He and his family lived across the road from us in the mid-80’s! Went to a gig with him on the east coast and he was warming up his voice on the way there…phenomenal!!
I get this song in my head so often. I was just a year old in 1976, but I remember dad putting this on the turntable & my feeling so happy. It still has that power, every time I hear it, I just smile. Thank you so much for posting this, I really appreciate it! One:LOVE ❤
Love to see them again they are so well presented ,the backing band you to come to our local club many time but not as the vagabonds the club was the james maude sports & social club in mansfield
I heard Jimmy James with Clem Curtis blasting out Love Train at the Stables Milton Keynes. They should have done it as an official cover..it was excellect.

Very good singer and great soul song - deserved better than a bunch of bland backers.

Are you one of the band on this footage Arthur?
The band looked OK to me . The suits not so much.
It's a staged band like when BBC made acts use their own orchestra for backing tracks in the past.
I bet you have some great stories to tell. Good job, you're not a sock! :0)
L'ems 🕺❤️💃

Wow, that is SO cool! Did you see him often? I bet he was marvellous to be around.
Composed by Bidu ( who the hell was he?? )
Bit unfair criticism of the band when they cut back on their tea break to back Jimmy.

I prefer this version hands-down, though Tina Charles' voice is magnificent!
