My First Aid-Kit, Why you should carry more than less

I always carry a first aid kit as part of my EDC and included in my ten essentials. There are many great kits on the market. But, you should always add items that you think are important. Like pain medications and any special medications you may need. Make sure you have a flashlight and a good cutting tool added. Thanks for supporting the channel. I've been sporting this waist pouch for several years now. Last year I modified it because the waist strap was too small, short and the fastex buckle and velcro was placed in the middle of the strap. Which meant it road to high, and the velcro met at my neck. So I did was anyone would do. I modified it and have been testing it.. well. it passed the test. and I am happy with the modifications I'...

Garmont Tactical T8 NFS Boot, Is this the boot to replace the Vietnam era Jungle Boot?
Btw whats the weight on this?
170 Grams
@mikebox looked at the s1 pro. It weight is 257 grams. Even looked that the f1 being like 147 grams or something. I think yours in a rat tail Tang. But I imagine it could take a beating but I wouldn't want too. Without a doubt amazing looking knife. Seems like this is the way to go when people complained about the grip being too small for the f1. I think this is perfection. Good choice. But with it comes with a cost.
@gospelninja2.016 I’ve had it so long. It’s been the best investment. But there was one before I got it… coming up in a video soon
Super nice knife. I have the s1 pro. And still thinking of the f1 knife in com3v i sent back on Amazon. I cutted with it before returning(shhhh). But was amazing cutter. Been thinking about buying another one of these. Because the weight savings. Or a bark river gunny scanni.
I’ve owned some Bark Rivers. But I prefer the Fallkniven brand
@@mikebox well, now I guess I'm going to have to spend 200 for a cpm3v F1 now. Thanks.
Sorry
Great info Mike!...thanks amigo...MT
Welcome
Savotta is way better
Although I like Savotta Packs. They aren’t close to how many people are using ALICE Packs. But when it comes to comfort. Yes. Layout?
Nice lookin little bag
I really like it. Compact and loads of pockets. Not expensive. About 30.-
@@mikebox Have been using a german made leather version wich is half the size of that one for over 14 years now. I've been using it near daily. Good stuff.
@snarfeno once you find what fits. Nothing fits better. This is with all of life.
Hey Mike , I just ordered a black one from Amazon yesterday . Should receive it tomorrow . I was looking at some reviews on it and came across your channel . So I’m a new subscriber … You should do a video on car/Truck EDC gear . I think it would be interesting . Stay well …
Thanks for following the channel. And your suggestion.
Yes, it is true. Just a Supertool, the best name for that excellet tool. It is worth of its name. Thank You for this video. Greetings from SLOVAKIA. You have a new fan Sir.
Thanks. Welcome to our channel. Look forward to hearing from you
Looks nice
Jim green boot company are developing a mock toe moccasin style boot and they will be coming out soon and will be less than half the price of these for those of us who cant afford 6, 7, 800 bucks i wish i could afford them tho lol one day
I think that’s the thing that upsets me the most. Expensive boots. Terrible SAV or service after purchase. I felt this the most. Ok, you paid…. Problem? Your problem.
