“People don’t have f around and find out money” - THIS! I have been chronically ill for the past 8 years and it feels like no one expect those in the community understand the financial burden it puts on a person. There are so many things in my life that are essential that are not covered by insurance, or that still cost a ton with insurance. I would love to try out different diets or non-western medicine but I don’t have the money to actually test them out.
With those prices, you could legitimately start to afford a couple of sessions with a professional pelvic floor specialist without insurance coverage. How awful, what a disgusting scam company

my guess with the exploding candles thing is that they cheaped out and used jars made of glass that wasn't heat-safe. if you go into the diy candle making world, you often get warned to be careful about how rapid and/or uneven heating can cause a lot of stress on glass which in turn can cause it to fracture in dramatic and dangerous fashion, so it's important you stick to tempered glass for your pyrophilic tendencies. but I guess goop never got that memo.
I make candles for myself and family. I always buy glass jars that are heat safe and I’m not a luxury brand. So, it seems insane that they didn’t do their due diligence
That’s what happens when someone design a product but don’t actually know anything about the product. The company that sold her the jars not at fault cause they really don’t know what you might use it for.

I didn't know about the exploding candle lawsuit. How wild is it that a "luxury" candle can't be burnt for more than a couple hours 😂 I have tonnes of pound shop candles which burn all evening and have never exploded. Goop is one very expensive joke at this point.
Not to mention why wouldn't you make it into a smaller tea light candle that will be done after 2 hours as opposed to taking a year to go through this big jar and having to be monitoring it.
She drinks coffee in the morning, doesn't eat until noon and has bone broth for lunch. That sounds like seriously disordered eating.
This is how a broke college student eats! If I was as wealthy as her I'd have all of the food!
That's the diet of an anorexic person. Just add in a few hours of exercise and lots of coffee, and you'll be skeletal just like her.
i had to eat like that for medical reasons and the doctor literally said “since you will be doing this for over a month you will become malnourished. This is not healthy. You are doing this so the tear in your colon can repair itself. This is not a diet you want to continue after it's healed."
Something that I find so ironic about Goop is that they sell “fixes” for non-existent problems and are worried about fake issues (i.e. underwires causing cancer) but sell candles, which actually do release potentially negative chemicals into the air. And hell, I still burn candles, but I’m also not the one running around with an egg up my pussy.
It was really funny being part of the diabetic online community when the clip of her talking about her diet came out. Coffee spikes the blood sugar of a lot of people just because of the caffeine, so saying she has things that won't spike her blood sugar before lunch is not accurate and honestly stupid. If you don't have any type of diabetes and aren't pre-diabetic, you don't need to consider your blood sugar ever; your body will regulate your blood sugar if you don't have diabetes or other blood sugar related diseases.
I always found Gwyneth Paltrow ironic. She starred in a movie about how you shouldn’t be shallow but yet she makes fake beauty products to make people look “youthful.”
Shallow Hal? It's one of my favorites because I'm a fat girl and love Jack Black and Jason Alexander. However, Paltrow doesn't really sell it. She's kinda like Anakin in the prequels. She has no idea what it's actually like to play someone who is fat and her hushed-whisper sad puppy acting didn't do it for me.
I remember a while ago there was a group of women who tested the stuff from this site and one of the women tried the jade egg and forgot she even put it in there and she was in so much pain about five hours after the fact. I automatically think of that whenever I hear about it.
OH MY GOD that is terrifying! If I ever got anything stuck up there I’d be panicking 😂

@@sasamafrassyou get use to the feeling just like when you put a tampon inside. The vagina is not that sensitive when something isnt moving inside of it. The reason the vaginal canal is made that way is so that child birth isnt more excrutiating than it already is.
Oof, the egg thing is scary to think about. I have a retroverted uterus (it’s tilted backwards instead of being straight up and down)- the thought of something getting potentially stuck or causing damage is scary.
Also, there’s something to be said in terms of natural, clean products and who they work for-
Sex products that might not work for people with PCOS/endometriosis/tilted uteruses, mineral sunscreens that only work for people with light or fair complexions- it’s a crummy company.
The steaming and stickers things made me laugh so loudly when I heard about them. No offense to anyone who would want to do that but I feel like I'd burn myself somehow with that. The stickers have to be placebo. I mean a lot of people associate stickers with good memories (scrapbooking, decorating journals, etc.) so for Goop to overhype their stickers just sound so ridiculous and scammy.
So disingenuous n bizar for a multi millionaire to say she started this from her kitchen table. Like she found time n space in "little" home between school pick ups, housework n cooking dinner, like she does that herself n doesn't have staff n nannies etc 🤨🙄
Something interesting is that Gwenyth talks about "detox" but like detox from what?? If you eat like she does everyday, you don't need a detox, you are simply denying your body the nutrients you need.
Not to mention you don't need to detox, that is what your liver does for you. Detox is what you do in the drunk tank, not on the daily.

I'm honestly surprised Goop is even still around. I remember when it first came out and it's ALWAYS had a reputation for being nonsense. I know there are people who unfortunately get reeled into the nonsense, but with the way society has treated this brand in general, I felt like it would have been shut down by now. So ridiculous.

As far as I know, the coffee enema basically makes you go but I can show you that feat by even drinking one cup of coffee. Yay me, saving $130 every day!!!

