I really really want to get a Carinthia Survival One. I absolutely love the idea of arm sleeves in the sleeping bag! Yes it's bulky but warm af and bomb proof. One day I'll have it.! 😄
Howdy, I’ve had the chance to test one of these. Although it’s based off of the German bag with the same design. It’s colder. Firstly, the arms in the sleeves like this are cold. And because these sleeves have holes they allow cold arm to seep in. I even turned the sleeves inside out and it was still cold. Also the lover zippers allow more cold air to enter. Anyway, great idea. But not as practical. But they still sell.
I have the carinthia survival one, i live in Quebec-canada and -29 celsius with only my polartec power grid base layer. I really really like the arm sleeve. It is a great sleeping bag, he do compress well but a little bit heavy.
After -30F it pretty much the same inCelsius . So -40 is the same as -40 Celsius. I think I am going to pickup the 4 in multicam one day. Thank you for making this video. You could sell those and upgrade.
Swiss fellow here, I have a question about down sleeping bags since I'm pretty new to the subject. You mentioned that you don't recommend them in Switzerland due to the high humidity. Does their performance suffer in general or only when used alone? I was thinking of getting a Tropen and a Dutch bivy with either a bag like the defence 4 or a down bag on the inside for colder seasons. Would a down bag like the indian 1A (available on varusteleka) work on the inside or is the issue present regardless? (due to sweat for example) The down 1A packs down so much more than the Defence 4 that I'm tempted, but I don't want to get an unsuitable bag. Thank you for the informative content, it's nice to have someone who discusses gear suited to the local context!
Carinthia developed a duel system for the Indian Army. Down inside and synthetic on the outside. The idea is that the synthetic would transfer the humidity from the down to the outside.

I probably could.have to think about it. I really liked those Black Multicam versions. And the new ones are bigger bags. Thanks for the advice.
@@mikebox hahahahaah I was looking at the black multicam too. With the new exped mat which is black. Gotta be color correct in the bush now... lol
@@SurvivalSavvvy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 no shit. I’m not not black gear. But I like that camo. Prefer to have it in tropical

Hi there, what is the Tisex sheeting that you refer to please ?
Tyvex. This is a waterproof sheeting that builders place outside of a house that is sandwiched between the inner and outer facade of the house.
Hardcore Overprized! , like if they do Coke in their Marketing departement
Is over priced. But I then have to see several things.
