I don’t know if CDPR did this on purpose as this song is as old as the first reveal trailer but the visuals used as background are SPOT ON for the lyrics.
1)the game was based on Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop game with all of its lore known already;
2)it's cyberpunk genre, it works within set stereotypes. You can't make a steampunk song and then somehow miss connecting with any steampunk media:D

THis song was written based on the very first teaser and was more of a table game inspired so it's a song about game classes from the original Cyberpunk 2020, not 2077 for real.
Ghost is more like devil's ending, you are wandering around with 6 months to live, have no big thing to do...

Man, i just can't express how happy listening to this made me.
This was the first song i heard from you, years ago ((and it was my favourite since then)), and after finishing it i listened to everything else you had on the channel and loved everything. Obviously it only got better with each new one.
You improved even more with each new song and i'm so glad i'm able to see this one being remade after the game is finally out!
Man, i'm sorry to say but that song isn't my favourite anymore, because this one just took the first place right away !! ((I will still enjoy that version tho)).

The remake of the song is incredible, especially loved the higher quality (as in, sound quality) vocals, but the main thing running through my mind the whole time was-

This version has more omph than the one released years ago.
The use of a guitar to back up the synth lead. That was done well.

After loving this for about a year, i actually read the description. I originally assumed you had a deal with CD project, since it was better than a lot of actual game content. I was really fucking shocked that this wasn't an official thing. I had grouped it with all the Refused/Samurai songs. Especially impressive considering you beat them by years. I doubt anyone is still monitoring this page, but i wanted to express my admiration anyway. Great fucking song.
When I heard he was gonna be revisiting something from 2013, I knew right away it was gonna be City of Night.
Second choice was either Wigglesticks or Doorfighter, but this is fine too.
I'm building a cyberpunk RPG campaign and am searching for "chromatic rock" examples, and then it hit me:
-electronic sounds
-distorted guitars
-rock/synth arrangements balanced
-big feelings, big message

This is actually a re-release of City of Night from 2013. He made it when the first announced Cyberpunk 2077 I believe.
He'll keep making them until there are as many as there are Skyrim songs...

This game was probably the deepest experience I’ve ever had in a game, and this song really, perfectly encapsulates the feelings of driving through night city and the stories you create with v and his loved ones. Thank you for this masterpiece

I'm amazed at how much this song just utterly fits the game, especially as it was originally written before there was any real information about it. I mean, you must have played the ttrpg at some point to just... get the vibe of Night City so deeply embedded in the words here, right? It's just so right. Every time I listen to it, I love it even more.
Gav, you don't realize how big this is for me, this song is what allowed me to find your music all those years ago and had me go on a journey to listen to everything you have ever put out. Love how the lyrics feel closer to Jonnhy Silverhand than the protagonist. Like it is not sung from the perspective of V but from Silverhand, the ghost of nightcity
Well, Gav was clearly inspired by the original RPG. Johnny's story was written in it's sourcebook.

The 2013 ver is one of my all time favorites of yours, and probably the one that got me into MoS. This is a truly worthy follow up and I'm glad you're still creating your art.

Really fits with the ‘77 scene, too, all synthy and stuff. The first, could see as a 2020 song, this as some choom digging it up and remixing it. Just a thought, that is definitely making it into my tabletop game when I manage to run one. So thanks!

Wow, that intro. It really takes me back to the original. Before like, 2019, I never knew of or heard of Cyberpunk. And honestly, I love that I could enjoy it so much without knowing what it was.
