Ghost is probably my current favorite band I've been listening to them for quite a LONG time and im glad people are learning more and more of them. You should listen to the lyrics of this song and understand what it actually means. Brace yourself hahahaha
I'm 63 and obsessed by this band, only recently though, since the end of 2022. They defy putting in a genre. Mary On A Cross is set in 1969 or some era like that, hence the poppy vibe. Other ear-worms are Square Hammer, Griftwood, Spillways, Danse Macabre, all with choruses that grab you and stay with you. For heavier stuff, try Rats, the brilliant Mummy Dust, and the quite brilliant Call Me Little Sunshine off the latest fabulous album, Impera. Impera, Prequelle and Meliora all great albums. For an ironic anti-worship vibe, listen to He Is. For a beautiful ballad, go to Life Eternal, worthy of any funeral.
It's nice to see you liked this ghost song, but you should see there first music video that is called Secular haze and they were called Ghost BC back then, and you can see how much the band has evolved Also check another good song Kiss the go - goat
They have been quoted as saying that they are a horror themed band that wants to bring joy through their music, and for me they do. The first two albums cover Satanism, and they continue that theme, but they also cover mummies, werewolves, vampires, serial killers and many other horror based songs. Many tracks just look at humanity itself. The one common thread through all their various music styles, is Tobias Forge's song writing skills (especially his impressive talent for catchy melodies), in vocals or any other instrument. Ghost's music bring joy to my life.
I forget where I heard this but I agree: Ghost is 80s metal themes presented in the style and sound of Abba. These guys are DL pop music. Just with metal themes.
Wait, how did Ghost ended up as a TikTok trend? 🤨 Either way I'm happy they are getting more and more recognition, I love their music and how they created characters. Forge (the lead singer) is the person who created this project and he's just SO good at writing songs that fits his voice and the characters he brings on stage. They are also one of the few bands I recall can play better live than in studio.

Ghost is different, they are very simple and basic, but it's meant to be. So they dont seem very impressive at first. The composition, delivery and dynamics of their style is top notch. Like some of their more repetitive songs, they repeat but with dynamics and changes in delivery, stays building up. So it stays catchy, simple, but doesn't get old. Now that's brilliant! From the dark 70's metal to the 80's hair bands that you hear i Impera. My favorite is Infestissumam. It really is a dark Beauty. The title track punches you right in the face.
As far as the female fans that are dressed as Nuns, they're basically a representation of "The Sisters of Sin" Other Ghost songs you should definitely check out are: Year Zero Spillways Rats Call Me Little Sunshine They even did a cover of Tina Turner's song "We Don't Need Another Hero" from the soundtrack of "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome"
You REALLY should do more Ghost. Seems like their most recent stuff will suit your taste better. It's really hard to think of a single one Ghost song that's not a damn earworm, but I'd suggest those below because of... being easily available with good quality of video and sound: • Spillways ( ruclips.net/video/u9DV1eHQpcA/видео.html ) • Dance Macabre ( ruclips.net/video/7Gr63DiEUxw/видео.html ) • Rats ( ruclips.net/video/C_ijc7A5oAc/видео.html ) • Square Hammer ( ruclips.net/video/VqoyKzgkqR4/видео.html ) • Hunter's Moon ( ruclips.net/video/rtkaUZvMaG8/видео.html ) • Call Me Little Sunshine ( ruclips.net/video/DD2m_iqD7dI/видео.html ) • Cirice ( ruclips.net/video/-0Ao4t_fe0I/видео.html )
If you ever review the song Ritual, there's a video where it's Papa Emeritus II without makeup, except he's wearing sunglasses & you can see where the eyeholes are in the mask. 🙂
Ghost is a band that changes their sound with every album, for thematic reasons, it all relates to their gimmick and the lore of said gimmick, so what you heard in HS was very much corny Doom Metal, while the following album had more of an 80s vibe that you implied. so whoever the next Papa is, they will bring a whole nother sound with them, as the trend continues.
