- Phase Two of Cichlid Bros continues today with Troy's basement aquariums. In this video, we unbox some new equipment and new cichlids.
I picked up 3 blue dolphin cichlids, 2 aulonacara rostratum, 2 sulphurhead peacocks, and 1 mdoka white lips. Once some of these growout, I will move a few males into the display tank. Can't wait to watch them grow!

You can't go wrong with Imperial Tropicals - Mike knows what he is doing. Awesome cichlids.
Agreed! And thank you!
How are the price ranges for this seller compared to others?
@@PULAG I would say it depends on where you are located due to shipping. If you are anywhere on the east coast mike at imperial tropicals is the way to go or see Jack Wattley Discus. Gabe over there is an expert look him up on RUclips. He’s been breeding Discus for like 30 years. He has some nice plecos and angels and some randoms also. FYI Jack Wattley Discus is out of Miami
@@edub1170 Right on, thank you. Yes, I'm indeed in East coast. Looking for some cichlids andoddball, and I only have retail LFS with extremely limited selection.
@@PULAG it will change the hobby for you trust me. These guys are breeding these fish in house and feeding and culling appropriately so what you get is much higher quality. I’m about to order some orange laser Cory’s and a few gold nugget and blue phantom plecos. good luck!!!
Super dope video and super dope unveiling of the beautiful cichlids💥🤟👊🔥💯❤️🫶⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🫶
Thank you!
@@CichlidBros anytime bro 🫶🤟👊💪💯
I love ordering juvies and watching them grow 💕
1:08 the severums are fighting haha
Very awesome new cichlids! The Madoka white lips is awesome looking right out of the bag! Congrats on them! I
Thank you!
Ordering online has become my go to. I will always check my LFS first, but more often than not, they don't have what I am looking for and I can easily get quality fish delivered to my door with a few clicks of the mouse! I love the Blue Dolphins. They are my all time favorite Hap! Can't wait to see as you document their growth!
Agree with all of the above! Thanks for watching!
Nice group of fishes bro...Loving the new addition of modoka white lips fish in the tank. 🐟 😍
Thank you! Excited to finally have one 👌🏻
Great vid, keep them coming. Thanks
Will do, thanks for watching!
Nice cichlids bro's beautiful tanks 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤❤❤
Thanks!!
5:6 The best fish walking behind You 😂
3:27 Your cat in the background. 😄
Lol, yep my two cats make some cameos in this video
My Lethrinops are my pride and joy tho lol
I may just have that on my list!
Looking good!
Thanks!
Love Hygger! I use the 24/7 my plants and fish love it way more than the Fluval I had. Set it and forget it! I love all the great vids even though I only have two cichlids at the moment.
Nice, I'm looking forward to it! Thanks for watching
Sweet Wickes video
cant go wrong with the dolphins
🐬 🐬
Big things happening. Thanks for sharing, Troy!!
Thank you! 👊🏻👊🏻
Nice fish hope you are getting a bigger tank can't wait to see
Love the African cichlids , hard not to buy them all
Agreed!
Thanks for the video. I just made a $250 order on Imperial Tropicals and am glad that you seem to be happy with them. I can't wait to get my new cichlids! I did the same as you, I ordered 4 electric blue acra 4 more angels and another 4 red hump cichlids (unsexed) in hopes of a male and female.
Awesome! Best of luck with the new fish!
@@CichlidBros Thank you, have a good day.
Nice!!!
Troy I hope you have better luck than I did with that hygger heater. Mine gave out after 6 months although the seller did send me a replacement I was disappointed that in 6 months the first one failed. Yours also looks to be a newer version of the 800w heater than mine.
Any how can't wait to see the new custom Aquarium. I wish I could afford a 2nd custom Aquarium but being retired on a fixed income makes it hard. But we both know they make the best tank out there or at least that's my opinion.
Good to know! I’ll keep an eye on it for sure. And agreed on Custom Aquariums 🤙🏼
@CichlidBros Worth noting that I had 2 48” hugger lights, same exacts one as you and they both did not work properly on the auto mode, would never turn to the night light and then off without a manual cycle, frustrating, though they gave me a free replacement and then also gave me a full refund without requesting the 2 units back. So, excellent customer service, but ended up just spending the money on a Fluval Aquasky and really love it!
