    My first car was a 1976 Buick century that I paid $500. For and I absolutely loved it. Rivieras are so beautiful to look at because to me they are a work of art.

    My dad has the '73 G.S Stage 1. Big bumpers spoiled the boat tail. 74, was all gone. My dad's was dark blue with a short white vinyl top & interior.
    The sunroof was unique, but, after carwash (winter)if U applied the brakes leading to a nose dive, water would wet both outboard passenger. Rivieras were pretty fast too. Gr8 long distance traveler, Njoy.

    What a beautiful car , I love the color , nothing ever looked like a boat tail Riviera , the car reeks with class , A bankers Hot Rod . I had a 1966 Riviera , in Burgundy , I believe it's here on RUclips it had a matching burgundy interior . Riviera's were always A special car , A few notches above the best of the best , you didn't just pull up in a Riviera , you made an entrance in a Riviera . About 35 years ago I did A cosmetic restoration on one that same color combination , sans the vinyl top . The owner of this car is right , the 71-72's were the best of this generation Riviera , no big bulky ugly safety bumpers , seems like every generation Riviera has its best year , the 63-65's the 65 was the best , with the GS option and clamshell headlamps., the 66-69's had the 66 with the last year for the nail head 425 and dual quad car burst ion , these were torque monsters with 456 ft.pounds of torque , very fast and very well handling , for a large car (although it was 3 inches shorter than a same year Pontiac GTO) and the lowest hood line.in GM history , even lower than a Corvette of the era . The 1963 Riviera was supposed to be a Cadillac , but at the last minute GM Brass decided to badge the car as a Buick to help Bucks ailing sales , it worked . I heard a rumor that Buick was possibly going to re introduce the Riviera again , who knows if it will ever happen.

      Central Europe - Slovakia - a place of many collectors and US cars clubs. Even environmental taxes do not apply to the vintage cars yet (unlike some other European countries)

    Mark, love the "Green Shark". The only thing you need to do is add the shoulder belts up on the headliner that the car originally came with- and wear them.

    • @kevinfry8919

    • @bradparris99
      @bradparris99 7 лет назад +3

      Kevin, hope that you have installed them and are wearing them, especially the shoulder belts. In a crash they are lifesavers- I am proof of that.

    • @thomasscott9359
      @thomasscott9359 6 лет назад +1

      To hell with someone telling me to wear my seatbelts. I wouldn't want to die in any other car. Now go crash your Prius into a tree, to enhance its appearance, and walk away, unscathed. You crash an ugly car that should be crashed, and I crash a beautiful car that I shouldn't have and die. Its my choice for gory glory.

      Good taste, Mark loves Frank Stalone - Far from Over song in the video, but I (Rob) would chose Neon Knights or Led Zeppelin - I like to play that kind of music on my Harley Davidson! Otherwise I had to use a bunch of copyright free music at the time of making the video, but all monetization comes to the owner of the "Far from over" clip anyway. But this is non-commercial channel, so I do not care - and chose Neon Knights next! :-))

      Yes it is - but if you come to European US cars meetings - many have it - proud of their big V8 American engines.. (those are getting increasingly rare when Europe is trending into 3 cylinders or electric).

    Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
    from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
    Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
    on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas
    station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel
    pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in
    the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems,
    turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and
    New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be
    done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of
    crime here, called emissions and smoke crime :-(/

    • @motorheadslifestyle3263
      @motorheadslifestyle3263  3 года назад +1

      Only new combustion engine cars will be banned from sales since 2030, while old cars and even new hybrids can stay on the road, even after this year. Cars homologated before, always apply the rule valid at their homologation, vintage cars have special rules too. However it is likely they will not be allowed to the big cities and they will pay high taxes for car and fuel. But there will be places to drive them. At the side roads, events, circuits.. And these cars are historical heritage - museums and collectors will keep them.

      @@motorheadslifestyle3263 Problem is China, China told our EU politicians that they wont do any business with underdeveloped countries that still allow CO2 emitting traffic after 2030...I am sure the UK and USA also will be forced by China to 120% electric traffic because today no industrialized country can afford sanctions by China....:-(
