Cannot we use a duplicate letter received from Engineers Australia after the invitation date?
EA assessments do not expire and it's the same letter issued earlier for a degree obtained in 2016. Just the date is different. Don't they have to apply the Thapa case to extend the validity period of a skill assessment for the whole time of invitation including the 60 days period?
If you wish to try outside of official policy guidelines Madujith then you have right to run that argument
@@ailsaustralia Thank you Karl for the reply. There are plenty of applicants caught up with this situation getting an invitation while they were renewing the documents.
Most offshore applicants lost the hope of invitations with covid restrictions. All our documents were valid during the whole covid time and were overlooked. Now suddenly they are inviting while the people were renewing them. Some take time. So hopefully they look at this with compassion.
@@ailsaustralia most of us are having this issue. DHA should make an annoucement before our invitation period ends.

Hello Karl, what about the professional year validity for the migration points claim. It has mentioned that has the applicant completed gazzeted professional year in the last 48 months. Few migration agent told that it is the starting date of the professional year program. Please clarify this one.

I have got my Skill assessment done and good to know that English test result is valid for 3 years, now i need to apply for EOI and ROI. What about the Thapa case verdict regarding Skill Assessment where it was renewed in the 60 days of the invitation.

I have been waiting now fir 5yrs for news of my Contribution Parental Visa 143 to be processed. Any updates on how much longer I jave to wait. Heard nothing since Nov 2017 when i recieved confirmation my application being received by Aus Immi TIA Karl.
Something about “Usual country of residence”. Skillselect defines “Usual country of residence” as such with this example: if someone is born in UK, but currently travel at Canada with a temporary visa, then the “Usual country of residence” is Canada.
Does that mean someone would have to travel back to their home country (or another one) to make their EOI valid as offshore application? Or as long as the address is valid, it doesn’t matter?
People have thier own opinion of what this means and in the end it has no bearing on a 189 visa decsion Estelle

I just did my EOI , i don't know why but the system didn't grant me 10 points for " other qualification or award recognized by assessing authority" , it's a cert 3 engineering and the job title Is fitter 323211 anybody knows?

Hi Karl, any advice regarding the work experience section? Should we include all work experience or just the ones related to the occupation we’re applying with?
I will say include whatever you like as it doesn't really matter. Your Case Officer is only interested in the ones related to your nominated occupation/skills assessment.

I just wanted to know, my completion date for PY (Accounting) is 2nd March 2020… is it valid for 4 years after completion or 3 years? Heard a few Mara agents stating that the Department of Home Affairs has recently confirmed migration agents through MIA that the Professional year is valid for 4 years starting from the 'commencement' date of the program. Can you kindly shed some light on this matter Karl? The information circulating is so confusing. :(
Yes, this information is confusing, I checked with my professional year course provider, they said, it is valid for 4 years from the course completion date. Spoke to ACS, but got info that it is valid for 3 years from the completion date and also we cannot claim any points even if we renew it. Only option is to redo the course for the whole 1 year. Not sure if we can claim the points for PY now or not. Please share your replies from your lawyers or migration agents.

I have applied EOI(190 visa NSW) on 15th October 2023 and claimed 80 points.
A small breakdown of points :
Age : 30
English Language Ability : 20
Education : 15
State Nomination : 5
Overseas Experience(Out of Australia) : 5
Partner Qualifications : 5
The 3 year validity of PTE score for my wife expired on 23rd November 2023(actual test date was 23rd November 2020), but still I got the invite(190 visa) on 5th Jan 2024 with 80 points. Now, what should I do?
I have received the notification from NSW that any changes to EOI after the invite will automatically cancel the application.
My wife again re-appeared for PTE exam on 12th Jan 2024, one week after the invite was received and she successfully secured proficient english eligibility which gives 5 points.
Here are some questions :
Q1 : So, while submitting documents for nomination, should I submit old PTE score card and wait for their rejection or should I upload the new score card and wait for their clarifications about the discrepancies?
Q2 : Can I submit both the old and new PTE score card?
Q3 : What are the chances if this case will rejected or accepted? What should I do from here onwards?

Does partner skill assessment (eg, assessed with ACS) has a validity? Also, assume I got positive partner skill assessment in Jun 2022
1) how long it's valid
2) will there be a chance that CO might ask for a fresh reference letter from partner employer?
ACS have their validity period stated on the skill assessment Ram but for partner points, it does not matter if the skill assessment of the partner has expired.

