    Probably the most accurate thumbnail comment ever. Wanted to know if the Markus was a good long term chair and this is perfect. Thanks.

    I just made a research about Markus and probably found solution to your squeaking problem. You have to unscrew seat from mechanism then oil mechanism.

    5 year chair at 10 hours a day (probably 3-4 days/week) is a pretty solid recommendation in my opinion. Especially for something that’s around 250$ CAD. (I got mine on sale for 200$) :) thanks

    Just returned from IKEA. Tried all ergonomic chairs. Marcus was the most cosy but not as cosy as people describe it. Just ok. And I am a 70kg man…
    The lumbar is very aggressive. But from what I read, it can be removed. The dealbreaker for me, was the arm rest. My forearms felt pain in the first minute I rested them on these arms. By far the worst I ever tried. Even my 60 euro chair, has much more comfortable arms.

    • @donmarkon
      @donmarkon  Год назад +4

      Armrest is not important for me as my desk is high and my hands are always on it so i guess thats why i don't have problem with them. But indeed they are crap
      The good thing is that they are sturdy at least. So when i want to stand up or just rise myself i can completely do that without worrying that something gonna brake
      I still think considering warranty that it is best buy

    My Markus is about 6 years old now, it creaks a lot too. I'm 98kg and my seat cushion is flattened and hard now. Wanting to upgrade... I recently bought 2 chairs and returned them both (I must be picky).
    I've decided to just buy a Markus again, that will last another 4 years or something. I should notice a big difference with the cushion. Can't remember how long it lasted with my first one though.

      Why not change for a new one? You had a 10 year warranty.

    Thank you for this review, I have the same height, and decided to choose this chair among others because of your video - and I'm satisfied, overall the chair is really good. It's not easy to find a chair of decent quality by acceptable price in my country.
    On the other hand, my days of sitting with a bare bottom came to an end, because of the chair`s material =)

    If you're able to remove the piston, spray some lubricant on it. I spent the last 2 days trying to fix it and that was my problem. It's basically normal now. Search for video on how to remove piston. Needs strength. I used an adjustable wrench, squeeze like crazy and twist. Maybe a few smashes with a big hammer too lol. But once it's out, you see its rusting a bit, so just spray some good lubricant and you're good.
    My problem now is the fake leather on headrest is flaking off. If i fix that i think i'm good for another couple of years

    • @donmarkon
      @donmarkon  Год назад +6

      Removing piston is hard work, and damage to paint is unavoidable ... I think it is less of a trouble to just activate warranty!

      @@donmarkon I bought in store so don't have any proof of purchase. To be honest i'm not even certain it was still under warranty (though likely was). I have also been hearing some rumours about the newer ones not being as good quality though i haven't had that confirmed.

    Nice review. One question, from what material is made the arm rest of the chair? I went to Ikea and saw that the arm rest is made of rubber and I don't know if it will get scratched easily..

    • @donmarkon
      @donmarkon  Год назад +6

      Rubber, it is like first day. It is grippy and good quality

    I'm actually looking for a new chair because my current chair makes similar noises to yours in this video, but maybe even worse. It's so irritating. Probably will get the Markus though since it's cheap and seems durable if it holds up 4-6 years.

  • @Kubakpsv

    Noises are fixable with lithium grease ... repair takes less than 15 minutes.

    • @donmarkon

      @@donmarkon That's true, money-wise it's not a ton of cashm. Personally I'm pro-repair guy, no need to throw away something I can fix, humans are earth HIV-like animals enought in my opinion. I do love when something is restored to perfect condition.

    Hi, thanks for the review after long time. Can you tell me if the seat has form, i mean like a curvature from side to side? Or it is straight? I just bought one and i see when i cross with my hand that is thinner in the middle. Is that right or mine is faulty? Thank you

  •  9 месяцев назад

    Seat quality still good? I am aware of quality of seat, because there is cheap material...
