Bitwig literally smokes Pro Tools and people that don't know Bitwig are so clueless. we can do entire multiband chains, stereo split chains, we can do different chains for odd and even order harmonics, transient vs resonance chains, hell, we can multiband the loudness and have three separate chains. We can sidechain literally ANYTHING. our audio editing, CPU management, midi functionality, and MPE are unmatched. people laugh cus they don't know any better and it's not their fault, but also like, Bitwig packs everything else
just look into it, because Bitwig has been ahead of the game on a lotta fronts that people just don't know. I've heard Devvon say on so many episodes "such and such blew my mind" and i'm always like that's just a regular Tuesday in Bitwig
P.S. I plan on getting the Rosetta EQ in the near future, cus i think it's a smart concept, however i could easily build something similar inside of Bitwig in like 15-20 minutes.
This is true. However, Melda has been doing this for a lot longer and it’s available everywhere as a 3rd party. 😂
I still use bitwig for some sound design.

@@prod.xx808xx i agree. so is reaper , so is studio one. but at the end of the day when you learn a daw like i've learned ableton there is actually ZERO percent chance i could ever switch. it's so second nature and singular what i do with my daw that the idea of changing just wouldn't work if i wanted to be as fast and as second natured as i am with ableton
@@bigdawgg1994 Honestly, if you're coming from Ableton, Bitwig might be the one DAW that you'd most seamlessly transition into. Many Ableton users, when trying out Bitwig for the first time said it works exactly like Ableton. Some even like it better.
...but Ableton is slept on too. The playlist workflow is dope.

I never liked studios with heavy artwork cause I feel like it will influence the type of music I write. I like rooms that feel somewhat blank wen it comes to a studio

Bitwig can open fl studio and ableton projects (look at the online manual). Bitwig is my main daw, but sometimes I start in FL studio using vsts only or bouncing what I made with patcher or native fl tools so I can finish what I'm working on in Bitwig. I really hope FL gets dawproject next.

Also, what IF they included an OPTION on ALL plugins, like a button to switch sources. Meaning, it could use ONLY the cpu, or ONLY the GPU or both...then too, what about THIS, what IF there was a way to ASSIGN a specific GROUP and or COMPANY to a specific GPU. Like if you have a multiple GPU system and you assign the more power hungry Izotope to the 5090 titan and all fabfilter and waves to a regular 5090fe and then all the other plugins either to the CPU or a separate system.

Please find an actual audio software developer to chat with about this at some point. I think getting deeper into this conversation would be really cool and could inspire young people to get into audio software development and innovate.
@cpujazz I come from the software world where there are standard (maybe too many). Seems like for plugins there needs to be a standard for the input and output so all plugins can work anywhere. The implementation on the inside doesn't matter the plugin makers can do anything they want all that they have to do is make the in's and out's meet the standard.
I have a question guys...ABLETON user here...what if ALL the plugin makers, reprogrammed the plugins to use the GPU AND the CPU together simultaneously
That would be a game changer because gaming GPUs are way faster than cpu's. Current VST's overuse the CPU but GUI's alone would be CRAZY operating off of the GPU gpu's
@Official360 exactly my point. If ALL of them like the ENTIRE INDUSTRY of plugin makers, agreed to start programing them to run on the gpu and the cpu, that would make it much easier for US as engineers.

@@truth2life_ not going to happen industry wide anytime soon. Plugin companies have to compete against other plugin companies, competetion leads to innovation. Unless a major regulatory body mandates it (like with the EU mandating USB-C for all mobile devices sold in EU) , these type of changes don't typically happen industry-wide.
@typ0_music while very true, necessity is the mother of invention and innovation is the father of competition, so in saying this, IF WE as the ENTIRE COMMUNITY of ENGINEERS, MIXERS and producers were to begin to use EVERY RESOURCE we have, (meaning people we know higher up who can talk to these plugin companies) THAT LEVEL of change would SWEEP the industry, and US as the ones who do the WORK would ALL BENEFIT. THIS, my guy, is my whole point. SOLIDARITY!

Cold temperature for gear. Also, the temperature of a room affects sound. Cold temp sound travels slower.

15:15 that’s not quite how the CPUs work. Yes you have an 8 core CPU but they’re split into 4 Performance and 4 Efficiency core. While P cores are focused on delivering peak performance for intensive workloads, E cores ensure that the system runs efficiently during regular use. The synergy between P and E cores in a single chip allows the CPU to adapt dynamically to varying workloads, balancing power and performance.

AU plugins run slightly better on Mac. If I’m using a plugin that’s likely to crash the AU version will be more reliable. Besides that ion really see a difference between vst3

@@zdot-mr3jp On my Mac from my own experience, AU is slightly more reliable on plugins that are likely to crash. If I was on windows I’d just use Vst3 and call it a day.

In Bitwig Studio, the plugin can only crash, NOT Bitwig.

bro i been using pro tools for a decade, i just switched to studio one and its shitting on em for wayyyy lesss, and auto switched my plug ins for me , and they had an option for hotkeys with pro tools keys pre loaded... its worth the change bruh, save some CHANGE bruh. its bout money its ridiculous
Great episode.
Clap is going to have a hard time penetrating for some very simple reasons:
1. All DAWs will have to be re-coded to support a third party format
2. Apple is not going to allow Logic to have anything else than AU
3. Avid is not going to allow anything else than AAX
4. Steinberg is not going to allow anything else than VST3
It’s literally like asking McDonalds to have employees from Burger King come work at the restaurant and deciding how to flip the burgers.
VST3 AU and AAX are proven performing formats and any issues can be fixed when they arise.
If CLAP is to be the standard it has to offer a LOT of things that producers would absolutely want. I don’t think the arguments are compelling enough yet.

Apple has efficiency cores and performance cores. Efficiency cores can only be accessed by what Apple permits. m1 has the most performance cores. Progressively less performance cores as far as M2 and M3. There are even under utilized cores on Logic even though it's native. James Zhan has done unbiased testing strictly for music production. Look him up
Depends on with versions you get, if you compare the max version M1 has the less amount of perf cores
Protools use both perf and efficiency cores in the newer version, logic will probably update it at some point

Reaper has its own JS plug-ins that are completely open source. They don't look pretty but they're as good as anything on the market.
This is my other channel, (Truth 2 Life) Just imagine how much faster we could get our work done fellas IF EVERYONE OF US, banned together and contacted all of the plugin companies and asked them to make these changes. and ask the people that we know, who are in the industry, to also contact the plugin companies and ask them to make these changes. WE ALL would WIN BIG!!! ive aready reached out to ABLETON about some improvements and fabfilter so far, but im going to keep pushin these ideas and improvements so we can ALL benefit!!!

Did you guys try Mixbus 32c Pro 10 for mixing?
Ardour with Harrison saturation? Mixbus is best for final print if you like that sound not actual mix work, I just use their plugins and their new strip for the same sound… Ardour is atrocious same with Luna, just get the plugin bundles and use a different editor.
In all the years I got Studio One, it only crashed like 7 times by my own doing (gaming, mixing, mastering, video editing at the same time while finalising the project on the project page). I lost one song for a scene of a movie and never got close to that original lighting in the bottle moment on that one. But all the rest is always fine. Grateful now that Studio One doesn't crash like that (or maybe it's my system)? I wish they supported older vsts tho, I miss 2 old plugins but will use FL for that