All new Ghosts songs takes me 2-3 listens before I got hooked on them. Then they go on repeat for a month though. Mary on a cross is a great song, but they have much better. I am disepointed though. Not one reaction to the lyrics 😂 I meen... "we were riding high" along with the song name, and also the lines "Go down just like holy Mary" and "Tickle you internelly". This song makes me giggle
You should do one of the two most recent singles from the band "Gunship". Either, Monster in Paradise or Tastes like Venom. The full album doesn't get release until Sept. 29th, so If you want to get in early on it, before everyone else and show just how down with the streets you are, go for it! I have a feeling, based on your reaction to the Ghost songs you did so far that you will love these. Probably Tastes Like Venom more. And the music videos are really cool!
I usually think their new albums are mid, but then time passes by and I really like them. Occasionally there are songs I like straight away because they are so different in some way. My favorite songs change, but right now it is probably Cirice, He is, Faith, Spillways, Little Sunshine, and Year Zero. But it is all good.
Luckily the lead singer Tobias wears a mask, not makeup. The ghouls have steampunk helmets. And this song is five years old but Tik tok made it super popular.
Hey Great reaction from you 😃 Wanna get another Ghost tune in your head?? Try ” Spillways” with them.. youll be hooked forever.. trust me.. ohh.. and thanks for promoting our Swedish band GHOST 🇸🇪🤘🇸🇪🤘🇸🇪🤘🇸🇪
I’ve been hooked to this guys for years. For me the best album is Prequelle, but in their discography they have great songs overall. Cirice, Square Hammer, Dance Macabre, Kiss the GoGoat, Faith and so on… it’s true that live videos are the core of this group. But the videos are awesome and they have a lot of shorts/mini stories in their channel that are hilarious.
FYI, add #GhostBC to your tags to make it easier to find. "Ghost reaction" returns so many thingsthat have nothing to do with this band you get lost in the shuffle.
I gotta admit the exaggerated movements, dress and gestures from the audience had me thinking this might be some kind of Christian rock concert for a minute. Then, thankfully, I learned it’s not. The people in the audience were high on drugs not Christ and that’s easier to accept!
I found them trough mary on a cross and i started like square hammer and cirice then more and more and i didn't like some of their songs but when i listened to them more i then started to like tge songs i didn't like so i think you can't like their songs After the first listen

I was at this show . It was so fun and GHOSt is a great band. TF is a genius!
Oh that’s so dope!
@@SlayWithBrandy If you listen to the albums in order not only can you hear how much the band has grown musically. You can also hear the progression of decades. From the dark 70's metal to the 80's hair bands that you hear i Impera. My favorite is Infestissumam. It really is a dark Beauty. The title track punches you right in the face.
Me too!! The crowd was so friendly and nicee right
As far as the female fans that are dressed as Nuns, they're basically a representation of "The Sisters of Sin"
Other Ghost songs you should definitely check out are:
Year Zero
Spillways
Rats
Call Me Little Sunshine
They even did a cover of Tina Turner's song "We Don't Need Another Hero" from the soundtrack of "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome"
Great review, check out the song "He is" to showcase even more diversity from this band.
Ghost is the best..
You REALLY should do more Ghost. Seems like their most recent stuff will suit your taste better. It's really hard to think of a single one Ghost song that's not a damn earworm, but I'd suggest those below because of... being easily available with good quality of video and sound:
• Spillways ( ruclips.net/video/u9DV1eHQpcA/видео.html )
• Dance Macabre ( ruclips.net/video/7Gr63DiEUxw/видео.html )
• Rats ( ruclips.net/video/C_ijc7A5oAc/видео.html )
• Square Hammer ( ruclips.net/video/VqoyKzgkqR4/видео.html )
• Hunter's Moon ( ruclips.net/video/rtkaUZvMaG8/видео.html )
• Call Me Little Sunshine ( ruclips.net/video/DD2m_iqD7dI/видео.html )
• Cirice ( ruclips.net/video/-0Ao4t_fe0I/видео.html )
The makeup Papa Emeritus IV ( lead singer Tobias Forge) has actually been a mask that's he's had custom made since Papa Emeritus I.
