      Geez, even the Halford of the 80's, 90's and onward couldn't touch the Halford of the 70's, so wild, so free, so adventurous, which is why I much prefer Robbo durin' this period.

      I think he did develop a darker more dramatic timbre though, although that seemed to begin with Stained Class/Killing Machine onwards I think​@@dinorocker8647

      @@Matt-fl1vd Simon Phillips was superb on Sinner and other JP numbers and I'm not limiting best best rock years to JP. As an example, Sabotage by Sabbath in '75 was incredible MHO.

    Greatest voice in Hard rock/Metal history. Judas Priest never disappoints in concert with Rob’s vocals are always killer. Even now in his 70’s he entertains and shows how it’s done. Halford is legend.

    Everyone always comments about what a great metal singer Rob is; and rightly so. But most fail to mention what a brilliant lyricist and songwriter Rob achually truly is. If you observe carefully you will notice that most Judas Priest songs are poems put to music.

    It's that clearer, more operatic tenorish part* of his voice sustained around the high 4th octave to lower 5th with that STRONG vibrato that is my fave part of his range, incredible singer.

      As far as I know he always was, that's why he's the greatest Priest drummer, such a heavy, but laid back swing and groove.

    Les Binks was always my favorite Priest drummer. Way better than Dave Holland.

      Different styles of music, Holland played what asked to play in JP but in previous bands a very different drummer.

      Holland was so mediocre. As a drummer myself, there’s so much he could have done with that material. Binks and Travis elevated Priests music.

      @@michaelglindmyer3336 Priest even had to cut certain songs from their live setlists like _Exciter_ and _Dissident Aggressor_ because Holland simply couldn't play them. It wasn't until they got Travis on skins that they could play them live again. Why would they hire someone that couldn't play every song from all their albums? After all these years, it still boggles my mind...

    K.K rockin the mustache. It sounds like Rob is the only one actually performing. I think the bass, guitars, and drums are just being played from a stereo system haha.

    I like the sound of this album and stained class, they both have a similar style, the earlier albums are a bit too boring for me, and I am not so fond of British Steel

      Yeah I think Sin After Sin was the best soundin' of the real early albums, it wasn't great compared to the last two albums of the 70's, but it sounded WAY BETTER than the slaggy, Sabbath inspired psychedelia of the Roger Bain produced albums, and even K.K. says he hates how those two albums sounded.

    I think this is a TV Show from Germany. The same Iron Maiden played RUNNING FREE, available in the DVD "The History Of Iron Maiden Part 1 The Early Days" I Think the show was called "POP ROCK"

      Rock/Pop yes, it was always my favorite German music show on TV the live version of the series was the Rock/Pop in Concert series where Priest appeared in '84 (recorded around Christmas '83).