Bone broth is a supplement, not a meal. It's supposed to be something you put in soup with veggies and meat to make it a meal! I also take it in capsule form for my muscle cramps after working out, but not to replace meals😂ffs

Candlemaker here. Too large of a wick size that doesn’t correlate with the vessel size and wax used will cause overheating issues leaving to possible explosion. Candle making is a science and should be taken seriously.
What bout those sodden wicks that are 3/4” long and are in a 3” diameter candle jar?? Is that bad?? I’ve noticed the flame is really intense and big and hyper active

The candle thing is interesting because I know some handmade candle makers who have to remind their customers to burn their candles for longer - closer to 4 hours he first few times - so they don’t just burn a tunnel down the middle. Because they are made with safety in mind, they don’t burn as hot or as fast as some mall brands.
Also, the fear-mongering of certain ingredients (sunscreen, much) is so frustrating and hypocritical when you list out all the potentially harmful thing they are pushing.

As someone who struggles with pelvic pain and vulvodynia the egg and vagina steaming makes me sooo angry. It would devastate me if someone were to have long-term issues because of the lies that Goop spews!!

I'm a 32G bra size. I do have one no wire bra but finding a no wire bra that actually fits for my size is difficult. I recently had an appointment with my OB where we discussed my breast and back pain. I am a candidate for breast reduction surgery. But I don't want to proceed with that until after I'm done.having children. Until then, I require full support bras to help me. This tactic to demonize underwire bras diminishes the issues that large breast women struggle with daily. I would love to live bras-less but the weight causes pain and struggles.
Would breast reduction have any affect on a woman's ability to nurse?
@@brucheweinberger6863 not typically. But breast feeding has an effect on the breast. If I'm going to pay several thousands to get a reduction which would include a lift, then I don't want to breast feed afterward. It's just a personal preference. I know several women who did their breast reductions prior to having children but they had severe cases of pain and spine issues. I am lucky that my current pain is tolerable.
my biggest question has to be... what is she detoxing from? In the sense that she is eating "detoxing" foods every day... what are you detoxing from girlie? the previous detoxing diet??

Another great video. I just want to issue a bit of a correction, and you're definitely not the first person to do this, but that interview was taken out of context and a lot of people misinterpreted her, "wellness/detox routine," to mean what she typically eats in a day and that is not the case. She even has a food diary video with Harper's Bazaar where she actually does talk about her typical diet and it includes French fries, tacos, etc, "normal," food. I'm not sure why it didn't come up while you were researching... but Paige Christie does make that distinction in one of her videos. We're only human and we don't always get things right, especially at the frequency you put out content, and that you're a one-woman show to boot, there's bound to be a mistake here and there. (I think even people who do have the benefit of teams of researchers get things wrong sometimes.) I think when you cultivate a large audience of people that trust you, you just need to be a little bit more mindful and maybe take the time to just dig a little bit deeper, especially on such a serious issue. (side note: not sure if you know Better Help is running ads on your channel, but I believe there's a way to filter out what types of ads can be shown on your channel. Tip I learned from ClimateTown. So hopefully it doesn't keep happening)

The whole candle thing is important to touch on because this, while yourself and your viewers seem to disagree, is basic and normal candle care. Watch any candle RUclips channel and they will tell you the same thing. ALL candles can be combustible if lit for too long.
The candle should be burned one hour for every inch in diameter the candle is. Period. Any more and the wax pool will get too large, the wax can get super heated, the candle jar can crack, etc.
Furthermore, candles MUST have their wick trimmed before burning.
The number of lawsuits for every candle brand from yankee to bath and body works to luxury brands all because of someone’s absolute negligence is just absurd.
I am NOT defending GP or goop. I am just a candle person. 😂✌🏻
Oh totally candle care is so important. I wanted to bring up the candle lawsuit simple because of goops response to it and how they highlighted Goop as a whole! For this lawsuit they vocalized how much the support what they sell and are sure of it. The candles may not be an issue but there’s many other falsely advertised products that are an issue. So the statement to me sounds like they don’t really care about the fake bs they promote and believe it lol.

What the heck kind of wicks are they using that the candle blows up? I've been making high quality candles for at least a decade now. I've never had any problems besides a zinc core wick. They should never be used in a "wellness" candle. Besides that, if they use paraffin wax, those aren't good for "wellness" candles either. Both of them let off small amounts of toxins. Both are usually only used in cheaper quality candles. I personally use paper core and soy wax. They don't let off the dark smoke, they are natural and are safe to burn in homes with pets and young children. Idk, that's wild to me that there were so many issues with the candles. It is a lot of testing when formulating the perfect candle, there are many elements to it but they should burn in 4 hour intervals with no issue. ESPECIALLY for that price! That infuriates me as a small business owner that has out so much work and care into crafting candles.

I know this is probably off topic but that nose piercing (or fake hoop) which ever really really suits you, if it real then cool, but if it’s not and you’re trying it out to see if you wanted one etc etc etc then you really pull it off and it looks amazing on you, anyway I’m going to shut up now and continue to watch the video x
Some candles have warnings about how long to burn them. I have several candles that candy be burned for longer than four hours at a time. If he didn’t follow the instructions then the lawsuit is frivolous
