You were in my back yard, glad you had a good time. Slick Rock is my favorite trail up there! I LOVE that trail. It has a little of everything, water crossing, water fall, rocks, dirt, a river, camping sites, and amazing views! Funny thing is about 5 years ago, some buddy's and I were on the trail and a JK broke his track bar bracket in exactly the same spot as your guy. Lucky for my buddy he had just installed an on-board welder and was able to weld the bracket back on. It held up for a long time until he finally got a good proper fix for the bracket. Must be something at the top of that climb up the granite that takes out JK track bar brackets! lol
And Deer Valley is my second favorite trail up there!

You are in my old stomping grounds! I love wheeling on the trails around Bear Valley. If you like the Slick Rock Trail there are a network of fire road that started around Camp Connell and end near Silver Lake on HW88. Or you can take them all the way to Stawberry which is off of US50 (just south of Tahoe).

You know what would be awesome, is if you could show a pic of the clinometer indicating the angle of those steep climbs the jeeps are making. So hard to get a real perspective of just how steep they are.
