There are lots of videos of people trying to race the plaid and I always think the driver is a big factor in those races. Good prep, equal amount of HP (in relation to weight) and a tuned suspension should grant ICE the win. It think Demonology is a very good driver and those races prove it in my opinion. We should always aspire to beat those RC cars. That's all I meant brother.@@RacerX9

It has nothing to do with driving ability it has to do with figuring out what works best on your car which can take a lot of passes to perfect.

When the 2018 demon dropped, I wasn’t impressed bc it could only do 0-60 in 2.3 and 1/4 in 9.65 on a perfect surface with an absolute wheelman driving. None of that performance translates to regular road surfaces unless you mod the wheel setup.
With the 170, I give it its flowers bc it’s good at what it said it’s supposed to be good at. So I’m a fan of it.

Ok stop this BS. The plaid isn't a family car, it's has 1000hp, AWD and three motors. It's made to go fast. It's not a Honda Accord 4 Door with 230hp. The plaid was made to go fast dummy
With slicks tires a stripped out 1 seat interior on e85 and better power to weight ratio plus it costs more to.

With drag slicks they will go high 8 seconds Dodge does not build this car for cornering. It is 4500 lbs and heavy. No where in the video does it say no A.C. and it is clear in the video that the back seat is not removed. Quit making excuses.

Racer X is fine. It's a matter of bad circumstances. It's all about that track prep. Give him that, and I guarantee you, he's got this. Just like he did when he took the win from Donkmaster with the legendary Xcesiv.
Track prep and better DA lol. Demonology would have done no better if it were on the same day and track as racerx when he races a Plaid. Plaids run 9.2s usually too so this demon isn't doing anything remarkable and it had every advantage.

The Tesla Plaid starting price is 108,000 . Very competive with Demon 170 prices considering dealer markups and flippers. The Lucid Air Saphire is far more sophisticated and higher performance. Even at its 250,000 dollar price tag there have already been Demon 170's selling for that or more. If the Banshee comes in with Lucid Air performance at 150K or less they will sell like hotcakes. @@djpeeps2772

he did not press the button.. the motor stalled out, you can hear it. So, when the Motor stalls out, you have to press the button to shut the car all the way off to turn the car back on that’s what you’re seeing.. I own three of these types of cars and That’s how I know. But you can Clearly hear the motor turn off. No, I do not own a demon. I meant I own three dodges.

The 170's 2nd to 3rd shift seems so have a very slight pause between shifts

@@hdelano11 That's the fun in racing though and that's what makes Herman's skill impressive in my opinion. You said it yourself, the Tesla is consistant but it takes no skill just to mash the acceleration pedal. You don't have to worry about it spinning, reaction times or shifting gears.
The fact that he got it off the line and outran it is scary if you really think about it. There aren't many situations where you can outshift the computers in these cars nowadays.

As a city boy I didn't grow up around or even know anything about racing till a few years ago when I stumbled upon your channel and while I couldn't point out a differential from a oil pan I have come to love the sport. Since the release of the Model S Plaid I have seen Tesla come on the scene and demolish everything in their path and can not tell you how good it is to see a car with that much growl kick some Tesla butt instead but, I have to wonder if that Plaid was the best example in the 1/4 right now. What would it take to see you line up against Tesla Plaid Channel, me thinks that would be a great race between the two of you as he is pretty consistent at 9.2*'s. Would love to see who takes best of three between the growl and the whisper. BTW, Thank you for your channel, I had no idea racing went so deep in our community and am glad to see an ambassador of the sport that can show young men a better way of racing instead of doing it on the streets. Thank you for giving this old head something to hold his head up about.

Stock vs. Stock is an important consideration. If you throw enough go-fast at any ICE vehicle you can eventually get it to beat a Tesla in a prepped lane with a long burnout....but what does that prove? It proves how gott-damned quick the Plaid is. A stock Plaid, at that.
