Your videos are excellent! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Glad you like them!
Thank you. I'm restoring an old T25 - still underneath it at the moment, but the 'cream' will be re upholstering the interior. I'm OK on my sewing machine but your videos on this are great, and really helpfull!. I was thinking i'd be trying to make a pattern from the old seat fabric, which i may still, but i think your way from scratch has been terrifically helpful so i'll have a go and use the old cover as reference.
Thanks again, much appreciated and hope your channel does well. :)
Thanks for the comment, I am glad to be of help

Where can you buy the fibertex?
would you consider uploading the pattern itself? i got vw t5 and can't undo chairs and take them out like you did... would be willing to purchase a pattern
Why can you not remove the seats?
Whats the thickness of the Mylar sheet sheet you use? seems to come in various thicknesses. Thanks.
I buy 250 microns thickness and 1.6 meters wide
Thankyou.
Question, what materials did you use to make the templates ?
Its called fibertex
Where can you buy
What is the material that you are using to make patterns, where can it be purchased? Thx
I buy it on a 90 meter roll from a company called kayospruce. it is called fibertex. not sure if the sell it by the meter. you will have to look on there website. www.kayospruce.com/
Question, I've followed how you have pattern a seat, the bit i,m stuck on is the sides of the seat to make the pattern from the side coming around to the front of the seat to follow the contour of the seat the patterning plastic is no longer flat i had to cut slits, so how do i glue that shape to the mylar with it not being flat
Some time it is better to make the seat boarder in 3 pieces, so you will have 2 side pieces and 1 front piece. That will give you a better shape that is easier to work with and a better fit
check out the link bellow to this video about 4:30 mins inruclips.net/video/vURAgCLKA74/видео.html
@@coastalcushionco8227 thanks, the seats i,m doing are ford galaxy seats and the boarder is in 3 pieces what i've noticed from the original cloth is where the 2 sides join the center piece the seams line is curved not straight, theirs a inch gap at the base where you fold the boarder under the seat, i can,t use the original covers because the fit wasn,t great and i have moved the seam lines for a better look also using a ridged 3mm vinyl scrim material not a stretchy cloth
@@slotjocky69 Sometimes with the seat border you may have to do a test fit of the cover before you finish the cover off completely, then you can make any adjustments to the seams and then finish the cover. not forgetting to adjust the original pattern also for the next time you use it
Thank you for your replies, i don't think i could of pick a harder seat to re-upholster for my first time, as for the head rest daunting to say the least, saying all that what a great skill to learn @@coastalcushionco8227
@@slotjocky69 headrest can be very trick , but good on you for giving it a go
Also what is the seam allowance ? 1/2 inch?
I use 3/8" but you can use 1/2". If you are using something with stretch like vinyl or leather i would cut a 1/4' seam allowance but sew at 1/2" to allow for the stretch.
@@coastalcushionco8227 thank you!