It’s so good i didn’t even realize!
If you ever review the song Ritual, there's a video where it's Papa Emeritus II without makeup, except he's wearing sunglasses & you can see where the eyeholes are in the mask. 🙂
They are realy Great live ^_^
I’d like to see them at some point!
_❤_
Ghost is a band that changes their sound with every album, for thematic reasons, it all relates to their gimmick and the lore of said gimmick, so what you heard in HS was very much corny Doom Metal, while the following album had more of an 80s vibe that you implied. so whoever the next Papa is, they will bring a whole nother sound with them, as the trend continues.
Ghost has evolved alot over the years. Do a review and checkout Respite of the Spitalfields and Spillways
Adding them now!
Definitely check out their newest album, Impera. One of my favorite albums of theirs 🤘
Will do!
Ive added more to my list already!
I Love It. This was my latest Cover Actually. If you listen deeper this song is about Unconditional Love.
Year Zero is fire, IMO! 🔥🤘🏻♥️
Ill have to add all of these to my list!
Man you need to get more into it! Love Tobias!!!
Luckily the lead singer Tobias wears a mask, not makeup. The ghouls have steampunk helmets. And this song is five years old but Tik tok made it super popular.
Ahhh okay never realized! And that would deff make sense!
Also check out Avatar! Another excellent theatrical band with excellent music!!!
Hey
Great reaction from you 😃
Wanna get another Ghost tune in your head?? Try ” Spillways” with them.. youll be hooked forever.. trust me.. ohh.. and thanks for promoting our Swedish band GHOST 🇸🇪🤘🇸🇪🤘🇸🇪🤘🇸🇪
I will check it out
Love your reaction. Ghost is amazing. If you dig this song check out. Dance Macabre, square hammer, witch image, kaisarion. All so good!
Check out square hammer or darkness at the heart of my love or Griftwood or spillways prob more down your avenue
I love Ghost, but if you don't know they are pop disco... You don't know Ghost
There is a whole story that bounds all the history of the group. It’s amazing to check the timeline of the events, the “replacement” of Papa’s, etc
Great reaction! 😈🕺🤘
You should try the Dance Macabre video
Such a good adventure
Ghost “Faith”! Check it out!
Mary On A Cross = Marijuana Cross
why did i not make this connection lol
FYI, add #GhostBC to your tags to make it easier to find. "Ghost reaction" returns so many thingsthat have nothing to do with this band you get lost in the shuffle.
Can do! Thank you for the suggestion that helps a lot!
Chorus is so dope
Agreed
Man if you thought that was hard, you should have seen what I had to do to get stuff on CDs in highschool. My god it was rough.
Do Square Hammer! Literally my favorite Ghost song!😭
I’ll check it out!
Papa❤
Iron Maiden Dance Of Death Live Chile ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@Brandy you need to listen to Spillways from Ghost. A great song. Only wish i liked the video more.
added to my list!
4:06 Psychedelic rock
I love youre vidioes Can you make react to more ghost some the song year zero My fav (1) it’s not make up its a mask i know it bc it’s My fav band😊
Always have time Coll to complement someone’s eyeliner and makeup😂
"Finally, I'm not listening to something that's 5 years old!" You're right! It's only 4 years old 😂 Came out in 2019 LOL!
I gotta admit the exaggerated movements, dress and gestures from the audience had me thinking this might be some kind of Christian rock concert for a minute. Then, thankfully, I learned it’s not. The people in the audience were high on drugs not Christ and that’s easier to accept!
🤣🤣
🎉
Its metal like much more indie
its great tho
I found them trough mary on a cross and i started like square hammer and cirice then more and more and i didn't like some of their songs but when i listened to them more i then started to like tge songs i didn't like so i think you can't like their songs After the first listen
