What is so amazing about this stuff is that there are so many different parts to the animation and so many different parts to the music and it is all perfectly timed together. Nice!
I wonder if, when Wayne Lytle wrote this piece, there was a lot of inspiration from Neil Peart from Rush. Considering how very technical these beats are.
The 31 people who disliked this video were so shocked out of their minds with this things epicness. That their trembling hands trembled the mouse over the dislike button. Thus. they were like FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU afterwards. But its ok. We know what you REALLY meant.

According to their website, they use standard 3d software for modelling lighting and rendering but have their own special software that actually animates the figures, syncing with the soundtrack. Still it doesnt say how much was done by hand and yes it probably still takes a long time.
This may sound like a mess to someone with an untrained ear, or someone who has no taste for drums.. but to me, this is as good or maybe better than the other animusics. Drums and bass are the backbone of the band, they deserve respect, without them, the song would be like one or two colors in the rainbow, with bass and drums, you would get all 7 colors.

Saw this on PBS tonight and did a search. It is truely amazing.
