Pierpaolo has done one of the most brilliant collections I’ve seen in YEARS for Valentino. Now we see who was the head honcho for the house when Maria Grazia was on the team. I can’t believe what I’ve seen. This is couture, this is brilliance, this is what fashion should be. Bravo!!!
And THAT COLOR PALETTE WAS EXQUISITE!
Pedro, I couldn't agree with you more on this one. While he has managed to produce strong collections since the duo broke up, I feel as if this time he truly tapped into his inner artist and threw caution to the wind. And boy are we grateful for it! The archival colours, those frills and sashes paired with the romanticism of the giant plumed hats and opera music was fantastic. I am truly in love and have witnessed something that I haven't seen in years, a true couture show, one that delivered emotion, beauty and a voice of originality. Reminding us why we fell in love with VALENTINO in the first place. BRAVA PIERREPAOLO!!!

It's like discovering a person had their homework done by someone else ... Maria is due to be sacked from Dior, she's a disgrace to Couture.
Excuse me, for me it's nothing innnovative. And Valentino has worked with these cuts. and the colors I thought it was a delpozo show.
victor gutierrez vergara If you look on past references, he brought back the art of couture to modern times. He referenced the hits of Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior and the one Valentino Garavani and made it his. But, of course, to each, their own. And I respect that. ☺️

Haute couture is not about what fashion is ,but about the fantasy of what fashion could be. The haute couture experience is to overwhelm you visually with indulgent possibilities of decadent wearable art. Its rarely about practicality . You miss its purpose if you look for this. This beautiful collection epitomises that.
Gregory Ragland Agree sooooo much. Haute Couture is about indulging in fantasy. I like to think about it as common-wear in an alternate universe.

Even though I think lots of this fantasy can be very much wearable.
This is Haute Couture. From the first to the last look it was so strong and confident. A true fashion moment and obviously the show of the season. Everything is on point and I expect this direction for the coming RTW collection. I had lost my confidence about him but now I believe that he can be the next big thing.

“WOW JUST WOW”, is all I can say about Pier Paolo Piccolo’s Fantastic Fantasia presentation today for Valentino Haute Couture. The very first look was a completely stunning, the soft yellow couture in volume shape coat with the khaki trousers paired with a white translucent embroidered tank topped off with a stunning giant blue ostrich hat, what a fabulous first visual that odes to the spectacular playful sensibility of the most abstract Valentino collection to date. I could say more but this collection speaks for itself! BRAVO PIER BRAVO 👏🏾!!!!!!
Breathtaking. It almost made me cry. A real fashion moment. Peaceful and powerful. Striking, really... This is by far one of the most meaningful collections the house of Valentino ever put together in its long existence. Thank you very much for such beauty, Pierpaolo.

A breath taking collection since Christian Lacroix. A very delicious color palette matched with rich silhouettes, luxurious fabrics and very delicate details. Dior made a mistake pirating Maria Grazia when really, It is clear Piere Paolo is more Dior in aesthetic. Bravo! This right here is the best SS 18 Couture show.

That was hands down the best haute couture show of the season. It was so beautiful yet done in a very intellectual way. I love this new Valentino aesthetic. This was the first time I watched a full haute couture show from start to finish without being bored

Personally haven't been this impressed by a couture show since Galliano's debut collection for Margiela. It's a MARVEL of a show and such a reminiscent of the old great couturiers ( hints of Balenciaga, Schiaparelli, Charles James). Exquisite and SUBLIME. Long live Pierpaolo!!!

The hats are beautiful. Like feathery jellyfish clouds. They bounce and flow beautifully and elegantly!
Iknow I'm late to the party but this show made me cry from how fucking beautiful it was
Expert draping, expert tailoring, expert technique....with an otherworldly aesthetic thrown over it. THAT is how you do couture. You start with the most painstaking hand craftsmanship, the most intricate detail, the fussiest of luxurious textile, and you build a fantasy on it. You don't do it the other way around. This is how M. Dior created magic..and its how the true virtuosos STILL do couture. Harkens back to an age of glittering, glamorous society mavens, but still moves fashion forward. They didn't send the wrong designer to Dior....maybe its just time for Valentino to show us what real HC is. The powers that be separated the two designers for a reason, so Pierpaolo could shine on his own.

Love love love. He is so talented. Thank god Maria Grazia left for Dior so she is no longer getting credit for his talent, especially given her collections will put you to sleep faster than a zolpidem pill

Really beautiful...there were colour combinations I would never have even dreamed of putting together. But I guess that's why Pierpaolo is the mastermind behind these creations, and I'm just commenting on RUclips lol.
It's wonderful to see Valentino's freshness at the hands of Pierpaolo Piccioli.
Clearly the old rigidity and monastics were characteristic of Maria Grazia Chiuri, who transported this humor to the Dior. What is a shame!

I rarely say I like something more than YSL ... however Valentino's perfume and couture this year and for some time now is very comparable. just lovely.

Haute Couture like this show basically is just throwing out ideas. If you see some aspect that appeals, the color,the drape, the fabric, the silhouette or whaterver, then you go and tell them what is is you like and they work from there. The piece is created specifically for you. That's why some Haute Couture pieces cost more than many of make in a year. It really is wearable art, a masterpiece created just for you.
