I have a question. I've got an Ender 5 Pro with a 4.2.2 board and TMC 2208s. I'm a fan of TH3D products. I run TH3D UFW 2 firmware 2.12b and I have their Flex plates (smooth & textured) and the EZMat. I also have the EZABL but haven't installed it yet (due to several issues that TH3D is dealing with). Currently using MANUAL_MESH_LEVELING that appears to be working but not ideally. I would like to update my hotend to allow me to get to hotter temps. I do have the TH3D titanium heat break for the Creality hotend. This will at least pull the PTFE away from the heater which should allow me to run the hotend to higher temps. I also have a higher spec thermistor that I could install and I could recompile my firmware as needed with things set as required. So I'm wondering if I install these on my stock hotend what would be the max temps I could get to? I'm not looking for anything crazy, thinking maybe 300C max would be fine for me and I really don't see running much higher than 280 in most cases. Would this be possible with the stock hotend with the titanium heatbreak? Would I need the higher spec thermistor? Have you ever installed the TH3D titanium heat break? They currently don't have a video showing the process just a couple images and a bit of text on the product page. Think it would be good for someone to do a video showing the install. If the stock hotend wouldn't handle the higher temps, then what are your thoughts about the TH3D tough metal hotend? It's only $30 but I really don't see much difference between it and the stock (I already have their updated quieter fan installed). Appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks.

Hey there! The stock should be able to handle 300c as long as you've got that TI heat brake in place and the higher temp thermistor. Personally I prefer the design of the Mosquito hotend for high temp prints to avoid heat creep thought.

@@modified3d59 Yes, I like the Mosquito hotend too but I don't like the $100+ price. And I really don't think I need something like that for the temps I'm looking at running. How much heat creep would I really experience with Capricorn PTFE (or I may switch to TH3D Tough PTFE which is rated to 275C) with the stock hotend and the Ti heat break? I've already swapped to the TH3D quieter fans. I don't believe they have a higher CFM rating however but they are more efficient. Do you know of any available fans with a higher CFM rating that I could switch to? Or is this even really necessary? Another option would be to switch to the TH3D Tough All-Metal Hotend. This is only $30 and appears to have a better cooling system. Do you have any experience with this? Guessing this would allow me to go to even higher temps in the future if I want. But I also have the PrinterMods MDD V1.3 direct drive conversion that I have ready for a future installation and I'm not sure if it's compatible with the TH3D Tough All-Metal Hotend. I've sent them a question to find out. Guess another issue is if I switch to the TH3D hotend, I'd have to also switch the mounting scheme since it doesn't fit the stock mounting arrangement. Possibly HeroMe5 or something else. If I do that, do you have an recommended mounting options? Anyway, appreciate any comments. Thanks.

I do have the Th3d hotend but did experience a good amount of heat creep issues with it so I don't know if I can recommend it over the stock with a ti heatbrake. You should be good to go with the setup you have

@@modified3d59 I need to find a PT100 thermistor that will fit the stock hotend. Do you know of anyone that sells one that will fit? Supposedly the E3D version won't fit.
