Changed the oil in my 97 Jeep Cherokee with Valvoline maxlife, forgot to tighten the oil filter and it blew all of the oil out before I knew it I drove about 3 MI from my house to the store and back. Big puddle of oil in my driveway, nothing on the dipstick and a big trail of oil from my house to the store. Refilled it tightened the filter, no problem. Runs and sounds great just like always. I love Valvoline cuz my dad who was a 40-year mechanic always used Valvoline.
It's been brutally cold recently. I run Maxlife 5w30 and Valvoline complete fuel system cleaner every 5,000 miles. I was outside last night, de-icing my wife's car with my truck running and it was purring like a kitten. I'm hoping to get at least 225,000 miles out of the truck, but if I get more great! Except for one time when I hadn't ran the engine for 2 days, I've had no stalled starts this winter, with temps down to -11! Thank you Valvoline!
It's best to take a little 10 minute drive in the colder months to get the moisture out of the exhaust and oil. Also if your vehicle is newer than 1996 you don't have to warm it up for more than a couple minutes. Otherwise you're causing more wear to the engine
Valvoline Max Life is my favorite motor oil!!! I have used it the most on all the vehicles I have owned. That's five and counting and I have never had a complete engine failure at all!!!
@@yousufyousuf6651 yes you can use it any mileage! Check out Ericthecarguy valvoline where he talks to valvoline engineers and they say you can use it at any mileage
Valvoline Max Life is the motor oil I have used the most over last 20 plus years on my own vehicles. I think it is some the best oil to use whether its a high performance V8, V6, or 4 cylinder engine it seems to work amazingly well!!!
I tested valvoline semi-synthetic on my QR20 engine for short term use and it served my van very well. (2000kms with very little colour change and no amount loss). Will shift to Valvoline Engine Armour for the long term use. Thanks to you guys for the reliable product.
I have spent $1000,s on motor oil over the years since I started driving, and almost all of it has been on Valvoline Max Life. It seems to be one of the best motor oils I have tried no matter what size engine, 4, 6, & 8 cylinders!!!!
I use conventional oil because I keep my oil changed. Never a engine problem... I'm running a conventional oil in a Yamaha X Max 300 which runs more rpm than a car BUT I change my oil every 1500 miles.
What OCI should be ok using Valvoline SynBlend Maxlife and which one for using Valvoline FullSyn Maxlife? How many months is SynBlend good for and how many months is FullSyn good for???
I was at a Toyota dealership and talked about the Toyota motor oil. I was told it is a synthetic blend oil. I go to a well I go to two Lexus dealerships and ask about the oil at the parts department and ask about the oil. I asked for full synthetic to which I'm told Toyota doesn't have full synthetic Toyota has synthetic blend. Instead of paying Toyota why don't I just get Valvoline synthetic blend. So I did
It is a full synthetic oil compared to being a synthetic blend oil. MaxLife has always been a synthetic blend according to the Valvoline tech that I talked to roughly 10 years ago. I asked him why some of the labels in the past said Synthetic Blend and some said nothing on the label. Sometimes the labels didn't say that so they must have changed it even on other High Mileage blends. He told me that it has always been a synthetic blend. But, there's a catch. According to him and other oil companies it is not a 50/50 blend. They are 20% synthetic and 80% conventional. In other words a 5 quart jug is only 1 quart synthetic and 4 quarts conventional. A single quart is roughly 6 ounces synthetic and 24 ounces conventional...because I'm using 30 ounces instead of 32 ounces to make it easier. And the high mileage are slightly thicker with high mileage additives. The only way to make a 50/50 blend is to make it yourself, by buying even amounts of Synthetic and Conventional and mixing equal proportions yourself. Either way, this stuff is awesome! Period! Hope this helped.
Id say depends on your motor like a ford 5.4l are notorious for the oil passages in the heads clogging if you dont change the oil every 3,000 regardless of the type oil due to the fact that that the oil passages are way to small to the heads its best just to stick to every 3,000 to 5,000 regardless of the oil thats just my opinion and take on it but im no expert
Your first graphic shows crankshaft and connecting rods dipping into the oil. That is a MAJOR misrepresentation of what happens in a modern engine. If engines did this it would aerate the oil and violently sling it around in the bottom of the engine. It would also slow the engine down and possibly over pressurize the crankcase. That's why we now have full pressure oiling systems!
Is your so called synthetic blend has 99% conventional and 1% synthetic? oh sure you can't tell tell that to the public. I love Pennzoil who shares that with customers. I do not recommend Valvoline to anyone.

What is the amount of synthetic oil is in a quart? Their is no standard on synthetic blends.
been trying to find this out for a while.

About 80-85% conventional, and about 15-20% synthetic.

Use no oil....so you can get that piece of shit off the road. That would be best.

The website says 3000-4000 miles between oil changes is that for full synthetic also?
Hi Joshua. We'd recommend changing your oil as often as is recommended by the manufacturer in your car manual.
@@valvoline Ok, thank you.
Could i use this on my cadillac dts 07 northstar engine?
Yes. Can be used in new or old engines. Don’t necessarily have to have high mileage to use it.
it would be cool if they colored it red
Full synthetic oil is better, yet when on a budget is definitely better than conventional oil, I noticed no mention of MAXLIFE plus on the video.
Thank you, Jon, for your feedback! 😀
whats robin's number?

I saw that too. Which is weird because Nissan recommends a 5000 mile interval for a regular oil change...

Why is your blend red? It looks like varnish or used oil. Your filters are so smale. Oem is 3 times the size.
