. It meant so much to me when it came out and still holds up. Black Parade is fine but never resonated with me as much.
Doing two guitar solos at once is actually pretty common, just most of the time they cloud each other so it's not obvious right away. That's why they pan them Left and Right so you can hear them both at the same time.
@@nachobusinezzreacts Brian May of Queen is probably the most notable for layering his solos with multiple harmonies, and MCR actually takes a lot of influence from that department.
I'm Not Okay has always come off to me like a person who's very over putting up with their best friend's drama. "If you wanted honesty that's all you had to say, I never want to let you down or have you go, it's better off this way, for all the dirty looks, the photographs your boyfriend took," etc. "What will it take to show you that it's not the life it seems? I've told you time and time again, you've sang the words but don't know what it means to be a joke ...I held you close as we both shook, for the last time, take a good, hard look." It's always come off to me like the person he's talking to is very messy and won't help themselves, and this is him kind of exploding on them and telling them how much their drama and unwillingness to change/get help has negatively impacted his life.
DUDE… THATS A GOOD ANALYSIS! props to you! I didn’t think of it that way and that makes so much sense! It’s funny how you can hear a few lines and start to connect everything together, yet they don’t give it to you straight in the face. I love this album! Thank you for all your support and insight, couldn’t appreciate you any more❤️😁
@Nachobusinezz MCR has been my favorite band of all time for almost a decade with lyrics I've connected to in the darkest moments of my life. There's always something to find in their lyrics, but like you said, they don't make it easy 😂 I'm so excited for part 2! It's really awesome to see someone react so enthusiastically to music I've loved for years :') I especially appreciate your knowledge and ear for music and instrumentation! I somehow NEVER ONCE noticed the double guitar solo in You Know What They Do until you pointed it out, so yeah. Very very solid reactions 😊
@@idesireahimbo dude you almost made me shed a tear🥲😂 thank you so much, I can’t express how appreciative I am of those kind words. I’m very glad that you enjoyed and liked the videos and hopefully I get to hear more from you! Part 2 will be coming very very soon😁👍
To the End is about a book called A Rose For Emily. I don't know A lot about it but what I've heard it's about a woman who kills her husband because he came out as gay. A really dark song but by far my favorite. Also,I never heard the hit in the beginning. Also last thing,MCR has 2 guitarists,Ray Toro (plays solos and cool things) and Frank Is so (keeps the rhythm). I suggest you listen to Frank's stuff. I suggest Stomachaches than to move on to Parachutes. Great video!
Thank you so much! That information about to the end is amazing cause I had some idea of what it meant but I wasn’t 100% sure. Thank you so much for your support and I’ll be looking into your recommendation😁🫶
MCR has 3 guitarist. Ray Toro, Frank Iero & head man Gerard Way’s Brother Mikey Way…… The percussion is SIIC. I hope that you’ve learned by now that “Helena” is not just any girl……the song was written for Gerard & Mikey’s grandmother when she passed away. She was a huge supporter of them. I can’t wait till you listen to “danger days” if you haven’t already. You will be craving to listen to MCR by the time it’s all said and done. Also, the songs don’t mean what you think they mean. Gerard is a lyrical genius……. Sometimes you have to look up the meanings to get the meanings of each song…… Not one of their songs is bad……that’s all I have to say. For now……🖤🥀♥️~MCR
We'll make an emo out of you yet haha! It's so crazy seeing someone just getting into mcr as someone who was basically raised on their music. If you want to check out more staples of the scene, I recommend Pierce the Veil. More metal than mcr but still similar enough that the fans overlap a lot.
Dude to be honest I’m surprised I never heard of them before🥲 but it’s honestly thanks to everyone who recommends the videos that I expand my taste in music. Thank you for the support and the recommendation which I’ll check out for sure😁👍
THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH FOR LISTENING. MCR means a lot for me and I was glad to see your honest and good reaction. you are very emotional, and every song makes you go crazy, I like it so much, because I'm the same😂 I'm looking forward to the new video with three cheers for sweet revenge. I'M 100% SURE, THAT YOU WILL LIKE "THANK YOU FOR THE VENOM" (guitar solos are INCREDIBLY GOOD!!) and, also, I think you'll like "hang'em high"! As a recommendation: listen to their first album "I brought you my bullets, you brought me you love"!! It's my favourite album of all time! I think, you'll enjoy this. Keep going bro, you're very cool! (sorry my english is bad, but i was really trying to tell you about all these things)
Dude your English is amazing if you don’t speak English! I appreciate you so much dude! And honestly… I can’t hold back when it’s MCR bro😂 it’s such a head bop. Part 2 coming soon and once again, thank you for your support man, it mean a lot🫶💪
I see you have a video on Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge and The Black Parade. I would suggest you to explore their earlier and lesser known album "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love". Hope you enjoy it if you haven't already listen to it. Every song on it is top notch.
