I agree. We all watch PBS history stuff. The history of the world is so interesting. When you go to a place in Europe and know that you are walking on stone walkways that were put in place by Romans...well, employees, many years ago(I'm not real up on dates). I hope I get to Denmark. I've lived though corona for eight months I might chance a plane ride. The Oak tree story is was great. But, I hope I can time my vacation with a Tina Dikow(yeah, it's Dico now) concert. I could go to my grave happy. Not everyone likes the music you like. This was a great hour(cause I kept pausing and replaying) long vid. HA: Pushed the little bush out of the way. Love it. I've done the same, except I rolled up my pants and climbed out on the fallen tree in the river and cut off the offending Salt Cedar branch( which is not a native to Arizona). Believe me, they will grow back(if your worried about the salt cedar). Mads is so enjoyable to watch and you might learn something.
There can be no doubt in your ability to pull a composition together almost anywhere! My favorite was the old oak by itself and the three small oaks. I’ll call the a” promise of tomorrow “
Love the lighting on the windmill. Interesting how photographers are drawn to lone trees in a field. Love the shot where Sophie moved the tree out of sight. Love love love the last 3 shots.
Hello there Mads. Another great video, and I think I have watched quite a number..... Just so you know the one with the 3 small beech trees is outstanding. All were good, but that for me was one of the best backit scenes I have seen. Superb. I am not flattering you, credit where credit is due! I tried to do one shot recently, and didn't have the benefit of fog, but as I am not very advanced in either photography or post processing, I am not sure if I am the best one to make it epic looking like yours. I really appreciate you enjoying your craft, and to do so with your wife is a great benefit. Thanks again. John.
I appreciate you photographing the home country. It's far more challenging than the top ten photo spots of the world. And far more educating. Thank you for sharing!
So glad I came across you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your joy in the journey, your amazing photos and your humility are inspirational. Much appreciated. Xx
What a superb vlog again Mads, for me the young beech tree’s @25:00 is the triumph of the day. Sophie of course clearly made the image 🙌 Your vlogs are so calming, they always set up my day in the best possible way, thx 👍
WOW. What an awesome video, yet again, You are by far 1 of the best youtubers. Your photos where epic as always . Its such a pleasure watching your content, such an inspiration. Thank you and i look forward to your next video..
Hello Mads, thanks you very much for the wonderful pictures in autumn. I am so happy about your episoden Dänemark 1-6. I am waiting for the episode "Dänemark on winter" perhaps with snow???
What an amazing variety of adventures you had in this video, from seashores to battlefields to forests, you covered a lot of ground. I do like the image of the lighthouse in the beginning. It has a quiet feel and imparts a calmness. Having the birds fly through was a bonus. The forest scenes with the golden leaves and sunrays and leaf strewn paths were especially beautiful. Wonderful warm light. I was able to visit Dybbøl Mølle a year or two ago and was very impressed by the vastness of the place. Good to know about the movie, 1864. will try to find that to watch. Thanks again for the wonderful series on Denmark.
One of your best...thank you. Just what I needed during this chaos around us. And so glad to have a glimpse or two (however brief) of your lovely Sophie in other than silhouette!
It's so refreshing to see these beautiful locations and the wonderful way you manage to capture light. Your enthusiasm and love of your work is so refreshing in these times of confusion. Thank you so much.
Love your Denmark videos Mads ! The pictures at the end of this episode are my favorite. I agree that the search for a shot is as important as the final picture itself especially when you can share it with someone at that time.
Hi Mads. This is one of your best videos, and I particularly like the misty woodland set. Your video and photos are just the tonic to what we are going through right now, so many thanks!! Roger
The pathway through the golden trees at the end was my favorite shot. Very nice, and you are completely correct about the most important part of photography. :)
I'm really enjoying this exploration of your home country of Denmark. I enjoy your more epic and cinematic work as well, but some of my favorite of your vlogs are done close to home. You are a master of whatever style of photography you do. Thanks from the USA for sharing your amazing work.
Mads, thank you for the history lesson! It was great to learn about how and why the forest was planted, Denmark’s relationship to England an France, Napoleon etc. twenty or so years ago my wife and I visited the Frisian Island of Ameland. There we encountered a fun and lively group of Danish incoming college students singing Beattles songs and speaking excellent American. I’ve wanted to visit Denmark ever since. Your videos and history lesson heighten the desire.
hello from us you take fine photos sensitive and thoughtful. I have taking pictures for over sixty years it's always challenging but so hard to express in words.