Hi Karl. Thank you for being so kind in sharing so much of information to all of us. Please guide me, I am about to lodge 491 visa by claiming full partner points. My husband skill assessment is valid up to june 2023 . I will be submitting my visa application by this month end. Do you suggest me renewal of skill assessment again as it is valid for min 6 months? I have seen your video where u mentioned that patner skill assessment must be valid at the time of assessment of visa and now a days all assessments are delayed.
Skills assessment should be valid for 2 to 3 years. I am wondering how your partner's assessment valid for just 6 months? What Assessment Body did your partner use?
@@SmanDiva it is valid for 3 years. What karl told, partner skill assessment should be valid even after invitation is received. My husbands skill assessment is valid for another 6 months, I m abt to lodge visa by this month end so was concerned whether I need to re do skill assessment.
@@SmanDiva hiiii, if I found a mistake after submitting an EOI like spell mistake or date of year wrongly entered, by updating the EOI will I loose chances of getting visa due to corrections or updating my EOI will refuse visa process??

Hi Karl, I have tried to find a definite answer for a inquiry related to EOI, if you could shed some light on it :
-Does EOI lodged for other states than the one applied nomination for, could adversely affect nomination under review ? And Does case officers have access to EOI for consideration, where other states are stated as preferred ?
The system allows you to submit multiple EOIs so that you have the option of applying to various States. So I believe only the States your chose on a EOI can assess that EOI.

Hi Karl, want to know is there any way we can get information from the immigration department that why are they not responding after submitting additional documents (s56) which was our home country PCC ... its been now more than 50 days now... it really gives depression when they r quite and not responding not granting our visas.. 😔 heard that's PCC is the last thing they ask before granting visa...😢

my test result have expired today, and next test is due next week, should i update my EOI instantly that I don't have valid test result within the last 36 months? When i tried to do so, it said doing this you wont be eligible in this round if the invitation round happens as 189 and 190 need to have a minimum of competent english requirement. However, considering that WA is not accepting new EOIs lately, does updating the EOI kick me out of the WA race? or should i try my luck and hope the rounds wont happen untill i have my next test result out.
When you get your new result just update the Eoi's

Yes correct. EOI Points are locked upon Invitation from the Department of Home Affairs.

Hi Karl I just received results of my reapplied ACS assessment and do I have to update this in existing eoi or should I create new EOI? I didn't receive any invitation though. I tried to update EOI but cannot login so sent them email to reset password as well but Is it OK if I still wait for invitation with old result.of assessment and update new result when they will send me invitation? I received a pre invite 08th Dec 2022 under 189 (Offshore General Accountant) category but will the new assessment be considered valid for the visa application?
Below are my points and need your support
- My skills assessment expired back in the year 2021. Can I apply with a new skills assessment since we have 60 days to lodge a visa application?
- Providing that my skill select account is locked now, my PTE will be expiring on 14th Dec 2022 (scored 79+). Should I retake the PTE?
- In a new skills assessment, I need min 65+ in PTE. If I apply the assessment with this min PTE result. So, in the new assessment the PTE results will be 65+ but for visa application I need to show 79+ as I already mentioned in the 2nd point. Will there be any issue due to different PTE results?
Please advise asap. I need it badly.

Can i replace five points that i claimed in EOI for experience by ten points of PTE English test i have achieved after my pre-invitation received or the officer will refuse the visa anyway?
Pre invitation by a state government is not the same as the invitation to apply for the visa by the department Ibraham so there would be no harm in upgrading your EOI points

Hello sir, recevied ITA on 4 dec 2021 and also lodged visa file on 22 dece 2021 for australia with 95 points under subclass NSW 190 offshore in network engineering (263111). @@neetu9212 Karl is the only 1 lawyer who is saying it is valid from the completion date, and then my course provider said the same. ACS and all other MARA agents are saying it is valid for 4 years but from the start date. Not sure how to proceed and afraid of the outcome too.

I got WA invitation on 22 October 2022, and have claimed 5 points of PY in EOI.
The Professional year started on 23/07/2018 and the graduation date is 27/05/2019.
Can I accept the invitation and apply for visa?
Because the definition of PY validity is confusing.
As per EOI
“ Has the client completed a gazetted professional year in Australia in the last 48 months?
As per immigration point table
“
-completed over a period of at least 12 months
-completed in Australia in the four years before you are invited to apply for a visa“
As per Schedule 6D
“ for a period totalling at least 12 months in the 48 months immediately before that time “

Our opinion Kayshap is that word completed should be read as its common meaning, that is when you completed the course, not when you started it.

Hi Kashyap, we are exactly in the same position as you are. My PY graduation is in April, 2019 too. Not sure if it is still valid and can claim points or not.
