    I tried exogenous ketones before achieving nutritional ketosis. I loved the way I felt when taking them and that feeling really pushed me to do my first extended fast which drove my body to makes its own. I’ve been in an almost constant state of ketosis since. Down 40# type 2 diabetes reversed and enjoying life again.

    I have used keto to heal my body through nutrition the last 5 years. I’ve lost 60lbs lowered my A1c, my triglycerides are under normal and my neuropathy in my feet has disappeared. I went from 265 now at 205. This round of keto I decided to see how ketones would affect the process. It has enabled me to stay satiated and not have cravings as I still did, even if it was mentally, on keto. It seems by experience that it has also excelled my fat loss probably because of how it increases satiety. I would love to see you do the research trials and would love to be a part of it.

    After being on carnivore for a year and strict keto 6 months prior, I'm finding the only time my ketones are up is when I fast or stress my body. Usually .2 to .5 at any given morning.

    I started out on cutting out the carbs but my body wasn’t used to producing ketones, so the exogenous ketones seemed to have “trained” my body to produce ketones again.
    I now wake with 0.6 - 2.0 ketone levels. I think I can stop taking ketones now and maintain the under 20 carbs until I’ve lost all the weight I want to lose.

    In my experience so far, my second time trying a keto diet… when my urine strips start to show about a 4 I concurrently start feeling tired. I’ve been told the urine strips may show that I’m not great at using the ketones for fuel. I’ve tried exogenous ketones at this period of ketosis and I’ve felt a lift in mental alertness. However I think there must be a trade-off, I think I’m not great at fat burning or ketone utilization yet, my body is still building these pathways. I think the fatigue that I feel may be part of the process, if I artificially promote the goal of more mental clarity, I wonder if my body will just not build the pathways to get there by itself?

      I am a T2D for 16 years. Started Keto 31 July this year. Total carbs 20 or under. Used exogenous ketones the first week. My ketones since that time range from 3.3 to 5.1. I was 60 libs overweight but am down 21 as of today. My morning blood sugar the last 3 weeks range from 86 to 103. That is without my diabetic meds. I haven’t been on them for 4 weeks. But this is my case. We are all different

    • @cherylgarrett4455
      @cherylgarrett4455 Год назад

      I think I have have learned why I have been producing only a few ketones. I was taking Ozempic until just a few days before I started the Keto diet. One of the ways Ozempic works is to force the pancreas to produce more insulin. It also stays in your body for 5 weeks or so after stopping the Ozempic and continues to force greater insulin production. I have been eating Keto for 8 weeks now, and am making about .5 in ketones whenever I test. This is more than I have ever produced on my own. I am practically on a carnivore diet with the only carbs I get from cheese and eggs. I think an egg has about .6, and the cheese I like has about 1 g per oz. I literally am eating 4-6 g carbs a day. I am also not losing much weight. I was using My Fitness Pal and recently added Carb Manager to see if there was a variation in the apps. When you start reading material of some of the docs, you will see some of their diabetes patients never produce much in the way of measureable ketones.

    • @AdaptYourLife
      @AdaptYourLife  3 года назад +4

      Hi Ralph, it’s not necessary true. It is true that the longer you are in the diet the more your body will become efficient at burning fat, this may result in higher ketone numbers. We don’t focus on ketone numbers, just the restriction of carbs. Having higher ketones in the blood doesn’t equate to “more fat burning” in reality. I hope this helps.