You saying being with Sophie is the best part of getting out just shows how good of a guy you are. The joy if being together is what makes a relationship fun..and Sophie giggling when you slipped was really cute!
I love this series. The last two photos were my favorites because of the light and the light rays. Beautiful photos. Can wait for the cave episode. Very inspirational.
This a great series! Especially loved the last 3 shots - especially the one at 26:16 - the colours and the natural forest vignette around the brightly lit far trees were wonderful! Many thanks.
Well worth the wait Mads as the 28 minutes was enthralling. Beautiful images especially the ones of the sun shining through the trees and loved the windmill shot shot with the long lens. Also its fascinating to hear of the history of your country and the tree planting condition of the king certainly was a novel way to ensure a future timber supply
Thanks a lot, Jim. When I looked into it I learned that having big oaks on your land was worth A LOT back in those days. It makes sense it would be equivalent to having a lithium ore or oil field in modern days :)
Spontaneously decided to spend my birthday in Denmark, and bought your guide to photography locations (in case I can off my semi-private beach and be bothered to take photos 😂). Thanks for making these resources available, saves me a ton of time researching.
great stuff. it's interesting to see you shooting less 'epic' locations nearer to your home. it's really inspiring to see what you can find in the simple things in your back garden!
Amazing photos as usual. I've been trying to get a similar picture to your young beach photo, but seem to keep missing the light. Really enjoying the Denmark series, maybe someday I'll get to travel there.
I love seeing you find a spot to photograph. Huge help for me to find and understand the composition, your books have helped tremendously. Interestingly now I can see some of what you are seeing, but still... I look at what you see at other times, and don't quite see it, then at the end, there is a beautiful shot of a tree or path in the woods. Composition, composition..... as well as post-production work. Funny. I found Lightroom frustrating at times, and going through Photoshop in your course, I have found it now to be easier and make more sense to me. I still have more work to do.. lol, but that is what I love about photography, and anything we like to be good at.... it takes work and practice. I liked the lighthouse at the start here, I think a black and white version would be awesome. Thanks, Mads!
Great content as always Mads and like others have said adding the bits about the history & culture adds to it. I seem to remember the Danes beating us Brits up badly at one point in history! lol
Haha yeah, well, the one who laughs last ;) But then again, most Brits descent from northfolks anyhow so it's basically one big civil war since the romans left Britain 😅
Great story, with beautiful photos. Can u explain why you shot the 2 single oaks at F11, and not F5.6 which is what I would have done in that situation.
I love your photography and videos. I hope to someday visit and photograph your part of the planet. I live in the USA Midwest, which is not very epic.... lol. There are beautiful images to be found, with a little more work. I have a question, what software do you use for your focus stacking? Cheers, Hutch
Ha, "Dear Mads, we promise you the most epic sunrise in the history of mankind... seriously" @3:50 the birds are such good compliments! I like the shot with Sophie and the water/trees... looks like she's on the edge of nothing-ness, very cool (my girlfriends cold pose :) , love the history of the oaks - imagine all they've seen. Poor Denmark.. it's had a hard past. @20:40 as if God himself was on the other side of the trees :)
Have subscribed to newsletter. Superb photography as ever. Very interesting and informative videos. Noticed Sophie making images. Does she have a channel / website?
Thanks a lot, Geoff! She is and I think she has the largest un-edited collection of photos ever. Her work has been taking up quite a lot of time the past years with PhD and some sickness in the close family she's had to deal with, so time haven't really been on her side. Hopefully next year we can start edit some of her photos.
About the 4 minute mark you have a shot of Sophie on the rocks in front of the lighthouse and the birds in the sky. Is it a composited shot to keep the birds sharp and a longer shutter speed to slow the water? I appreciate the photos and the history excerpts.
Love the content! Thank you for your dedication to your channel! I was wondering if you sell hard copies of your books, such as the ones pictured in the ebook page of your website?
Thanks a lot, Willis. No, no hard copies. I am mentally preparing for a hard copy of a "portfolio book" but the educational eBooks will stay as eBooks :)
Amazing episode Mads, enjoyed every second! Is there a website or a way to check out the fog forecast? I can't seem to find one in the Netherlands . Also you mentioned a perfect sunrise was forecasted.. Where do you get that kind of information ;)
in the first image with the lighthouse, did you add the migrating flock of cranes in photoshop or were you lucky to have them fly by while taking the photo? beautiful shots from the forest, another very interesting episode!

