Nasri was a beast. I enjoyed watching him play as a kid. So graceful and mercurial. If only his injuries and attitude were better, he'd have been so much more. Nevertheless, a treat to watch and a gem of a footballer.

Don't know why Nasri got all the hate. In the same summer, he still played the Liverpool game a few day before his move to City at risk of injury. Meanwhile 'loyal captain' Fabregas abandoned Arsenal, refused to train and play to force a move then use his own pocket money to break his contract for Barcelona move. And Arsenal fan went attacking Nasri.

    • @arsenal_84
      @arsenal_84 3 месяца назад +44

Was more disgusted with Fabregas behavior to force the move to Barca. For Nasir, he is more of looking for a better contract while arsenal was debt ridden with the new stadium.

Have to agree with what is a minority view. I certainly had little affection for Nasri but do recognise he was more honest about his leaving Arsenal than Fabregas, who shamelessly engineered a move away to boyhood club Barcelona.

They were BOTH SNAKES! Even more so because nasri left for the money and SLATED us saying he left to win titles. With Fabregas we all had a feeling he was gonna leave especially when Pepe Reina put the Barcelona shirt on him at World Cup 2010

That 07/08 team was so much fun to watch, yet so fragile. Possibly the highest level of technical quality of all the late-era Wenger teams. That Eduardo injury at Birmingham still bothers me whenever I see a clip or watch the season review, until then they played with such flair together; just a shame it didn’t end in a title. I don’t blame him as much as some did and still do, he wanted to win, he had a huge contract waved in his face, and he left. We screwed up a lot back then, it is what it is, the fact he might have been a bit aloof has been used after the fact to paint him in a worse light. Still blessed to have seen him perform at that level for those seasons. 🤷🏼‍♂️

"his own team" seems to imply some deep connection, he signed in his 20s and was there 3 years. If you look at it from the outside a young player moving to a new country, then a few years later earning a move to a team he felt more likely to earn him trophies, or more money is something that happens multiple times every year. I think because he has such a puncheable face its easy to blame him for the overall stagnation of Arsenal at that(brief) time but he just jumped ship as the tides where changing. His comments to force a move where lacking class, but he's not really worthy of the the hate he got but the timing meant he got deflected anger that arsenal fans felt as the team was slipping.

Tbh Arsenal never gave them a contract renewal and was focused on generating revenues selling off their star players, cant hate the players alone cuz Arsenal was only vying for top four finish and selling of their star players in the next transfer window, buy no name players make them a star and sell them off, Arsenal under wenger was all business only with Arteta they have started investing I hope Arsenal don’t start selling off their star players now

2008 arsenal was destroyed by wenger and the board , offering city titles 🤷🏿‍♂️😵‍💫
I liked wenger but from adebayor to toure wtf was he thinking 🤔

I dont think players like nasri or fabregas got more hate than RVP. The old fashioned players just dont join the decades rival club like man utd. I could understd players were sold to man city or barcelona, but to man utd? Hell no man.
RVP doesnt even have the guts to go back to Emirates since then.

Bet they're all devastated, seriously though none of them are even English+went on to bigger clubs+success, like when Ronaldo went to Madrid, surprised Ashley Cole didn't make your list

Nasri was a fantastic player, but he was also a selfish prick. But by God, he was able to fill the mantle left by injuries to Rosicky and the transfer of Hleb.

I'll never that first game against City, the whole stadium was ringing with the song, "Nana nana nananana nanana naa naa Samir you're a cunt, you're a cunt, Samir you're a cunt". He then gave us the finger has he got subbed off and we cheered like we'd scored. .😂😂

What team did he abandon? He got paid more to go to better teams each time. Tons and tons of players do that every single season.

Doping is just weird. Natural doping is ok like DNA traits to give you better everything to play soccer but not artificial ones. It is really weird to me. Genetically engineering will step up soon

If they could have kept all their players maybe things would have been different. We will never know. He would have been an Arsenal Legend. You are a forgotten figure at City. Never loved and then hated a player like Samir. You broke my heart.

Arsene Wenger allowed Cole, RVP, Fabregas and Nasri to leave depending on his own competence to find and nurture new talent. And bought his much needed defence poorly because of financial commitments to the stadium.
