we persevere and every trip we are ever hopeful and a lot of the time it just end up casting practise. when we look back at our day it is always enjoyable whether we end up soaked to the skin or burnt by the sun Tight lines Cheers Iain 🥃
the weather has been against us this year Clive its strange today is the first day on the Tweed that trout have been rising in numbers and everything felt spring like and then checking the catches for the salmon there seem to have been a lot of activity Tight lines on your next trip. Cheers Iain 🥃
The chance of hooking a salmon was slim Christopher but if the fly isn't in the water there is no chance. I changed my fly a few time but I think that the water level had the few fish that were coming into the system head upstream without any problem Cheers Iain. 🥃
sometimes we have to be content with casting practise Tobby . its better to just have fun fishing in the hope of connecting rather than putting pressure on ourselves to catch fish . Have fun and the fish will come . Tight Lines. Cheers Iain. 🥃
@@IainSB indeed Iain I'm glad the slip didn't injure you so you can enjoy your next trips. We will be casting experts soon 🤣. Tight lines for the next one.
I was never fortunate enough to have fished with John when I fished Tulchan in the dim and distant . I fished on B with Alan and managed to get the full Tulchan experience from him Alan was something to behold and his manner seemed regimental and had to be fully organised and directed by the one and only Alan . Cheers Iain. 🥃
Thanks Tommy the weather wasn't to bad and I felt that the air temperature rose a little when it started to snow I hope that your season is going well. Cheers Iain 🥃
the catch returns for a lot of the Scottish rivers seem to have taken a small leap and hopefully the pools will start to get a few residents . Keep your rod bent Cheers Iain. 🥃
Thanks Burnie. There was a lot more fish recorded in the catches on the Tweed yesterday than there have been since last year and hopefully the runs continue . I was fishing near Kelso on Thursday and the hairs were out in numbers doing a bit of boxing it's good to see that we can catch other aspects of the countryside and appreciate it well done Cheers Iain. 🥃
John is a gentleman and his quiet reassuring manner will help any angler feel at ease on beat A . His knowledge about the history of salmon flies and the river Spey is second to none Cheers Iain 🥃
The hut and a fire looked more enticing by the hour Iain although it seemed to brighten up a bit later. The water temp may have been just a tad cold even for the fishies!!
There were fish going through Mr Mazo and some were caught in the beats above. The beat I had been firing the day before had one in the pool at the bottom of the beat and it was caught by Bill who was fishing and talking to the ghillie on the pool below the hut . Cheers Iain. 🥃
Hi Iain, very difficult conditions three for you and the others that day, you had 4 seasons in one day there and no fish on the end of your line. Did any body else catch that day Iain or see anything showing? Look forward to the next one mate and Thankyou for sharing. Cheers. 🍷 Steve.
one of the guys that were fishing on beat d the previous day had a springer from the march pool at the bottom of the beat . his name is Bill and he was in the last video fishing with the ghillie on the pool below the hut Cheers Iain 🥃
It felt a bit warmer when it started to snow but the felt soles got me . I was on my back a couple of times with my feet in the air before I knew it . I loved your video of the Findhorn and hope to fish it in June if everything comes together Tight Lines Cheers Iain 🥃
Well had same experience with my new felt soles Iain great in the water but wet grass\snow all over the place. Glad you like the video what beat you thinking to try on the Findhorn. Dave
I think that anyone that had the chance of fishing at Tulchan would love to be there . a lot of the time it's about having fun and it's only a chance of getting the fly in front of a fish that keeps us practising our casting Our name will be on the side of a fish at sometime in the future Cheers Iain 🥃
It's still early in the season James and I am sure that the numbers of salmon coming into the rivers will increase giving us a better chance of a fish . Tight Lines. Cheers Iain
I hope that you are wrong and we do get a decent summer with good water levels and pools that have salmon in them. hopefully when covid came along and there was less pressure on fishing it will equate to good numbers of fish returning next year Cheers Iain 🥃
Well Iain...10/10 for sheer perseverance!! Unlucky and thank for sharing !
