  • I review the final year of the Shelby GT350 and talk about what makes this car so special, along with trying out the 2019 Shelby GT350 revisions that were made to the car and doing plenty of accelerations to hear the GT350 exhaust. Huge thanks to Anish for providing his 2020 GT350 for me to review! What do you think about the GT350?

    Random GT350 tip: Next time you drive one, feather the throttle between 4k-5k rpms. That’s the sweet spot for all the bangs and crackles! 🙌🏽

      10% throttle after a 30% with a second pause gives non stop pops. Mine did it all day. And my gas mileage was horrible all day too lol. It kills your cat by the way. But it was fun.

    Buy a car like this and never have to go to amusement parks for thrill rides, you own your own each and every day. I once drove a Mustang Cobra with a supercharger, the owner told me he had dyno'd it and it was pushing 550HP at the wheels. When I shifted from 2nd to 3rd I was already going over 80... viral beasts these machine are. The sound is surreal...

    So tragic and sad that the modern take on the classic GT 350 came to an end. But, with that said, my hat's off to all the engineers and builders at Ford for creating this fabulous modern engineering marvel. This is, by far, one of my Stupid Money (TM)/lottery dream cars, by far. But, for now, my used but cared for 2006 GT Premium will have to do. The modern GT 350 is, bang for the buck, in a league of its own. Congrats to all the owners out there! Enjoy your modern marvel with its classic heritage!

    One of my favorite cars I owned. Had the honor of daily my 2017 GT350 for a year and half and tracking it as well regularly. Making me miss mine a lot. One thing about the gearing though, I believe it is shorter than all normal Mustang GT. The reason why second gear takes you so high is because of the extra almost 2000 RPM.

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  2 года назад

      I thought I remembered reading that the gear was taller as well but I could be misremembering. The 2,000 extra RPM totally makes sense.

    • @davidyang8817
      @davidyang8817 2 года назад

      @@MattMaranMotoring Yeah it’s a confusing topic. Each gear up to 5th, GT350 has slightly longer gear but because GT350 has much more aggressive final drive (3.73 vs 3.55 in the GT), driving at the same speed, GT vs. GT350, GT350 will be running at a higher rev (which translates to shorter gears). Totally agree with your point about the gearing on the road though because both cars have second gear topping off at mid to high 80mph which makes it hard to enjoy all the time. Though because of the final drive in the GT350, it seems like it revs up quicker than the GT.

    the no.1 important thing to know about when searching a used gt350 is figure out whether the first owner has properly broke in the car. the voodoo engine needs the oil to heat up before one can put rev/load to it, especially during the break in period. If previous owner(s) didn't pay attention then it's much likely to consume oil and even blow up

      Engine, suspension and transmission are all not as good as the GT350.
      The Mach 1 is more comparable for sure, but still lacks the character that ultimately makes the GT350 as legendary as it is, for the same price and if I recall correctly still lacks all the suspension and track prowess as well.

      Again, very special car AND sounds incredible. but not a great value. The pp2 is probably only second off at the track and much cheaper. The SS1LE actually tied a gt350 at willow springs and again, much cheaper. Yes, the mach1 is over priced. Lastly, there is the topic of oil consumption, spun bearings, piston rings and engine failure. Hopefully g2 has fixed those issues.
