😍I enjoyed this SO much! I don't know why I put off doing your portrait tutorials for so long, this was so easy and accessible!! And I can't believe I actually painted what I ended up with (even if I did use one of your sketches to follow along!) Feeling confident to start sketching more faces now, thank you Calvin! 💛
She is adorable and your instruction is so clear! I've just purchased your texture and brushes and am so glad I found you! Can't wait to complete part 2. Thank you!!
Wow! The selection tricks are amazing but I did not expect you would dare to use it on the shirt, there you took my by surprise! As a side note, I was a little kid watching cartoons when I noticed that they do the eyes without outlining the inner corner.
This is an absolutely amazing tutorial! I usually work with traditional watercolours and recently started digital art- it’s been frustrating trying to get the same texture and look with procreate but wow! I’ve learned so much :) Thank you!!!
Thank you so much! This is a fantastic idea, I never thought of a video like this. I'm working on Christmas themed tutorial right now, but I will try your idea after that For now I think you will like this video: ruclips.net/video/pweOdbfuQJc/видео.html
I love the way you explain things... very pleasant to watch and very well taught. Many people can do nice artwork, not everyone can explain it properly and nicely.
Just awesome. I am totally in love with your style, calm way to speak and to teach. You really managed it to boost my energy to make me start drawing again!
Love your video so much! Very clear explanations!! Can you draw some dessert or cakes in watercolor? Have seen many on website but don’t know how they are drew xxx
O yes, love this tutorial! I recently discovered Procreate and there's a lot to learn. Amazing what you do with selections! Thank you so much:-) Greetings from the Netherlands!
i dont mean to be so off topic but does any of you know a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my account password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
@Moshe Briggs Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Great tutorial, thank you! Quick question: when I make a selection, it puts lines across everything that’s not selected, which makes it hard to see where to add to the selection. I’m guessing it’s a setting to turn this on/off but I can’t find it…any suggestions? Thanks!
I love your tutorials, thank you so much!! I've noticed while trying to follow you, that if I use the freehand selection tool, then go to hue saturation and brightness, it asks if I am meaning the layer or the pencil. I don't understand the question, and yours doesn't appear to ask--but I have Procreate 5 on iPad Pro. What do you think?
Hi! Thank you so much ❤️ Due to an update in Procreate, it will now give you a choice when you use Hue Saturation and Brightness. Always select the 'layer' option and not the other one. Then, you can continue the tutorial like normally :)
Amazing tutorial!!!! :) I wanted to know that if we don't want to have the paper texture in the background and hide it, the colors start to look very dull! Is it possible to retain / get the same vibrancy in the artwork without the paper texture? Thanks in advance! :)
Hi Anushree! If you open up the paper texture 'group', you can see a layer at the very top called 'on/off Paper Background'. If you disable that layer, it will keep the texture and color normal on the artwork, but the background will stay pure white. Please message me on Etsy if you need any help with this, I can try to send a screenshot if that will explain it better :]
I love this tutorial. Would you be able to mention which brush you are using at the beginning to paint the face? Did you make any changes to the brushes? I bought the set. Thanks for these cute ideas!
Hi :) This canvas has a watercolor texture and it's 4000px by 5000px RGB (p3) and it's set to 300dpi but that doesn't matter unless you are saving PDFs
Don't you get a slight white glow outline when doing the transparency trick? It will show if you add dark background color behind the flattened image. Is there another tips that I missed?
@@SalsaDoodleDoo I'm so glad to help :) sometimes you have to make a bunch of copies, but it's good to try and do it with as few copies as you can. Sometimes if it's still a tiny bit transparent it looks ok
Yeah, but Alpha lock doesn't work so well if the brushes have a lot of transparency. I like masks but I think it might be too hard to follow on a tutorial like this - I try to stick with the more basic features in procreate

Amaaaaaaaaaaazing tutorial! Once again! :)
Wow this was really eye opening! I never thought to use the selection tool like this, I'm sure I'll try that for myself in my next drawing. 😍
I've been dying to try painting watercolors on procreate, and your videos helped me out a whole lot. Thank you! 🙂

Hi! This will usually happen if you make too many copies of the white version. Try to make as few as possible, like only 2 or 3
@@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 thanks for your reply! I see then, I was thought I had to make so many white till it's totally opaque :D

Hi I live in Iran and that's impossible for me to bye that kit. What can I do?
Hi! Can you send me an email: 5indri5ter at gmail dot com
Just replace both the '5' with 'F' :} Let me know if that makes sense.
@@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 I did :)
❤❤❤❤❤!
What the point of feathering ?
It softens the edges of the selection do the boundaries are harder to see :)
Actually I'm in Thailand so I'm not sure that the procreat in Thailand will have the same brush in your country....sorry....
calvin! i sent email to you, i solved problem already. thank you very much~!!
