"The Gods you worship are steel At the altar of rock 'n' roll you kneel A slave who forever rocks Is chained in the devil's locks And slain by the bloody axe I wail" The most metal lyrics ever put to music!!!!
Well said... Saw them in 84 on this tour. No pretentious bullshit for posting on facebook or you tube looking for "likes". We were just kids having a great time! Rebellion in rock is dead
@@dylanbasstica8316 Lita Ford on the Dangerous Curves tour in her fishnets and chaps were THE BEST. "You guys like my butt?" Hell yeah we do Lita!" LOL
@@Coasterdude02149 lol sounds like a prince show my dad went to back in the day, prince turned around and practically asked the same question and he said all the dudes are like "he'll no" while the chick's were sweating bullets lol
Back in the day, Wasp was simply unbeatable. Ive seen them live at their peak 6 times and each time was amazing.maybe im wrong for saying this but i prefer Blackie on Bass. Dude made the whole frontman/bassist dynamic look cool. Wasnt too many singer/bass players in those days. The look just fit him well

AWESOME!! This is the Real deal! Holy shit! I just love this Line up,Piper and Chris Holmes. The Sound is incredible, one of the Best metal bands ever!!
I remember when this record came out, it blew my mind! I spent many of my teenage nights stoned on booze, buds, lsd, and whatever listening to these guys. the sound was so gritty, blackies voice. It made me want to play loud ass rebellion rock, and now I do.
With Blackie Lawless at 1.93 (6ft 4) and Chris Holmes at 1.96 (6ft 5) these guys would have been seriously intimidating approaching in these outfits 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I saw them open for Iron Maiden in Biloxi MS in 1985 and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. They have always been one of my favorite Metal Bands. When I first heard that voice singing L.O.V.E. I knew they were going to be good.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood But against principalities, against powers Against the rulers of the darkness of this world Against spiritual wickedness in high places.
At least Blackie had the balls to admit that EVERY musician borrows at least something from those before them but continued to say that unless you bring something of your own to the dance and maintain it, you'll not make it. But he should NEVER have gotten rid of that line-up. Chris Holmes had major drinking problems but Steve Riley was bad-ass and had no issues.
More metal than metal! There were a lot of great LA rock and metal bands that were lumped in with the glam bands simply because of the time and place. But W.A.S.P. certainly was the best. It's just too bad Steve, I mean Blackie, tends to let his ego get the best of him.
i still like all the members that have been in WASP but to see Stet play live in Ft Myers bch is amazing in band 10,000 views .Tim,John & Stet just kick butt every time

I saw WASP live back in 1984, not in London but in Stockholm (where the "Girl" was a bit more naked than in some other parts of that tour. I was only 12 years old, but it was my first "real" rock concert, and I loved it. WASP 4 -ever.
In my opinion, like '70s KISS, '70s Alice Cooper, early '80s Ozzy, and early '80s AC/DC, ONE OF THE DEFINITIONS OF A "CONCERT-SPECTACLE"-W.A.S.P.: LIVE AT THE LYSEUM! A LOT of TODAY'S concerts are NO WHERE NEAR the aforementioned shows!
When they first came out Blackie was going for a Gene Simmons "shock vibe". As WASPs music later became more mainstream it seems Blackie decided a Paul Stanley "flamboyant vibe" was in order. Through all the member changes he also probably figured he should just be on rhythm guitar. They were my first concert in '84 opening for Maiden. I was 10 yrs old.
When I first saw a WASP cassette in the record store and asked about them, the clerk said "I haven't listened to it yet, but I hear it's very metallic." DUH!!!
Did anyone ever notice how similar the drums are at the beginning of this song and Slayer's "Hell Awaits"? And they both have Hell in the title. And they both kick ass! Watch slayer hell awaits live in studio 54 to see...
@hubitrece Wow, it's cool that for someone like yourself who was born in '84, you remember this stuff. Keep listening to the classics man...you'll never see talent like this again! Take care.
@deminidze An unruly, rowdy or mischievous person.... or the larva of the dobsonfly. I'm pretty sure they meant the former. Also what TheEJDavies said.
I was at this gig at the Lyceum (which now rather sadly hosts The Lion King) and it was a fantastic gig. WASP at the time were what say, Machine Head or Trivium are now, ie, very hot. Blackie was at his best, vocals shredding the air like someone had loosed a bandsaw and it was kicking like a mule. I later got to know Blackie well. He's a very very intelligent man and a consumate performer.
Hell YEAH! Blackie and Chris are WASP! Blackie has the perfect voice for southwest style metal! May he for-ever rock us with his south west Texas style of metal!!!!!!!
Damn, geat line up!!! Too bad I was born that year, if only I'd been around a bit longer I might of had the chance to check that shit out! Greetz from Holland!
I saw the Blacky Warlock hanging at the Louisville Hardrock Cafe, deffinetly did not look like that, and it had the Stealth head stock.. not that ugly thing. i have a Warlock with the Widow head stock :) Love B.C. Rich!
this has to be the best wasp line up, although i saw them in 89 touring for the headless album, great as well, what an album, never got the credit they deserved
COB did a great cover! A "Cover" song is one that a band does of their favorite, most influencial artists in their own style. You do not try to "recreate" anything, but play it your own way. COB also does a great cover of Alice Cooper's "Bed Of Nails". Alexi and COB are awesome! WASP Kills!!!
Wasp were absolutely at the top of their game here. They will never get credit for it but I think they were one of the best bands of the 80$!!
@Mr_FrederickHerbert Wrong, they were very popular, thus the reason we are talking about them.
Nooppppe
The Armored Saint/Metallica/WASP concert in St Louis somewhere around Febuary 1985 stands as one of my lifetime highlights.....
Been a long time since your comment, but I saw them in February of 1985 too. In Cleveland
Dad: turn this off!
Me: why!?
Dad: we have bigger speakers downstairs
This is not a joke. My middle name is Hellion based on this song. I was born to a 18 and 20 year old in 1986. I dont mind it though. Metal metal metal
bryan avelar you could have a worse name check mine out lol 🤘🤘🤘
That’s awesome, it’s Crispin Glover’s middle name too.
bryan avelar that is pretty cool to be named after a wasp song! Love it!
I tip my cap to your parents...lol, it doesn't get more "Metal" than that. At least it wasn't "Orgasmatron."
I would use that over your first name. Love it
W.A.S.P. at it's wicked best. Totally bad ass. A truly awesome classic..
Easily one of the greatest metal bands of all time
I was 18 when W.A.S.P. - the 1st album came out. I still love this album. One of the greatest albums EVER!
Oh god, I love them! I'd pay any money to turn back in 1984 and go to that concert!!

It's screaming out your name