I know Im kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good site to watch new tv shows online ?
@Cayson Jaxson Flixportal :P
@Danny Koda thanks, I went there and it seems to work =) Appreciate it!
@Cayson Jaxson glad I could help xD
I also appreciate the non-photography related information you add: history, culture. Good jumping off points to learn more. Thanks.
That's great to hear! I enjoy sharing it :)

The addition of the birds is what made that lighthouse pic work. One more layer of interest that breathed life into the image.
Thanks a lot, Edmund, lucky they flew by and I could add them in :)
@@MadsPeterIversen Out if curiosity, did they actually fly by the lighthouse or did you capture them elsewhere and add them in post?
There can be no doubt in your ability to pull a composition together almost anywhere! My favorite was the old oak by itself and the three small oaks. I’ll call the a” promise of tomorrow “
Love the lighting on the windmill. Interesting how photographers are drawn to lone trees in a field. Love the shot where Sophie moved the tree out of sight. Love love love the last 3 shots.
Beautiful Oak Trees shot. The majestic of the trees were shown with Sophie in the shot. Nice
6:30 Spectacular !
love the shot of Sophie in the trees
I really like that second image with you under the trees looking into the emptiness. It’s like you are standing at the edge of the unknown.
Images are beautiful. Your commentary, joy, and a short history of Denmark is wonderful. Stay safe. And say Hello to Sofi for me.
Hello there Mads. Another great video, and I think I have watched quite a number..... Just so you know the one with the 3 small beech trees is outstanding. Catching up on some unwatched videos. Beautiful photographs and a very enjoyable video.
Love the daytime mill photo!! So much texture and colour and the sunshine is perfecct!
Thank you very much, Karen 😊
That for shot of the lighthouse looks fantastic.. I love it
Thank you, Mads. I appreciate all of the work on the photography, but also the history of your home country of Denmark.
I love your work Mads and your enthusiasm is infectious. Endless thanks for sharing
I appreciate you photographing the home country.
It's far more challenging than the top ten photo spots of the world.

Thank you for sharing!
My favourites were the lone tree in the sunset and towards the end the side light tunnel of trees. Carry on the good work.
The combination of beech trees, a touch of fog and front lighting in the last section was great. Thanks. Love your work... art.
I liked the first shot, had a calming feel.
So glad I came across you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your joy in the journey, your amazing photos and your humility are inspirational. Much appreciated. Xx
Thank you for the kind words, Cheryl :)
Tak!
Selv mange tusind tak! 🙏
Stunning light on that oak tree Mads! Been getting loads of fog here in England lately, just wish we could get a little more light like that!
You're on a roll Mads. I think these are my favourite photos from your rock and roll tour of Denmark.
Thank you for sharing your lovely country with us. Love your work 🤗
I love the shot with Sofie and the 5 trees. Super minimal and beautiful.
What a superb vlog again Mads, for me the young beech tree’s @25:00 is the triumph of the day. Sophie of course clearly made the image 🙌

Thank you Mads! Now we all love Denmark!
Well done Sophie & Mads, I love November atmosphere. And in Denmark it seems to be very special in autumn.
Wonderful!!! So beautiful! Great pictures, perfect music, and great and interesting historical talks! Thank you Mads, very inspiring!!
Ik really L.O.V.E the way you are able to see and show the beauty in virtually nothing special. Gives me hope that one day my pictures will improve 😀.
As always I am impressed to see the great compositions you get out of a “boring” danish landscape 👍👍👍 really inspiring 😊
Thanks a lot, Jens! Hope you're doing well 😁

Several great sunray shots here, but I actually most liked the brief video of you two walking down the wooded path in the morning mist.
Hehe, that's also some nice videography ;)

Wonderful videos as usual. When shooting in the fog, we you adjust your exposure up to +1 or +2?
Amazing how great light can transform a somewhat ordinary forest-scape. Do you carry a saw to clear your more cluttered forest shots?
Gorgeous photographs...and again interesting facts. When do we have our exam? 😀
