      I used to think like this...until I was finally able to do it. Keep working on it. The first dip and the first pull-up that you do, literally are the most satisfying thing ever. I got that much satisfaction only once when I was perfectly able to juggle football 10 times at one go. Don't give up

    I used the assisted dip machine at the gym. To my surprise after only about a month I’m doing dips freely! Feels so amazing. Dips, pull ups, squats, are the best, almost all you need

      Same, but with pull ups, I remember not being able to do a proper pull up last month, yesterday after a month of training with assassited machine, I just hit 2 without the machine and 'proper' form.

      @@justinjustin8309 I do the same for each exercise, 3 or maybe 4 sets, that is the usual for almost everyone, though there is an argument for doing 2 sets (I dislike the steroid ‘bro split’ and think push/pull or even full body is superior)

      Don't underestimate the push ups even though you commented on this a year ago. A standard push up is good, but if you ever want more change look up diamond, wide, or one hand

    If you have rings, you can also do feet supported dips(knees bent behind your body version is better for your chest). I learned my first ever dips with only feet supported dips and negatives of my bodyweight.

    Doing 100 push-ups a day with variations such as (wide, close, decline, tiger bend and weighted push-up) helped me a lot even 5kg weighted push-ups make a difference

      @@jdfactoryclips_ Test your max pushups and try to hit half of that each set (3 or more sets). Start with regular pushups and focus on improving your form. Bad form is basically doing nothing but causing harm to your shoulders. Stay consistent. You got this King

    As someone who doesn’t have a dip bar, I’ll probably just do the elevated surface ones then maybe use two strong tables or something on either side, I’ll figure something out😂

      If you have a pull up bar(or somewhere to hang), you can buy a pair of gymnastics rings and do your dips(and also push ups) there.
      I did my first ever dips on rings so it isn't that hard.

      If I was you I would try and find a way to have your hands at your sides. Having them behind your back puts your shoulders in a compromised position.

      He hasn't answered you yet, but I'm guessing he's pretty tall and that he has to bend his knees. Otherwise, it is not an effective posture for optimal dips.

      @@higherresolution4490 I am also very tall and have to bend my legs in order to be able to do dips. I don't cross my legs because I think this promotes disbalances in the muscles working in the dip. from my experience it is not an issue to just have your legs next to each other instead of having them crossed.

    I have heard from sean nalewanyj i think, that dips on bench/sofa or the elevated dips you demonstrate is not a safe shoulder position and can hurt your shoulders.