oooooo my friend…. Let me let you in on a little secret… (whispering) come closer…. That video is already recorded and I’m working on the editing so stay tuned to see it soon😉. DONT TELL ANYONE THO👀. Lol thank you for your support dude💪😁
For a good analysis of the story of this album Theo's Ghost has a video similar to what wendigoon's was for the black parade. He helps make a lot of sense of a very confusing/unclear story :)
I'm Not Okay is definitely a love triangle. In my opinion... It is sung from the perspective of a guy who has been Friend Zoned by a girl he really loves. He has to sit and hear all the stories this girl tells him about her boyfriend, Who is kind of a jerk, and always act like he is ok with it... But he has finally reached his breaking point and tells her the truth .. he is NOT OKAY just being in the background anymore.
Hey, your reacts are great dude! You were wondering earlier in To The End what was that little "video game" tune, and it's because mcr has two guitarrists! Ray Toro does most of the solos and riffs, while Frank Iero is the rythm guitar! They are both insane at it, hope you react to Danger Days! It's the most different album of theirs, but I think you'll like it, especially the guitars in Na Na Na
Dude you’re amazing, your comment made my day! Thank you so much and I realized they had two guitars when I watched the video of the black parade, which is coming soon😉 hopefully I’ll see u stick around for some more videos and I’ll definitely check out what u recommended😁👍
This album is a sequel to their first album and it's about a man who's wife dies in a gunfight so he makes a deal with the devil to kill 1000 evil men in order to be with her again but he's tricked at the end because the last evil soul is himself so the only way they'll be together is in Hell
As I can tell you definitely have good ears when it comes to music and production. You should definitely react to Michael Jackson's albums: Dangerous and HIStory
i don't wanna repeat so i'll say i second everything people said in the comments and also *please watch some of their music videos they're so good* quite a nitpick but i was suprised you didn't mention anything about the queer themes in some of their songs (on this album it's mostly prison & to the end). lowkey made me realise the mcr fandom is kind of a gay and/or transgender bubble that i've spent too much in when they were touring lmao anyway there's so much to analyse in their lyrics from that angle that there's an entire podcast about it and also the band has always been very supportive to lgbtq ppl and women in the alternative scene (and the lead singer is nonbinary too) okay i'm not gonna be writing an essay on that shit in the comments here but trust me i could cause it's a big part of their whole "dark themes with an extremely uplifting message" shtick that made them (and other "emo" bands by association) a target of a whole "satanic panic" thing in the mid 2000s that was literally just using a young girl's suicide to justify homophobia. (and on a brighter note the singer and the rythm guitarists making out on stage made me realise i'm gay myself lmao) looking forward to part 2
LMAO😂 dude I love your vibe and how you narrated anything. You know, I did not think about the “gay” or “queer” theme of this. It is very interesting because I did not realize it until you told me abt it. Now that I look back at it, and seem some more videos abt MCR, it was easier to distinguish it. It’s cool how they have these meaning sometimes you don’t even realize😂 Thank you so much for your support!😄🫶
Quick correction - Gerard isn't nonbinary. They do use he/they pronouns, but he's not (or at least doesn't label himself as) nonbinary (Fun fact! Their Danger Days character, Party Poison, is canonically nonbinary though :))
I went back to MCR through reactions (I used to listen to them back in like 2015) and now being a confident queer (in comparison to starting to figure shit out) made me love Prison way more than I did LOL
No offensive but “the guitar is doing something else” They have more than one guitarist And even if they didn’t they can still record more than one guitar track That little riff in to the end is the guitar Also you know what they do to guys like us in prison is while he is in prison Hence they said “come with your arms raised high” And let’s just say he dropped the soap
Watched your video today. I am much older than your viewers. I am SURE BY NOW, you have been transformed into one of us. Welcome to MCR, kiddo. They will change your music life FOREVER!!! 3 cheers is a MASTERPIECE
MCR has two guitarists, Ray Toro and Frank Iero. That’s how they’re able to double up all the solos and rhythms. Ray is an absolute genius, Frank has great energy. Guitar is definitely one of the major highlights of their music for me
Oh dude they are INSANE. AND THATS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. The energy and chord progressions as well as solos are out of this world
Bass guitarist is Mikey Way
Frank is the personification of a guinea pig that got into the caffeine, and it’s amazing.
