If anybody is having trouble at 5:00-like I was. I had luck unscrewing completely the back screws of the armrest on both sides (these: 3:36) and then going back to the backrest. Here's the hard part. To get those armrest screws back in, you have to push down from the top of the chair, with quite a lot of force unfortunately, to line up the holes. Not a great experience.
I think you missed a very important part about how to use the tilting option on this chair.

I think it is ok compared to its price. I bought it for the lockdown period, I feel my chair in office is more comfortable though.

WARNING: The plastic arm rests WILL BREAK eventually, it's just a matter of time and usage. They simply aren't made to support a chair that you can lean back and even rock a bit in like this. And because they hold the back to the bottom of the chair, once they break, they're useless. And IKEA does NOT provide replacements, not even a way to purchase them, outside of the relatively short warranty life.
It's cheap for a reason, even if it won't be obvious for a while.
same happened to mine. both arms cracked clean through both arm rests between the 2nd and 3rd screw holes. a very common problem with this chair which IKEA just told me "sorry, but you'd have to buy another as we don't sell spares for this chair". also the thin material on the arms will wear through in no time and be very unsightly.

yes i have the same chair and im 130 kg and ikea tested this chair on a 110 kg but my weight and the chair works fine

good chair but sadly after using it for 5 years the star steel bends and the middle steel (that goes through the hole through the star steel) completely touches the ground and scrapes it lol

If you push the leaver to put the chair angled back and then can you lock the leaver to lock the chair angles back?

Nope. Everything is in the package. I did mine manually. Just using whatever the box provided. No powertools for me.

Please help!!! I recently learnt you can tilt this chair by pulling the lever out and adjusting the tilt tension knob. This worked, however, now it makes a sound whenever i lean back! I just got this. Anyone know how to fix it? It didnt make a sound before i pulled the lever out

@@aashutoshtaikar5087 the gas lift lever that you use to adjust the height of the chair, if you pull it outwards, it grants you access to tye tilt mechanism. Next to that lever, there is a circular device where if you turn it, it adjusts the amount of tilt tension

Looks like This is a well known issue with this chair. Wish I knew before I bought it
Avoid the Millberget, as the newest versions of this chair are likely to have a forward tilt, making it less comfortable to sit on.
Once you discover that yours has this issue, Ikea will not allow a replacement or a refund, as you've now assembled it.....
TL:DR. They used to be great but the new versions are poor and Ikea's customer service is non existent.

I'm 165 lbs and I cant lean back for shit, only when I try to push with my legs but that's just stupid.

Linnea H its been a while but I see a lot of people having issues with this chair. How has it treated you?
I'm 5'11 and my back is fine all day long I game for 6-8 hours straight but I have the older model called malkolm which is essentially the same chair just my tensioner is a hand crank not a twist but overall it's a good chair I had it since 2015 and still shows no sign of wear at all I'm 140lbs

if you want to lock it again push it to the Left
it doesn't work, the lock only locks it in one position, I want it locked while tilted, the mechanism doesn't allow that

do not buy this chair, it is extremely uncomfortable, it doesnt have a good recline, makes your ass sweat for a long time sitting on it, and the arm rest hits the desk alot, it just wasnt for everyone
