Hi there! No it was the Limited version 140 HP automatic gearbox. I miss it a lot!!!
I just removed the traction control and locked 4x4 in snow mode.
Unfortunately with the electronic is tough to do tricks on snow.
      Also the electronic handbrake sucks.
Now I have a Compass 4xe and it is even worse! I remember when the handbrake was mechanical, it was much easier!!!

Thanks for your response. I think the 'electronic' 4WD systems (Auto,Snow,Ice,Mud) has ruined the mechanical version of 4WD. I had a 2006 Jeep Liberty that was (I believe) Trail or Wilderness) that had the mechanical 4hi & 4Lo manual lever. With 17 inch tires and I never had any issues. A couple months ago I got a used 2021 Renegade (27K miles) that has the regular 4 cyl engine in it and the automatic transmission if I move the stick shift lever to the left I had 1 & 2. The so called 'elecctronic' 4WD (Auto, Snow, Ice,Mud) IMO has ruined 4 WD. This past week Iowa got hammered with three snow storms. One morning parked in my drive to leave, I put it in 'snow mode' and the front tires started spinning with the rear tires. I basically had to rock it back and forth to get traction and finally got it moving. I realize some of it could be the type of tires on it. I don't know if it would have helped to have shifted the transmission into 1 or 2. I believe the traction control was on and I'd be interested in hearing what your strategy was in turning off your traction control off? It's interesting that you say you regret buying your Compass because it's ironic Jeep has announced they are discontinuing the Renegade and going with the Compass because the compass is close price point to the Renegade.
      Best,
      Duane

@@duanemcclun9924 why really I cannot understand is why they don’t allow us to deactivate all the electronic… should be on by default, but if you set it off, you should be able to keep it off!!!
The Compass has the electric traction on rear axle, while the thermic engine moves the front wheels. On ice the rear push more than the front. The result, when you are not doing it to have fun, is really dangerous!
As far as I know in China they have some hw able to modify the ECU parameters, disabiling or enabling features. Could be an idea…
