very useful etabs course for beginners. Sir if the walls are not positioned on beams but in slab then how to calculate the slab dead load based on the walls.
Brother, it is a request to go through this project in full details, not only ETABS part but also go through SAFE for slab and footing design, staircase design, complete design of Shear Wall and full detailing of the building...There are a lot of tutorials on youtube which show only ETABS part but in order to complete a project, ETABS only is not sufficient...Please consider my request...Thank You
Definitely very useful video. I have a query, partition wall load was calculated 550 lft, but it is assigned 550 kip per ft. Isn't it would be 0.55kplft?
Sir BD can ask why you consider PW (Partition Wall) as Dead in the Load Patterns, i think you should put it as SUPER DEAD? (in the load TYPE). Have a nice day Sir...
Etabs treat both as DL load patterns/load cases. It's just a way to separate the DL(Self Weight of Structure) from other dead load (as you separate it as SDL) . Having both DL and Super DL in the software, you get the flexibility to interprets the results in a better way since you've separated the two. But if I don't do separate them nothing wrong with that.
Sir BD how about the multiplier factor isn't 0? Cause you put there as 1... just clarifying if when you use as Dead x 1 or if (Super Dead) SDL x 0? Thanks again Sir...
AKII may Allah Reward you for this currently I am using ETABS v18 and it has no UBC-97, did they removed it or what? which code do you recommend me to use in this version or shall I get back to v16?
First I would like to thanks for your nice tutorial! one question : why you selected bottom story beams only for partition wall load(550lb), isn't it would apply for all story beams except roof beam(parapet)? Generally wall load transfer at bottom story beam by gravity, but if someone (different flat owner) build his flat first at say 4th floor, then what about 3rd floor beam? Thanks again.
Asak brother, do u have the data for moment of inertia for beams, columns, slabs and walls with respect to INDIAN CODES (IS Code)?? if s, can you share the same....? Shukran...

So nice of you.Thanks.

Will try to cover all.
AssalamuAlaikus sir, Yes, please guide us from design steps to full detailings of all structural members. JazhakAllah
Please do check Beam column capacity in this tutorial sir

Wow, it's was revised just then.
Sir can you please post the link of your video on how to apply partition wall loads to null beams?

From 8 minutes & onwards.
@@Decodebd Thank you very much sir
Like beam colum and you already teach how we define thicknes of slab your excel sheet
Thank u for these series of lessons
Could you upload the files at least autocad drawing files.
Sir in this video why you multiplied (wall load with multiplier factor 1 as you would apply wall load by yourself ??

Sir would slab take the load of partision wall if beam is not provided undernith the wall?
Yes.

For upper floor I have considered partition wall loads as UDL over the floor area (not linear load on beams). You can consider linear load also.

Sir, in ETAB 18.02 "UBC 97" not available in load pattern for seismic. what would be the alternate code to be used instead of the said one.?
ASCE-7-16
Thank u Sir.
Can I asked one question who is the define or fixed size of members of structure architecture or structure engineer
Str Engr.
@@Decodebd how sir please make video on this topic your video is very helpful for us please sir
Assalamu Aleikum. Shouldn't the partition load (PW) be Super dead? ...... or at least the multiplier to be 0?
Nothing differs with SDL. Self weight multiplier must be 1.0
