Sigma has created many great and popular lenses, especially their ART series, but have you heard of this Sigma 70mm f/2.8 macro DG ART lens before watching this review? And what is your favourite focal length for macro lens?
Do think this would be good to shoot macro shots of wedding rings/details handheld on a7iii or should I get sony 90mm macro lens? I don't think on wedding I have time to get a Tripod so handheld is very important consideration. I don't have issues with other lenses on my a7iii body but I'm not sure how macro range would be effected handheld
It should not be problem. I shoot weddings too and have been using a old Tamron 90mm macro lens with my full frame Nikon DSLR (no stabilisation at all) for a long long time for those close up ring shots and it's ok. I do need to find a window or bright light source to keep the ISO low. But with A7III's IBIS, it should be easier!
Danny, Do you use tripod? And how bright the shooting environment is usually? I would say usually you don't need image stabilization unless you shooting in pretty dim places
Based on the announced roadmap the 70-200 2.8 is coming out this year so can't be that far away! And that's a random question on a sigma Sony mount lens review haha
Richard Wong hahaha!! I know. Usually If I ask in older videos for some reason messages don’t get through. Anyways I knew about that lens for a while. I have a couple of macro lenses including voightlander, Sony , Tokina Firin and Zeiss. The 70mm focal length never caught my attention. I found it an odd focal length. But anyways great review as always
@@FamilyofTech thank you! Yes I usually try to answer all the questions but RUclips notification is a bit weird so easy to miss a lot of comments. I do check the newer video more frequently so pick up some missed comments
will the sigma 70mm macro art for sony work with 3rd party electronic macro extensions by companies like meike/neewer to gain more magnification? asking coz of the wired by focus thing. if anyone knows or have seen this lens work with extension tube please help me out with this info. TIA
I haven't try it. But I've tried Meike extension tube on Nikon Z6 with various lenses including the new S leneses and seems work fine. So most likely the E mount should work similar

@@TheRealRichardWong thank you so much for your reply. This information is really helpful.
how do you think this lens put together with sony a6000?
This would be great apart from lack of image stabilization
@@TheRealRichardWong thanks a lot
Nice video. I use the Sony a6400. I do food photography for fun. Do I need image stabilization for food photography?

@@TheRealRichardWong Thank you for the info Richard. Your videos help a lot and i really appreciate them :)
Is there any Sony e to Nikon z adapter?
Yes check my techart tze 01 videos on this channel
100mm is my favourite focal length
Why do you like 100mm Ken?
I like shorter wider focal length. I don't shoot insects. 60 is good
Thanks Kenneth!
