- For only $30 you can learn to SCUBA at Shades of Green! This was the best deal on property, hands down! Scuba Rob, with Yawmon Scuba Academy visits the Mill Pond Pool at Shades of Green once a week to set up his scuba school for anyone aged 5 and up! You can pay with cash or card and he provides ALL the gear including the goggles, flippers, vest and mini tank. He goes over all the basics to get you comfortable breathing in the water. Story had a blast and Tim got to do it with her too. In my opinion this is one of the best pool activities they have to offer and everyone should take advantage of this deal while they can. Scuba excursions anywhere else are well over $100 or even double that. This is perfect if you want to find out if this is for you for less than the cost of dinner at Disney. I've been loving the activities at the pool at Shades of Green lately. Between the scuba academy, the afternoon pool games with the lifeguards and the movies on the lawn there is something for everyone! Let me know in the comments if you have tried this yet? When we were there last month, there was a box at the main parking gate for your room cards. We scanned the gate open then dropped our cards in it.

Yes, normally if we check out and leave before noon that’s what we would do. However, after noon your room card stops working 🥴 We left later this day so the cards wouldn’t have worked so we asked for the paper pass. I used it again last week and had the same problem so either we are doing it wrong or they’re having issues with that system.
I bet diving in the Epcot tanks was amazingggggg! I’d love to be able to do that one day. We are trying to get Story used to the feeling of breathing through a regulator so that maybe we can at least start to snorkel and work our way towards full on scuba diving. She’s a fish so I’m sure she will catch on the more we do it 😍

Yea you can’t turn your back on the hammerheads! They’re underrated lol People always think the Makos, Whites and Tigers are the scariest but the hammers bite will do some damage 😬 Man I bet that was a cool experience! I’m glad you got to do that!
That’s so cool that they offer that at sog, will they continue that into the winter or is it a summer activity? I’m so proud of story for trying all those rides I know I was scared when I was little lol!❤❤❤
I'm not sure how long it will be offered! I talked to Scuba Rob about that when we were there and he told us that he would come as long as folks were interested and signed up. We loved everything about it so definitely wanted to highlight our experience for yall to see!
Story is a brave girl...like her daddy. I was scared when I was little too! My mom couldn't PAY me to get on roller coasters (she literally tried to offer me money and I turned it down LOL) I hope Story holds on tight to that courage for as long as she can :)
Over the 4th of July week while we were there, a guy in a Tesla had to pay at the exit I would assume and he had the ramps to the exit in the garage super backed up, people were honking like crazy and it was a bit funny but I felt bad for the guy, when we checked out I swiped the card and then dropped it in the box lol. We did the movie event that week but definitely looking out for scuba when we go back in January! Hope to run into you guys sometime, would love to buy Tim a beer! Of topic but based on the new rules for DAS I don’t think I’ll be eligible anymore, have you guys applied since the new changes? Looks like genie plus will be our best option next time.
Oh no, poor Tesla dude! LOL Yea our card wouldn't have worked bc we were exiting the garage long after our check out time, so the card was inactive. There is definitely some room for improvement with that whole process.
I hope you get to try to Scuba! When we talked to him we asked how long he would be offering the program. He said as long as people were interested so thats why we wanted to make sure we mentioned it in the video. Its fairly new this summer so I'm sure there are folks who had no idea. Its such a great deal though.

As for DAS, we have not gone through the new process yet. Its coming though. I think we will call in the next week or two bc we have an August trip. I've heard people get granted and denied so I really couldn't speculate what might happen. I believe it will ultimately depend on the cast member we speak with. Either way, if Tim gets one, great. But if not then we will give the new LL Multi pass a try. That goes into effect on the 24th so we want to figure out that process as well.
