    Fun Fact: Ray Toro plays the guitar on the left ear and Frank Iero plays on the right (They switch Rhythm and Leads on verses like Frank plays melodies on verses then switches to power chords when Ray is doing the solo) ;)

    25:30 fun fact, "you get what everyone else gets - you get a lifetime" is actually a paraphrased quote from neil gaiman's classic comic series the sandman (you might know it from the great tv show adaptation that aired last year). there's quite some popculture and horror references like this sprinkled in cause the guys are all massive nerds (love them for it). i'm a big fan of gaiman as well ^-^

    Gerard Way puts everything into every project he works on. What I love about their songs is that while they definitely follow the concepts of the albums, you can still interpret them so many different ways. He actually went to school to be a comic illustrator or something like that. When MCR was broken up for a while, he wrote a comic series called “The Umbrella Academy” which has been turned into a show on Netflix that he worked on. Crossing my fingers that we’ll get a new MCR album now that they’re touring again. They released a song last year which is definitely worth checking out if you want.

      NO WAY! THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY?! Dude that is insane. I cannot believe it. You’re telling me that this man is successful in writing comings AND music?! That alone says it all. I will definitely check out that song you’re talking abt😁 thank you so much for your support!😄🫶

    What MCR did so well on their first four albums is they captured the concept of grief so well. Bullets was heavy and melancholic with rage interlaced. Three Cheers continued that flow with more rage but also bargaining and Black Parade was acceptance and closure. Only for the wild card Danger Days to come in and be a more a bright and colorful album, because a new day has started. Gerard, Mikey, Ray, and Frank truly put their hearts into their work. And it's why we're still talking about them.

    So many reactors on RUclips focus so much only on lyrics and stuff but you really pay so much attention to the instruments and I love that. I've been learning guitar and Ray Toro is definitely my inspiration, he's so talented. The second guitarist, Frank Iero (who I've seen twice live with his own band) is amazing as well. I've seen MCR once last October and the energy and passion from them and the audience is insane, one of my favorite concerts I've been to.

    • @nachobusinezzreacts

    MCR is my absolute favorite. They most definitely were one of the most, if not the most, important factor in me crafting my identity as i discovered them as a mature 12 years old and 18 years later this album still hits the same as it did the first time. I cant wait to watch your other reactions to them. I love watching reaction videos because its like showin a friend my biggest nerd subject lol. But rarely do i find a reactor that zooms in and focuses and nerds out about the instrumentation. Thats exactly how my brain works too. This was fantastic

    You should listen to "I brought you my bullets, you brought me your love" Album first. Usually referred to as Bullets. It is not as well produced, and they are significantly more raw and less refined, but the songs are still great, specially the last song, which is, IMO, one of their very best.

    • @quietkilljoy
      @quietkilljoy Год назад +7

      Agreed! It’s not to everyone’s taste but personally it’s my favorite album of theirs. I love early, raw albums and Bullets tops that list. It’s killer if that’s your thing. Early Sunsets Over Monroeville is my favorite MCR song-the last minute is my favorite section of any song.

    Love how you appreciate how well produced it is. I’ve been listening to this album since the day it came out after hearing demolition lovers. It wraps you in sound, especially the last four songs. By the end of the song you’re surrounded. Also if you listen to the drums they’re very “marching band” style all the way through with how the drum rolls sit in the places they do, which leads in to the black parade album. It’s always going to be a 12/10 album for me.

  • @majesticburger3587
    @majesticburger3587 Год назад +3

    I’m glad you found the “official” concept behind the album, it would’ve been quite the surprise to find in the comments lol. Gerard has some crazy stuff going on in that brain he has
    Also I’m glad to see someone geek out so much about the instrumentals, there’s so much work put into them but a lot of times it becomes secondary to the lyrics which I think is sad. The lyrics are definitely good, no doubt, but it’s the little touches they put in the background that really make the song
    One last thing, I haven’t seen anyone else mention Conventional Weapons yet. It’s an album that they scrapped before Danger Days and later released as a series of EPs, it’s definitely worth a listen as well.
    Also if you get a chance, the b-sides for all of their albums are really good too. One of the ones from this album, desert song, is a real change of pace from the rest of the album but it’s a real heartbreaker. Definitely worth the listen.
