They have to tell the institutions what they want to hear, or else they go out of business. It’s a business that has an internal incentive to lie built in. That is way dumber, especially when we consider that it was something the government could easily grasp.

I agree, but at the same time when people is so desperate and such in precarious positions they will take anything even if is the most insane and ilogical option if it haves the smallest odds of improving their lifes. Sure holding accountable people for their mistakes is important, but I think is more important in general to get people that do this scams accountable first and the people that promote them as well.

I'm not that great at FPS games. I'm decent at COD and awful at Valorant. Literal iron. It's beyond easy to get a Victory Royale. Only met 1 semi-decent player the entire time. Rest was bots and 10 year olds.
These scammers only exist because the odds of them facing real consequences for their actions are low. Because America is incredibly corrupt. Our politicians are also grifters, so they don't want to push into anti-scam/grift laws.