The old version has no lock on the blades but it was the best you could get at this time; i was in the Navy, it rusted easily. Also owned the newer 300 version, i didn't like the steel they used, easily broke the screwdriver. After that i tried plenty of lighter different models, the last ones i still use are the wingman séries.
Salt kills everything.
Love the clean, simple look of the old pst/supertools
That's the one I own! The stainless (silver) Supertool 300. I love it. Never thought I'd use one, but my friend said he swore by his Gerber. I bought it a couple of years ago, and wow... big, but amazing.
It’s the monster of tools
I own this pack and the Jääkäri M quoted as 30L ... In my opinion it's way bigger .. I'd say it would hold all that kit inside before you even add side pockets .. you can also clip on the Hatka 12L.. obviously the more you lump on it weight wise the more you push to he comfort of the carrying system. I love Savotta kit they are beautifully made ... I like the Kahaka 25L but I keep it uncomplicated without pouches added because it has no ventilation on the back... Because it's designed to be worn over body armour
Agreed
At least someone commented.
Many thanks Mike, fixed my problem perfectly.
Thanks. Happy to help
I'm making a winter setup for myself. Last winter i did -8 -12 celcius and i was as warm as a rolled buritto with hot sauce. Might upload a video about it once its finished. Its not cheap lol
I’ll be camping this weekend.
@@mikeboxWell that will be great cause now all those damned mosquito's and ticks wont be gettin on ya. No sweaty rolls neither. Usually where i live tempratures should be already at -5 right now. But this year it seems like its not. Right now its 10 celcius. going down to max 5 celcius. 10 celcius difference. Maybe next month better luck. Will be trying to train myself to lift all that weight. Quite heavy piece of kit. Trying to stay under 15kg's for everything. food and water included. I've also gained quite the body-weight. a difference of 30-40kg's. So My rolls will keep me warm aswell. And great padding afcourse. The bellyeh shall survive. Holy rolls of warmth indeed
Looks great to put your Rifle in for winter. So the mechanism does not freeze completely from the wet-frost. Keep inside your bag to keep operatable.
Indeed. It’s just that. A ware resistant sheath to transport the Broom Stick. 🤣
@ Hittem on the head with the Broomstick and they all shall see stars ✨ ⭐️
@snarfeno 🤣🤣🤣
Good use of the word broomstick to explain an interesting product. Thanks
Thanks. I don’t need problems with RUclips.
What do you do for Doic there in Switzerland? Enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing.
I see for Doic. Makes some great Swiss made items. Mostly pouches for electricians. But he’s made and worked on many products.
Thanks!!!
Very welcome
hahaha I know this spot ! I grab my eggs just past the red roof. You have the bells and have the big truck that comes to pick up wheels of Gruyère right in the middle of the night, and an other one 3 times a week for the extra milk stored in these big metal containers, it goes ding-ling-ling right in front my windows. Sometimes I just wish the dairy would go bankrupt so I could finally sleep at night.
Too funny. We live in the same village?
@@mikebox you saw me yesterday in the woods 😉
@simplyme-88 I’m lost? Madame?

