Geez, even the Halford of the 80's, 90's and onward couldn't touch the Halford of the 70's, so wild, so free, so adventurous, which is why I much prefer Robbo durin' this period.
I think he did develop a darker more dramatic timbre though, although that seemed to begin with Stained Class/Killing Machine onwards I think@@dinorocker8647
He absolutely melts my mind with every live video. Nowadays Rob is so underrated, and still sounds the same at 71!!!!! Rob looking his best here though😍😍 Halford forever!!!!
@@Matt-fl1vd Simon Phillips was superb on Sinner and other JP numbers and I'm not limiting best best rock years to JP. As an example, Sabotage by Sabbath in '75 was incredible MHO.
Greatest voice in Hard rock/Metal history. Judas Priest never disappoints in concert with Rob’s vocals are always killer. Even now in his 70’s he entertains and shows how it’s done. Halford is legend.
Everyone always comments about what a great metal singer Rob is; and rightly so. But most fail to mention what a brilliant lyricist and songwriter Rob achually truly is. If you observe carefully you will notice that most Judas Priest songs are poems put to music.
It's that clearer, more operatic tenorish part* of his voice sustained around the high 4th octave to lower 5th with that STRONG vibrato that is my fave part of his range, incredible singer. No va a ver dos guitarristas en la historia del metal como downing y tipton ,ni Murray Smith ni ninguna pareja de guitarristas tienen ese carisma grandes entre los grandes !
K.K rockin the mustache. It sounds like Rob is the only one actually performing. I think the bass, guitars, and drums are just being played from a stereo system haha.
Again, I am a bit of a at a loss ever seen this video before and no I am kind of tongue twisted but again why is baseball and never seen Rob be this so overly charismatic and if you guys know Robert, I’m sure you do that is a whole bunch of words coming out of my mouth holy smokes man what a treat
So fuckn awesome I love this song always have always will . Never ever seen this video before what a masterpiece and great visuals I love priest forever..
It's actually UFO's Only You Can Rock Me that you hear for a second at the end. Night Comes Down would not come out for many years after this performance.
I like the sound of this album and stained class, they both have a similar style, the earlier albums are a bit too boring for me, and I am not so fond of British Steel
Yeah I think Sin After Sin was the best soundin' of the real early albums, it wasn't great compared to the last two albums of the 70's, but it sounded WAY BETTER than the slaggy, Sabbath inspired psychedelia of the Roger Bain produced albums, and even K.K. says he hates how those two albums sounded.
I think this is a TV Show from Germany. The same Iron Maiden played RUNNING FREE, available in the DVD "The History Of Iron Maiden Part 1 The Early Days" I Think the show was called "POP ROCK"
Rock/Pop yes, it was always my favorite German music show on TV the live version of the series was the Rock/Pop in Concert series where Priest appeared in '84 (recorded around Christmas '83).
That IS a rare video. I've never seen Rob Halford with so much hair. KK Downing with a moustache? It's also quite something to hear them play with such a simple sound system. Now they are arguably the best heavy metal band of them all? Can anyone tell me the name of this Drummer?
Just the coolest fucking voice I've ever heard in my life, and shit, what technique, vibrato, and control. NO ONE could touch Rob back then.
Absolutely no one! Not even today. Their will never be another Rob Halford...everrrrr !!
Geez, even the Halford of the 80's, 90's and onward couldn't touch the Halford of the 70's, so wild, so free, so adventurous, which is why I much prefer Robbo durin' this period.
The fuckin best 🔥
Rob's not called the Metal God for nothing, obviously ❤

Halford is really on Fire.....his voice is totally insane 🤘🤘🤘🤘
His voice is absolutely mint
I don’t care what anyone says late 70’s Judas Priest was them at there absolute prime🔥Stained Class was there best album in my opinion.
I agree 💯
He absolutely melts my mind with every live video. Nowadays Rob is so underrated, and still sounds the same at 71!!!!! Rob looking his best here though😍😍 Halford forever!!!!
Haha! Oh man, Hills Facial expressions are killing me! Binks in a video is so rare, 70's Priest was the best.
Absolutely, I love Stained Class, but the album this song's off of IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PRIEST ALBUM.
Unleashed In The East was the first Priest album I bought and still my favorite.
That ring when he sustains a note is just addictive...
What an incredible voice!
The Priest's finest at their ultimate peak, IMO.

The guitars are on point! Sound just like the album. Rob is amazing live
This isn't live - it's a promo video.
@@hinjurock70 i think that Halford's vocals are not on playback, but it's only an idea
@@teomondoscrofalo6052 I believe that as well. His vocal at times overpowered the mix. And that wasn’t true on the record

one of the greatest bands ever 'Rock On'

Hey, shut up
nice. my favorite line-up. Interesting to see how laid back Les was...awesome
As far as I know he always was, that's why he's the greatest Priest drummer, such a heavy, but laid back swing and groove.
Judas Priest en los 70...eran los de verdad, con Les Binks a las baquetas mi banda favorita, irrepetibles...
simply perfection!
Les Binks was always my favorite Priest drummer. Way better than Dave Holland.
That is a FRIGGIN' FACT, screw Holland and Travis, those turkeys ain't got shit on Binks.
Different styles of music, Holland played what asked to play in JP but in previous bands a very different drummer.
@@LarryFleetwood8675 Yes.
Holland was so mediocre. As a drummer myself, there’s so much he could have done with that material. Binks and Travis elevated Priests music.

To clarify for people, it's a backing track minus the vocal and whatever else. A lot of shows did this back in the day.
Love Rob caressing that girl and everyone in the band laughing lol
Amazing song indeed.
Amazing track. Amazing band. Just simply amazing.
if you realize, there are some times when he have to breathe so is not playback :D he's just a perfect voice...
Holy shit, I've never seen this & I have A LOT of rare vintage Priest. THANK YOU!!!!
PRIEST... PRIEST... PRIEST... THE BEST
Yeah, yeah yeah yeah old man old man never seen this video before in my life again I’m old
One thing you can say about priest this band never ever ever doubted itself they knew it was just a matter of time until they became metal. Gods
Wow!!! I didn’t know they had a video for this!!! Les Binks kicks ass!!
No va a ver dos guitarristas en la historia del metal como downing y tipton ,ni Murray Smith ni ninguna pareja de guitarristas tienen ese carisma grandes entre los grandes !
If Haldford's voice is not playback, he is performing almost as perfect as in the studio album
The music is playbac, I think, but the voice is live
Edward Norton is one hell of a singer!
Rob’s vocals were live but the rest were mimed. Still great to see though. Especially Les, what a great drummer he is.

Probably cause the music industry didn't wanna touch these guys then before they broke big.

Rare video. I've seen them all, but have never seen this.
What a gem. Dodgy outfits just before the leather period.
Well I can't say the leather period didn't have some dodgy outfit's as well, take a look at the Turbo era, WHAT THE F--- WAS THAT.

that's because since it's a tv show thingy everything but the vocals are backing tracked :P

Fuck can that dude sing!
shame that the instruments are playback. JP dont need fucking play back

Les Binks wasn't working the bass drums either. That was the studio music.

He wasn't their original drummer though.
