I've seen Charles lined up at the X receiver spot and run routes as good as anyone else. That's not just very good That's easily hall of fame caliber. He didn’t have the longevity to be a HOF. he is stupid talented I completely agree some of the stuff he did in his prime was top tier. His injuries killed something great unfortunately that takes away from his stats and his career. No way the guys that vote will vote him in. I don’t see how he could deserve the honor he hasn’t been one of the best 500 or so players to ever play in the nfl. He had a great few years making him all pro at best

This guy will always be legend by me. I played my first year of Fantasy Football in 2013 and drafted him unaware of how good he would play. The week he played the Raiders again, I had worked that morning. I took a nap, woke up, and he had put up 77.5 points against my opponent. He had sent me a text telling me “GG.” Charles was a monster and should never be forgotten.
I remember when he had 6.4 yards per carry in 2010. Thought his career was gunna be a bit longer, but that ACL ended his career as a starter a few years before it should of. Great career, definetely in that McCoy/Lynch tier of that era, just behind AP.
He would’ve played with mahomes 😭😭😭. Dude was signed through 2018 I believe originally. Even though a bit older I don’t doubt he would’ve had 1.500 year season mahomes rookie year. And the chiefs would’ve had the best offense of all time without a doubt. Even with a 31 year old JC, young Kareem hunt. Would’ve been absolutely insane 😭😭

I was thinking, "Are you sure you want to put that in print, Jamaal?" But then, he did it: 371 yards on 49 carries! That's when I really knew his heart. I've been around football for a long time. Jamaal Charles is one of the greatest backs of all time. He could do it all.
What a story he has man. Not just a Chiefs legend but among the very best to ever do it. He helped build the Chiefs into the organization they are today. All of those years when KC wasn't doing a lot of winning...he still showed out.

Always gave me hope even when we weren't that good you knew he could make something happen. So sad when he got injured I really missed him.

When Charles played in them in 2007 they still had some good players. Still any RB than can put up 200 yards in a single quarter is pretty impressive.
Man at one point in his career he was averaging 6.3 yards per carry during an entire season! You won’t ever see that again in today’s NFL game with a min 200 carries! Plus he could catch better than most of our WRs 😂

It was hard to see him suit up in a Broncos uniform, but the man wrote a thank you letter to KC on his way out that was printed in the Star. Class act. I watched Jamaal his whole career. He made it look so effortless almost like he was gliding out there on the field. The highlight big plays are amazing but I was also always impressed with his yards per carry average. He wasn't a barry sanders type who'd get 15 carries for 113 where one run got him 80 of those yards. For Jamaal he almost always churned out intermediate positive gains. When it was the 3rd quarter he would have 100 yards on 14 carries and it was largely his ability to slip away from a tackle and turn a -2 into a plus 6 or 7 which he would do over and over and over and over again.
Not a Chiefs fan but Charles was one of my favorite RBs to ever play. His speed was second to none. It wasn't just straight line speed either even when he made his cuts/jukes it seems like he didn't slow down at all.
Can't believe the Chiefs went from Priest Holmes to Larry Johnson to Jamaal Charles. They were loaded at RB for most of the last two decades

When it was the 3rd quarter he would have 100 yards on 14 carries and it was largely his ability to slip away from a tackle and turn a -2 into a plus 6 or 7 which he would do over and over and over and over again.
Not a Chiefs fan but Charles was one of my favorite RBs to ever play. His speed was second to none. It wasn't just straight line speed either even when he made his cuts/jukes it seems like he didn't slow down at all.

Holmes and Charles full power and health would be in my eyes the scariest backfield that could happen. Very underrated cut short careers.