@simplyme-88 I remember. I saw many people Sunday in my walk. I am happy to have met you. We must have a meetup and talk. I left my number in your car window. I guess you didn’t see it. 🤣🤣🤣
I like it... but it is nearly $500 Canadian dollars, a bit steep these days! Years ago I really wanted a Fallkniven F1, your video has reminded me of this. Hmm... adding to my list.
Like I said in the video. Look for a used one for sell. They are going at a lower price I’ve seen. Near 150.-
@mikebox I will do so! 😊
Interested please advise on price and shipping
24.90 chf. Each. Shipping would depend on your address
Real life experiences make it so much better. Thank you for sharing
That's like calling the 911 the beetle killer. Totally different market.
Very true.
Good info! Thanks!
Y’all might not believe me, but try wearing the Helikon-Tex wind shirt under the SAS smock if it rains. Yes, under it. That combination will keep you dry; no waxing required.
I’ve done this. The Arktis smocks are made using this method
The sad reality is that SAS troopers don’t need a knife pocket because they’re not allowed to carry knives in the UK.
I've been carrying one for a couple years, I like it. Along with a couple Microtech otf's.
It’s a great emergency tool to have on you.
love finding things I forgot in my myriad pockets filled jackets, coats, pants etc. Hilarious man!
You never know
Nice 😀 I'm deciding on which what lol
The most important features of a multi-tool are how it looks and how comfortable it is to permanently wear it when not in use. For every job a multi-tool can do, there is other tools that can do it better, but the one thing that a multi-tool has over those, is its immidiate availability. All other features are subject to personal preference.
Very true. It’s not a tool to. Told a house. It’s a back up that’s light weight. Compact and accessible
@@mikebox I grew from a Buck knife to a Victorinox toolbox, but I realise the crucial moment was, when I decided to permanently reserve that spot on my belt for a black leather pouch. Even in my workshop, I sometimes find myself grabbing for it in a reflex, without looking or thinking.
I hate 2 things. I hate it does not spring back open and I hate serrated blades, Just me
I understand about the blade. But this one is only half serrated.
the CX is a non-serrated blade version, same blade shape
@cheeseblast you can see in the tool it’s a CX version. And it has a serrated or half serrated blade
they come in both, mine came in a normal blade. You just got to shop around to make sure you get the right one son! Trump for America! Amen.
Thanks for the review!
Love the videos!!!
Thanks
The material is a blend of flax and stinging nettle. They couldn’t import cotton During WW2. Stinging nettle is very tough and can be used for rope. The blend gives the S&P Color.- Chris K
Interesting
Good review. What size are you wearing here? and what size you usually wear? maybe include your weight and hight...that would help a lot
XXL
I normally am a 9.5 D (btwn D and E) on the Bannock scale but usually get a size 9D in boots if the last is roomy. In Russell Moccasins, I wear a 9E. I got fitted by Luke from Russell Moccasins at the stitchdown bootcamp in Brooklyn NYC recently. I couldn't believe how comfortable they are, such a great boot.
A light grey dye job would look pretty cool, in my head at least. Up close the digital pattern would show through but from far away it would be great greyman gear. That's all in my head though, so I'm not sure how it would play out in real life view.
I hear you.
Hi Mike, I have the large MOLLE ll rucksack in Woodland Camo. Was fortunate to find one on ebay several years ago. Haven't tried it out yet. I've heard a lot of bad reviews on the plastic frame, especially in cold weather, of it cracking. But I'm not planning to carry 100 lbs in it. Hopefully it will work out fore winter camping. Also, I have a CFP-90 pack that I wanted to try out for winter, It's huge! Great video, thanks for showing how to pack it. 👍
Wow! Molle 2 large. Thats a keeper. We had the Cpf90s at Bragg. But we couldn’t jump them.
I've dyed some of that pattern. Make sure you machine wash it first. I used "RIT" dye. I've used apple green, dark green, peacock green, camel, black, I've done some of those 7L side pouches and canteen / general purpose pouches, they all dye a little different, I think it depends on the materials. I've been happy with all the dye jobs except trying a little black in the green, it came out too dark and kinda blue. Apple green and peacock green with some camel were good combos.
Great advice. I’ve sprayed several pieces f gear in the past. Worked better than dying
Good Lord that things a monster !
I had the USMC FIBLE before. Heavy and high. This army pack isn’t bad. But it’s more for winter use
put a small wheelbarrow in there!
🤣🤣🤣
lol, its taken me all night at work to watch a 10 minute video.. lol.. I would think with a bag that large you could put everything in it including all the other bags.. its funny, for $39 I almost bought one off these on ebay tonight with two spare diddy bags and the frame, straps and belt.. but I swear I think it is way to big, I would be inclined to fill it up.. but man for $39 I dont know if I can let it go..
Great price.
Mike. Do you use a bivy bag with your sleeping bag or do you just put the sleeping back on the sleep mat on top of the tyvek and make some time of tarp shelter?
I don’t use a body. I’ve tried it and found it too warm. I always, usually build a shelter. Either under a spruce tree or a tarp
@@mikebox thank you for the response!
@KenCutcher-h2m welcome

Thanks
Mike you gotta get out in th woods some and do some hands on stuff with all this great gear!
Totally agree. I’m soon to have some cold weather. That’s when I camp the most
@@mikeboxi like it colder as well, no snakes, no tics!

Totally agree. My hips knees and back won’t allow for the heavy loads at distance anymore
Thanks Mike, never heard of or seen those pouches before. Those would be very handy indeed!
These little pouches are great.