Enjoyed the unboxing, and, I really liked seeing your 😸ies:)
Haha thanks! They love to make cameos
Troy is my spirit animal 💙
I've got a line of Apache peacock / sulfer head that bleeds the yellow down the back like a Iceberg fryeri
Looks like you have a few males In there very likely I have 25+ tanks and totes all Peas n Haps
Sweet !!
You guys need to get into Tanganyikans more! Enough Malawi lol, tanganyika is where all the variety is at.
Best way to introduce fish is when you put the light off man. Just a tip.
Greetings from the Netherlands.
If you look close, I did turn the lights off. Only had them on to film it and then kept them off for more than a full day
@@CichlidBros oooh sorry man! Didn’t see that! Haha. What a beautiful cichlids you have.
👊🏻👊🏻
Hey guys, hope you had happy holidays! I was just curious on how I would set up my 90 gallon with no air stones. I think that would look more natural, and the trouble with my air stones now is they kick up alot of sand and it gets sucked into my filter. I have one powerhead, how many will I need to break the water surface to make up for no airstones? I also have to Marineland HOB filters running right now
What were those bottom dweller fish swimming around in the 75 gal tank. Those looked really cool to. I don't quarantine my fish either but i do look them over to make sure they are ok. I have never ordered online before. I can't wait for the new tank and build out. My 90 gal Africans cichlid tank is coming along nicely also. I have all juveniles mostly but i love watching fish grow up lol.
Those are Synodontis petricola. I normally do quarantine my fish but didn’t with this one fish. Would typically recommend it in most case 👍🏻
Even I brought home a pair of blue dolphins, they were looking plain blue in color at the store but once reached home developed some circular spots on them, which often disappear and then appear just like the ones on yours. What do you think is causing them this?
Only miss I see here is ordering 1 big male you usually wanna do at least 2-3 at a time to not get picked on
Yeah it wasn’t ideal. Kept the lights off for more than a day which I think helped. He’s settled in nicely (luckily)
@@CichlidBros yeah I could tell in the video he did fine or he woulda still been in the corner lol 😆
Hey guys, I plan on setting up a 75 gallon mbuna tank and I was wondering what are a couple types of mbuna that won’t be super aggressive and get along pretty well but also will give me a good mix of colour? I know I want yellow labs but what other fish will work with them but be different colours? Love the videos keep it up 👍
Yellow labs would be great. Rusty cichlids, red zebras, yellow tail acei are a few options that usually won’t be too aggressive. Thanks for watching!
This is exactly what I have in my 75 gallon
Please let us know what you think about the hygger heater. Ive had three of them that I used in sumps, and all three died within six months. Which was sad, because I lived in a warm climate, so the heaters didn't have to work too hard.
Will do! Hoping this newer model won't have those issues, but fingers crossed
Hi Troy, how many peacocks/haps do you currently have in your 75? I have a 125gal mix cichlid tank (mbuna/severum/peacock/haps) *it's crazy, I know* but planning to down grade soon.
I think right now there are 13-14 total in the 75
Do you think I could keep a firemouth or electric blue acara with a turtle
Haven’t done it myself, but it should be fine as long as the volume of water is sufficient, 75g+
Out of curiosity, I've always wondered if you can see through your fishtanks through the 6 feet of water for the 180
Yep, the water is usually pretty clear. Might try to show that in a video soon
@@CichlidBros awesome. I just added an fx6 to my aquarium in hopes that will help it clear up more. I have filtration for a 750 gallon aquarium on my 210 right now. Chemi pure blue as well. Hoping that once the fx6 has been running for a while it will clear up. Might also change flow to make filter more efficient
Imperial Tropicals is the best online store ever if you can find one that is better tell me.
I've never purchased from Imperial but have got some beautiful fish from Snake River cichlids. They only sell what they breed and have a lot of cool Pure Line and OB species
Why are they unsexed, are they too young to tell or are they cheaper if you roll the dice and buy unsexed?
Too young to tell
where did they come from? i guessing not from sec
Imperial tropicals for this one
@@CichlidBros i got several on their black friday sale
No quarantine, just "plop & drop?" Have you ever had a new fish infect your existing tank population ?
I normally do quarantine as I said in the video. But yes, with all online orders, plop and drop is the safest method for the fish