I appreciate them so much😁❤️
Great truth and explanation…..yours is the only comments that I read.
17:11 "Whoever plays the drums is...*kiss*" this quote is funny because they fired this drummer not even 2 months after this album came out.
The person screaming in the background of prison is actually Bert McCracken, the lead singer of a band called The Used (they’re great too, I definitely recommend listening to them if you get the chance!) Also yeah, that guitar solo is insane. I’m still trying to learn it lol, someday…
I want to try to learn the guitar solo too but it’s kinda difficult😅 sloppy but it’ll be something at least😂
I love how intense your appreciation for a good transition is haha
Dude I couldn’t hold it back, it’s good music🤷♂️
"Would you be mad if I rewind"
I would be mad if you didn't. Love ya.
Lmao I appreciate you so much dude thank you for your support!❤️
I’ve seen many comments that I underestimated this song, so I’m gonna have to react to the music video now to see if I really did🤷♂️
- Helena is about Gerard and Mikey's grandma
- You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison has guest vocals by Bert from The Used (The higher vocals, reverse laugh, the laugh at the end, the hotel line, the screaming)
- Both Helena and Ghost of You hit harder if you watch the mv with it
Helena is in a funeral scene and Ghost of You is in a war scene (I'm pretty sure its the storming of Normandy beach specifically)
*Also I recommend that you do the bullets album next since you've done the 3rd and 2nd album you might as well do the 1st!
I love how he “hearts” every song……except the biggest song they ever made (arguably)….😂😂. Great review!!! I enjoy his reactions to MCR!!!
I’m THAT guy pal…😂🫶
Here's the audio that all of the Gerard quotes are referencing (Take out the spaces): https: // www. youtube. com /watch? v=pUSczXcxe9Q#t = 106
if you enjoy this album and their guitar work you might enjoy their first album for the energy alone.
Say no more😎
Does that mean we're getting a Bullets reaction soon??
I love them so much. So lucky that I was able to meet them here in Brazil back in 2008. They are all so nice ❤ best shows of my life
YOURE SO LUCKY THAT YOU GOT TO SEE THEM LIVE. I wish they did another tour so that I can go watch them. Thank you for the support!😁
man if you like dueling guitars you are gonna love what the post-hardcore genre has to offer. great reaction, i love this album and it's cool to see how excited you are about the music! ray toro (MCR's lead guitarist) plays all the solos on these records and absolutely kills live, he's a crazy good musician. you can tell how his style and the rhythm guitarist Frank Iero's style really complement each other and make this something special.
It’s pretty much ONLY on Apple Music, so I got sooooo excited when I realized that’s what you were listening on 🔥🔥🔥
The hi‐res digital version has it everywhere (Apple Music, Qobuz, Hi-Res Audio, etc.)
Omg thank you so much! You’re the best dude and thank you so much for support the channel😁🫶
Oh my god, it's here! YES.
WOHOOOOOOO! ENJOYYYYYY😄❤️
There are some details I can hear on Apple Music that I cant on Spotify, two examples are:
In the song “Give ‘em hell kid” you can hear Gerard talking In the intro, that’s exclusive to Apple Music.
Can we pretend to leave and then, we’ll meet again when both our cars collide”
I don’t know where we go when we die, but I will be with my brother again, whether it be in some afterlife or in a black nothingness void of absolutely nothing.
I appreciate you taking into thought what I interpreted from the album so far! Honestly one of my favorite. TOP 3 for sure!
you’re so close on the meaning of the album… this elder emo is quite proud of you 😃 Gerard started out as a comic book writer before the band, so some of his ideas are going to be a bit… out there.
LMAO dude I love your comment😂 as an upcoming emo music fan, I take that compliment😂💪 thank you so much for the support dude🫶
I think Gerard himself even drew the album's cover.
An album with awesome transitions between songs is Folie a Duex by Fall Out Boy
i love folie so much
finally 👏🏻👏🏻 thank you so much!
i would also say that this album made me fell in love with this band. i've heard it only this summer (for some reason 🤔) and since then it's one of my favorite bands. i've started listening to music again and found many great artists and bands thanks to mcr.
so glad you liked «to the end», imo this song is extremely underrated and it's one of my favorites!
OMG HI ANNAAAAAA! I reacted to this one just because you mentioned it! Everyone, thank Anna for this amazing video honestly😂 I loved the song to the end, it’s one of my favorites. Glad to see you tap in back with the channel! Hopefully you’re here for part 2 next week😁🫶

26:40 that other voice in the back ground is Bert McCracken the lead singer for the used you should listen to there Debut album
I will be for sure listening to some of that😁👍
the black parade turned 17 on the 23rd and so did i but three cheers is still my favourite mcr album
Three Cheers is still my fav album to this day. It meant so much to me when it came out and still holds up. Black Parade is fine but never resonated with me as much.
