Hi, Thank you for the video. What about visiting other countries? I hold a Visa 491 and I work for a company as well as have my own. All in regional areas as required. I am willing to stay 3 months overseas. I will keep paying rent, be still contracted by the company (maybe on an unpaid leave status) and with my business still operating and profiting. Condition 8579 says anything about not passing 60 direct days and 90 indirect days overseas? I believe I saw that somewhere. The question: Can I travel oversear for 90 direct days?

Hi Karl, Thank you for all the useful information you have been providing through your videos, i have been an avid follower.Through all the information available on 491, it is clear that this visa holder can work across all regions except the three main cities just as detailed for 8579, but the thing which is not clear is,... If 491 holder works in a different state then, will the sponsoring state have any say or can they object to 491 visa holder's application for 191 after 3 years? Can the sponsoring state cause any hindrance for 191 at all?

Hi Karl - A question here. With the new eased state nomination criteria, could a person get multiple invites from different states if they submitted that same EOI for consideration on the ROIs to the individual states? For example, say if Ruth submits "EOI1234" for 189/190/491, and mentions this EOI number on her ROIs to NSW, TAS and lets say VIC - is there a possibility that:
1. Ruth could receive a 491 invite from more than 1 state for EOI1234 (491 because of higher points).
2. Ruth could receive a 491 invite from one state, and while the EOI is locked, receive another invite for 190 from a different state?
3. Ruth could receive all three types (though however unlikely).
Now I understand that the state nomination criteria are rather filtering for onshore applicants where they need to have been residing in that state recently. But, I'm weighing more towards offshore applicants - if work experience/skill/points are all met, what then are the chances that the above could happen?

The states have access to all the EOI data Tharuka. Generally they want people who only want to live in the their state.

With condition 8579 on the 491 visa for example you can spend as much time as you like overseas

Hi Carl, when you are in a 491 visa, do you have to live in Australia for a certain number of days within the 3 year period considered for 191 visa?
You do not have to spend the 3 years in Australia Heshan, just have held the visa for three years and meet the income requirement
Hi Karl, I am in Australia on 491 family sponsorship visa from past 4 months. I am living in a regional area and working for a person whose company is also registered for the same regional area where I live. I work in building construction line for which my employer sends me sometimes to visit metro postcodes regarding work. Will that be any problem for me and one more thing that I am working on ABN without super contribution from my employer, will this can be a problem in getting 191 visa.

Hello, thank you for the videos. One question regarding visa 485, in order to obtain this visa by studying in Australia you must complete two years of study, however the requirement also says you can finish the course in 16 months or more. Does this means that I finish my course in 16 calendar months I can apply for 485 visa? For example carpentry, is a course of 104 weeks, but if I have fulfilled all my subjects and study requirements in 16 months … can I apply for 485 visa? Any info will be appreciated, thanks

I have a question. How to claim 5 points for experience. After skill assessment is done, is it necessary or mandatory to do migration points advice from TRA and verify it?
I did my skill assessment in January but I have 14 months experience in my current job. Can I claim points?
Not mandatory but if there is a skill assessment body which offers that advice then the department often asks for it to be completed even after you lodged your application Amrit. In other words then yes it is better to just get it done
What about if you were to go on a secondment for a few weeks due to Covid?
