    okay...so just one more comment then I promise to be quiet! You are becoming so delightful and so eclectically beautiful. I've been watching your changes over the previous videos and I see you are coming out of your mental 'Hidey hole' and becoming someone very interesting. You go girl!!

    I just told my now partner right off the bat. He didn't know much about psychosis, so I down played it a little bit and slowly released more info as we got more serious. Now he is well prepped for an event. I'm really lucky but my ex did everything wrong and we are both traumatized.

      That’s so awesome that you handled it well & he was so receptive with this relationship, although I’m sorry to hear it didn’t go well in your other one. My experience has been kinda similar. In my last serious relationship it was incredibly traumatizing, which had more to do with being with someone untrustworthy. He knew about the psychosis before we dated. I had the same approach as you with my current partner, where I let him know upfront and he eased into understanding it. Man, what a difference it makes! I’m so glad you have a supportive partner.

    Awesome video thank you for addressing this topic, I have enough problems making friends live alone any romantic interests.

    I honestly had more luck dating in psychosis than out of psychosis surprisingly...the only problem was that I ran into a lot of overly controlling and harmful people during it. A few toxic caregiver partners who would even supervise my bathing a few times (among other things I won't go into)

    hmmm....my previous post went away some how but another question I have (along with what to do about SZ and aging) is what do we want other people to call us? schizophrenic, a person with schizophrenia? and what about all to derogatory words like crazy, a little off, disabled, mentally disabled. I think I am comfortable with schizophrenic but maybe not...I'm wandering how others prefer to be addressed.

      I don't personally consider disabled or disability as bad words. I am on disability. That is a fact. I am disabled. My disabilities are Bipolar 1, PTSD, autism, ADHD and a physical illness called POTS.

    Relationships can be tough especially with mental illness....They are trying to say the least for myself. I've found casual dating far easier and more fun and finding people who understand mental illness makes it easier to have a relationship. My last relationship I really wanted it to work out but it didn't because of the trauma they had put me through the previous time we dated. But now I just don't really date at all or date casually few and far between as much as I would like to but it is what it is. I have Othello disorder as well which makes it hard to date because you are constantly worried about people cheating on you. However I've noticed I only feel that way when the person has actually cheated on me in the past. Anyway....great topic and your insight is very helpful. Congrats on the 1000 subscribers!

      Oh wow I’ve never heard of othello disorder but just the name alone says a lot. I’m sorry you were hurt in your relationships. It really is hard putting yourself out there and getting trauma in return.

    How long did your paranoia last for after a psychotic break?

    • @Psychotic.in.Seattle
      @Psychotic.in.Seattle  4 месяца назад

      I’m not sure, it might have been a few months. Not too many though, I think after 2 or 3 months I was becoming clear headed enough that I wasn’t as scared and at around 4 months the symptoms all went away.

    You may have Psychosis but your stunning beauty cancels that out. 😊