So nice to see you enjoying this masterpiece of an album 👏 this was peak emo angst and excellence. I haven’t seen this replicated to this day.
I'm loving your mychem reviews! Your reactions are so genuine and your appreciation of the instrumentals is lovely to see
Thank you so much! Hope to see you stick around for part 2!😄🫶
Doing two guitar solos at once is actually pretty common, just most of the time they cloud each other so it's not obvious right away. That's why they pan them Left and Right so you can hear them both at the same time.
Ooooo that’s something I never thought of or realized before. I’m gonna listen to all the music with guitar solos that I have again😂
@@nachobusinezzreacts Brian May of Queen is probably the most notable for layering his solos with multiple harmonies, and MCR actually takes a lot of influence from that department.
To The End definitely my f*cking favourite ❤️
OMG YES! Top comment right here💪
There's not a single song from MCR that I don't like, they were just so good.
Could not agree more😂💯
Ah! Finally🤩
ENJOYYYYYY😄💪
@@nachobusinezzreacts great video thx😌btw there's another solid transition between track no.6 & 7, thought u might be interested in that
I'm Not Okay has always come off to me like a person who's very over putting up with their best friend's drama.
There's always something to find in their lyrics, but like you said, they don't make it easy 😂
I'm so excited for part 2! It's really awesome to see someone react so enthusiastically to music I've loved for years :')
I especially appreciate your knowledge and ear for music and instrumentation! I somehow NEVER ONCE noticed the double guitar solo in You Know What They Do until you pointed it out, so yeah. Very very solid reactions 😊

This album really is on another level. Insane piece of art. Thank you for watching the videos and supporting the channel! Part two coming soon😁🫶
Ray Toro, Frank Iero & head man Gerard Way’s Brother Mikey Way……
The percussion is SIIC.
Sometimes you have to look up the meanings to get the meanings of each song……
Not one of their songs is bad……that’s all I have to say.

It’s only on Apple Music.
@@garethcampbell8415 that's weird 😳 I'm curious about that.

The videogame tune is definitely a guitar. MCR has 2 amazing guitarists.
Funny thing is I figured that out 5 days after recording this video😂

Hey, your reacts are great dude! You were wondering earlier in To The End what was that little "video game" tune, and it's because mcr has two guitarrists! Ray Toro does most of the solos and riffs, while Frank Iero is the rythm guitar! They are both insane at it, hope you react to Danger Days! It's the most different album of theirs, but I think you'll like it, especially the guitars in Na Na Na

DUDEEEEE YESSSSS I GOT YOU🤘
i don't wanna repeat so i'll say i second everything people said in the comments and also *please watch some of their music videos they're so good*
quite a nitpick but i was suprised you didn't mention anything about the queer themes in some of their songs (on this album it's mostly prison & to the end). lowkey made me realise the mcr fandom is kind of a gay and/or transgender bubble that i've spent too much in when they were touring lmao
anyway there's so much to analyse in their lyrics from that angle that there's an entire podcast about it and also the band has always been very supportive to lgbtq ppl and women in the alternative scene (and the lead singer is nonbinary too)
okay i'm not gonna be writing an essay on that shit in the comments here but trust me i could cause it's a big part of their whole "dark themes with an extremely uplifting message" shtick that made them (and other "emo" bands by association) a target of a whole "satanic panic" thing in the mid 2000s that was literally just using a young girl's suicide to justify homophobia.
(and on a brighter note the singer and the rythm guitarists making out on stage made me realise i'm gay myself lmao)
looking forward to part 2
from the vinyl insert "thanks to Bert for being my cellmate"
@@introvertedartemis oh my god and they were cellmates
LMAO😂 dude I love your vibe and how you narrated anything. You know, I did not think about the “gay” or “queer” theme of this. It is very interesting because I did not realize it until you told me abt it. Now that I look back at it, and seem some more videos abt MCR, it was easier to distinguish it. It’s cool how they have these meaning sometimes you don’t even realize😂 Thank you so much for your support!😄🫶
Quick correction - Gerard isn't nonbinary. They do use he/they pronouns, but he's not (or at least doesn't label himself as) nonbinary
(Fun fact! Their Danger Days character, Party Poison, is canonically nonbinary though :))
I went back to MCR through reactions (I used to listen to them back in like 2015) and now being a confident queer (in comparison to starting to figure shit out) made me love Prison way more than I did LOL
