This Was Almost A Panic Attack | Watching This Show From The Rooftop | Disneys Brand NEW Drone Show!

- We went to the opening night of Disney's new drone show at Disney Springs and it almost ended horribly. It started out great with a bus ride from Shades of Green over to the bus stop at Disney Springs. From there we wanted to find something for dinner but when we found out the wait for Splitsville was almost 2 hours we decided to grab a quick dinner at the 4 Rivers Cantina food truck in stead. It was a quick and delicious meal so we jumped over to the M&M store to grab a treat for Story. After that we had to decide where the best place to watch the show might be. We landed on the rooftop of the Orange parking garage on the west side. It was a GREAT location to watch the show. It wasn't crowded at all and we had a fantastic view of the drones in the sky being up so high on the 5th level of the garage. Once the show was over things got a little intense, pretty quickly. As we made our way down to the main level the crowds became overwhelming and we found ourselves stuck in a large mass of people with no way out. We weren't moving or getting anywhere. Tim was having an increasingly hard time staying calm and afterwards he told us he felt the most helpless he has ever felt in his life in those 10 minutes we were navigating our way through the herd of people. It might not feel that bad for the average person but for someone who struggles with traumatic disabilities this was an incredibly frightening and vulnerable situation. Fortunately we made it back to the room and he was able to regulate his stress level. Overall, we LOVED the show and would like to see it again but we will have to come up with a better plan next time before we attempt a busy night at Disney Springs. HUGE thank you to the Shades of Green bus drivers for being extremely punctual getting us there AND picking us up despite the unusually high traffic! It was quite a night!

That bus driver that dropped you guys off is hilarious and a very nice guy, he did us a solid when my wife had forgotten her wallet up in the room, he held the bus until I came back with her ID. It’s also nice to see that he’s still there, one of the other driver told us that their company’s contract was up for renegotiation by end of April so I’m assuming that it was renewed! One of the other drivers has been there for like 15 years, his name is Vince, shorter bald guy with lots of energy.
He is SO nice! There are several that we see now on every trip that we have come to adore. 🥰
Just watching with the crowds was making me freak out. I felt the silent gaze as yall were checking on each other. Good on yall for holding it together.
Yea it was ok until it wasn’t 😬 What we really should have done is just waited up there for a little bit instead of coming straight down to the mad exodus. Now we know for next time!
When you said we're not taking the stroller tonight I thought you said we're not taking story and for whatever reason my heart dropped and I was like wait what what are they doing with story why aren't they taking story?? Lol
LOL if it were up to her she would have opted to stay at the pool all by herself 😂 But she would have been pretty upset to miss out on that M&M store.
Thank you so much for showing this. Until the novelty wears off and the crowds die down, I think this might be a no go for us. There is no way my husband would have been okay after that. His head is constantly on a swivel even in a quiet restaurant. That would have been incredibly difficult. I can only imagine how Tim must have been feeling ❤. The show looked cool though!
Absolutely! I would say IF you consider it then think about going on a week night (not a Friday) and maybe just hang out where you’re at for a while before trying to navigate back to the bus or anywhere really. We are going to test it out again in July with a different approach and see how that fares. It not worth putting anyone through the madness right now 🫶🏼

You’re always welcome ☺️ Yea it was a bittersweet night…it was a great show! We had a nice night out together but those crowded moments can really take the wind out of your sail. All is good but now we know for next time. We would have been better off just waiting up there until the crowds dispersed.
I’m glad Tim explained his PTSD.. I never could understand why my husband hated crowds but that makes sense.. it’s apart of their training. I never knew that.
Yea he doesn’t really divulge too much but THAT night was a rough one for him. There’s more to it but he doesn’t even like talking to me about it 😣
Same.. I was married 7-8 years before he joined and he just started twitching in the bed at night after AIT and all those vaccinations. Never wake them up.. it’s not pretty.

Its new and is said to run every night until September 2. After that we aren't sure if they will continue or introduce new shows but we will watch for any updates :)
Thank you for the honest review and video. I could feel the stress from both of you as you moved through those crowds. My husband has described what it feels like to be always scanning for threats in crowds and in general, so I understand Tim's frustration and feelings of helplessness in that moment.
Of course! We loved the show but now we know for next time to just kind of hang out where we are until the crowds die down. I felt bad for Tim. It was all fun and games until I realized he wasn’t handling it too well 😩
I want to visit Disney world with my wife, but the possibility with crowds like you experienced would freak me out. Im a veteran and deal with panic attacks, ptsd, anxiety, etc. Would there be a time of year crowds would be very low? Oh by the way love your videos and authenticity. Greg
I understand that completely...we typically avoid heightened situations for those reasons as well. Some of the obvious times to avoid would be holidays like Christmas, New Years day, Thanksgiving, Spring break time (usually April). Its usually always busy now at Disney but there have been random days where the crowds are less. I would say your best best would be around late August or September when kids go back to school. This is also the peak of hurricane season so the weather tends to be exceptionally rainy. If you can deal with that then I would plan for this time of year. Aside from times of year I would pay attention to times of day and know the showtimes at each park. If you know there is going to be a parade at a certain time avoid main street. If theres a firework show happening at 8 then try to hit the big rides when most people are congregating around the castle. Basically do the opposite of what the schedule says. Get there first thing in the morning to do a few rides, leave for the afternoon, then return in the evening and stay as late as possible when a lot of people will be heading back to their hotels. If you can budget for the after hours events you may consider getting those tickets when attendance is significantly less.
There are lots of ways to combat the crowds. Sometimes it is unavoidable, admittedly. But, if you familiarize yourself with the park you're going to and have an exit strategy it is definitely manageable. I hope this helps and I hope you find the best time to plan a trip!
Thank you for that insight, makes me feel a bit more comfortable about trying to plan a trip there. My wife is a huge Disney fan, and I know she would be over the moon if I said we were going.

Yea crazy there…I would have been fine but my hubby would have not been good…we were gonna try Monday nite but grandson ended up sick so maybe was a good thing….
Yep if you’re going be back before September I’d just wait a bit until the “newness” wears off. I can’t imagine it will be THAT crazy for too long. We will try again in July and report back ☺️
