I feel unfair and disrespectful, as it's mainly the singers who get the praise, while the whole band consists of skilled and gifted musicians. But what a commanding, gifted, proficient and fantastic singer she is. Outstanding. And let's face it. She has a recorded career of over 20 years behind her. Extensive tours. Demanding vocals. Most voices don't last that long. It's proof that she knows what she's doing and what a high art it is, to what emotionality, expression, edge, purity she can bring her voice maintaining the healthy place. I'm very excited for the studio versions of the already known and the totally new songs of the upcoming album. The concert recently was fantastic.

50 years ago today Black Sabbaths "Black Sabbath" Album was released. Arguably the first metal album ever. This song "Black Sabbath" Alone ended up spawning the entire sub genre of Doom Metal. This is probably the most influential album at least for metal, of all time.
I love that they did this song in their own symphonic metal style. This to me is better than a tribute band because those bands try their best to both look and sound like the original as much as possible. This cover is also much more original than Greta Van Fleet. Greta Van Fleet writes their own songs but the songs that I heard from them makes them sound like a clone band of Led Zeppelin. The sad part of this is that Greta Van Fleet is up for 2 Grammy awards and possibly will receive a Grammy which I don't think Led Zeppelin ever had and I know Black Sabbath and Within Temptation have never ever been considered for a Grammy. The Grammys are a popularity contest and not based on the best talent.
Yeah I was thinking are they just going to start w/ the Black Sabbath for like 10 secs and surprise everyone w/ Sabbath Bloody Sabbath like Pantera did w/ Cat Scratch Fever off their live album

I'm glad they love black sabbath. But how can you not play the solo for one. And the iconic three note riff is missing. My favorite riff they didn't even attempt at the part where Ozzy sings "will this be the end my friend" right before the solo. There was nothing catchy about this version. Try listening to Type o negative version , it will be more satisfying. Still no solo in type o negatives. Instead of the solo they combined it with two other sabbath songs. The chourse riff of 'Killing yourself to live' and 'Fairies wear boots' very eerie very catchy, well done. Peter Steel new what heavy metal was about. He also did a alternating version of black sabbath in the devil's perspective. Give it a listen people if you haven't yet.
